I have a question that many are wondering about. If you have faders set on the Studiolive 24.4.2, then make adjustments in VSL to the levels, what happens when you go back to the board. Example, if you have your vocal channel at 0dB and pull it down to -40dB in VSL, it doesn't physically move on the board. If you go back to the board and touch the fader, does the output level instantly jump up 40dB back to where it was before?
@stryke23x Great question! All you need to do is put the mixer in fader locate mode. This allows you to have a visual representation of your changes while you were away from the board. When you return to the mixer, move the faders to the nil point, and then select input, or any select button. This will make the faders active again.
Hey, I'm having trouble getting audio through my monitors from studio one. I have no clue what is going on. I have my M-Audio Bx5a connected to the output of my Studiolive 16.0.2, and I'm wondering, when i record i can hear what is going in while I'm recording, but when i what to replay it,I don't hear anything coming out. if you can tell what i can do. or if you can make a video PLEASE!!
@LosRivas1 Hmm... Very difficult to diagnose via YouTube. I strongly recommend you get in touch with our tech support team, or check out our knowledgebase and forum. I will DM you the contact info!
Please keep me & all of us posted on any developements with regards to this, Im sure this will more than triple your sales... If Allen & Heath could add a simple transport and midi control to their ZED R16 (without fader recall) imagine what Presonus cld have if the StudioLive had this simple upgrade... Mackie/Hui Control via the same principle as VSL... compatible with most DAW`s... DO IT :))) CHEERS GUYS!!
@presonusaudio ; Thanks for the reply, hope they bite it wld really be a good move, this desk is awesome, all it needs is more freedom in the studio... as said before; who needs motorized faders?? all they do is wear out and make noise after a while, as long as we can recall them its cool. To be able to control a DAW from this console wld be amazing, wldnt need changes to the desk just firmware upgrades
(I think), im sure there are ways around transport control too using existing buttons..??
hey Guys, just wondering,, seeing as StudioLive and Studio One are both presonus products, how about upgrading the 2 to be compatible so that we can use the studiolive to control plug-ins, faders etc in studio one? it would kind of be like incorporating your existing VSL into studio one, maybe a button on the daw to switch the fat channel rotaries into plugin controllers?? how about a simple Mackie/hui control upgrade even for other dws? non flying faders are fine as long as they can control DAW
I had power failure at the time the firmware updatting !!!!! ooops!!! so what I have to do now??????? Help when I ask VSL to chaik firmware answer " the SL is up to date" !!!!!
help please !!!!!!!! jammerco326@hotmail.com :?: :?: :!: :!:
can i controle it wireles???? so i can go down on the dansefloor and make take the sound so I dont have to take the mixer down from the stage to make the perfect sound????
Does anyone know if they are planning on allowing the VSL software to somehow act as a controller for DAWs in the near future?? I can live without the motorized faders if the board will control the faders on screen in my DAW... Besides that this board is PERFECT...
Love my 16.4.2 but as others have stated, I wish it had motorized faders. I might even consider upgrading to the 24 channel mixer if it came with motorized faders...
really wish you had motorized faders!! that is the only reason I have doubts and really have to think about getting a different product :( VSL is cool, but it doesn't move the faders... it is adjusts other parameters with the cpu, but not the faders... WHY NOT??? I would love to use this with logic and protools as a controller... but I guess this is one of the features that the studiolive is not, a studio controller?? a lil dissapointed :(
on the presonus website it says... "Direct recording interface compatible with Logic®, Nuendo, Cubase, Sonar™, Digital Performer™, Ableton™ Live, and more" does this mean that the new unit will be equipt with flying faders?? What about surround sound?
Yes, absolutely. The VSL will run at the same time as Capture, StudioOne or any DAW you are using with the StudioLive. We are hoping to release a beta of the VSL within 30 days and then the final version hopefully about 30 days after that.

Yes you can. Search for "VSLWireless" and you'll find a couple of videos showing me controlling it with an iPhone and a 2nd Laptop.

@Devoted2Audio wow.....
85 % of all Solid State Logic's in the world came without Flying faders.....which was an after market addon
Mixes were automated via VCA control using Trim and Absolute switches alongside the Storing states of the Desks by total recall.....
I would take a barebones VCA SSL over my Behringer desk with" flying faders" any day.
unless you want this to make a cat jump or funky moterized Youtube videos,
It is one of the least necessary features on a console.

hey guys, the only thing missing to make this thing perfect are the motorized faders.
Is presonus thinking to include this feature in the studio live mixers (in the near future)???
