Hey Steve, why did you people decide to start making them in China? I've only bought 3 pairs since they started being produced there. The visual detail & quality sucks compared to USA made vans. I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Vans were an american institution icon & now they are not. I loved Vans & purchased lots of them when they were still made in the USA & were all I wore in high school and college. Very sad and inexcusable that Vans went overseas.

@longhairedpig Totally agree. If you haven't worn hand made USA made Vans, you haven't worn Vans. The writing was on the wall in the early 90's and i bought up big. Still have 14 pairs of USA made Vans of various wear, mostly in good condition, 3 pairs still not out of the box. Wouldn't be seen dead in a shitty pair of Chinese made Vans.

One of the best shoes ever, been wearing Vans since my High School days in the '80s. The Era and the Chukka Boots are my favorite and have never gone out of style.
