Not true. You can actually weaken your joints and increase risk of injury using passive stretching. Instead, work on isometrics, active stretching, and some dynamic warmup drills (leg swings, bwt squats, etc). Don't force it!

i've been trying to do the splits for years it's not working i need passive stretching someone has to help

you know, I've always known that passive stretching was bad, but it's never been pointed out why or what was a better option.
