this ride is in north carolina thunder road was the only ride that crossed over into south carolina i haven't been to carowinds since 08 but thats how it was at that time. this was the first roller coaster i rode on lol. still its by far my favorite the other on with the bar that comes up between your legs that ride was worthless and hurt good thing I was smart enough to plant my feet and push back.

Carolina) & splitting through Carolina Goldrusher, Carolina Cobra & Thunder Road, Afterburn, Intimidator & the kiddie coasters are south of Thunder Road & Nighthawk & therefore in South Carolina. Carolina Cyclone, Ricochet & Hurler are all north of Vortex & are in North Carolina.

Just rode this for the first time yesterday. This is certainly my new favorite coaster! Love the first drop and the barrel rolls and how smoothly it keeps flowing from one element to the next. One and a half minutes of pure joy!

@pretzil16 It's usually due to ownership rights. In this case Paramount used to own the park & the rights to the movie the coaster was named after. When Cedar Fair purchased the park they were forced to change names of the rides that Paramount owns the rights to.

I've rode this 20 times in a row in 1 hour. the last corkscrew/flatspin was enough for me to throw up. lol, but's it's a beasty ass ride. And that roar on the first drop and under the sidewalk(tunnel) makes this looks even more scary but it's not. it's a great thrill if your looking to ride the intimidator or coasters bigger than this!

Several ppl have asked about the wait times for this ride. We have seasons passes, and if you go first thing on a Sunday you won't have a wait. Actually today we went around 11:30 and we still only had to wait 15 mins, so Sunday is it. Also, yes, the view from the first seat is awesome, but I LOVE sitting in the last seat. To me it just "feels" like you're going faster. The Intimidator is an awesome new ride, but Afterburn (always Top Gun to me) is my favorite...Carolina Cobra 2nd.

@simonkeyalot7 - Na, the only lines you may find long are for The Intimidator, Nighthawk, and Carolina Cobra. Other than that, the other lines are either wait for one more train or you can get on right away. (I could definatley tell a difference between last year without Intimid. and this year how it pull more people away from the other coasters)

Well i have to say B&M has done a great job of repeating coaster designs. This is the exact same layout of Montu, simply flipped the other way. Someone needs to get a little more creative over there.
