Knowingly hurting someone, for your own benefit, sucking away their life in the name of love. That isn't love. I'm so sad this isn't actually a love story - it's a predator and his victim, who always believed in him. It's so sad.

I have never heard of Josh Ritter until a few days ago, and have never listened to his music until I saw this video on Bravo. I like the song and the video. I will surely check out more of his works.

Josh Ritter has a poetic way of writing lyrics and I suppose Liam Hurley has a poetic style of bringing them to life. If the "stars" thing was still going, I'd give it five...but all I can do now is fav it and click in massively understated "like" button.

There are other meanings you can get from this too ... She was cursed or damned from the moment she opened his coffin and touched him.

I heard it on NPR and loved the feeling of it, indeed, it is a touching story and marvelous melody! wonderful work!

this is very deep and sad too. at first you sort of shudder seeing her with him, then think it's cute, and then you realize she's turning into a mummy herself. Time passes for us all =( reminds me of The Giving Tree
