  • there is nothing for steam to refund, they don't sell you a game. they sell you a license to use the program that is the game. when you agree to it's tos you agree that the data on your hard drive that contains your game library belongs to steam and the game developers physically .

  • sry what? story telling is important in a MMO? thats a load of BS biscut... most investigations show that most MMO players don't really give a fuck about the story...

  • @fiskefyren ..?

  • Is it just me or are one of them wearing a "Day of The Tentacle" disguise?

  • I once bought FEAR 2 in retail from Best Buy and there was no CD Key inside the box. But when I took it back for a refund, they told me they no longer stocked the game and wouldn't replace it for me.

  • 15:30 It looked like that guy pushed you into those mines XD

  • @James18998 that would probably be simon or lewis >:D

  • STO's planet exploration... let's not go there. STO's ground combat is utter ass. The only thing it has going is really the space part and you having your own ship.

  • Yes its a HUGE problem, iv been saying for years now that if you quit a game when you cap the game is god awful, a good game you should be able to cap in a day then still play for years because the game is just that good. warhammer online is a good example, the cap is stupidly high and takes year to reach, and when people reach it they quit cos theres nothing to do... if you ONLY play to level and thats what your doing then your a idiot who shouldn't have control of your own money

  • Progression systems annoy me more than entice me to keep playing. It's frustrating that I have to play the game for so many hours before I'm allowed to have/use a certain item.

It just shows a lack of confidence from the developers of their games' gameplay being entertaining enough for people to play.

  • Try Eve Online if u looking for diffrent kind of mmo

  • Oh no...In mmo's I hate it when there is stuff like "Do some PVP For this Cool Item" And stuff like that, i hate pvp in mmo's and I never do it yet there is always a bunch of cool items for doing, I still refuse to do it because I don't find PVP fun but still feel like I am missing Out on items but atleast I have fun doing Quests.

  • @shadowkontrol

I guess that is another reason why Skyrim has become so popular. MMO's are becoming the same in general, no matter how diffrent the mechanics are, mostly grindfests, questfests, dailies, goldselling, a retarded community, etc.

I know this as ive played both WoW, AIon, DC universe, Guild Wars, Warhammer. etc.

  • No,you're not the only one that sees a fucking problem with "Prestige" com CoD

  • If you want to explore a galaxy but spore... very in depth space exploring.. may be quite old but still...

  • To be honest, about the Space Marine multiplayer, in general it's just bad. I never enjoyed it really, the only reason I wanted to play it in the first place was to unlock more armour and make my space marine look even better. That's it.

Especially when it comes to console games, in particular, where they integrate achievements into the multiplayer. I can honestly say I am obsessed with achievements and gamerscore and all that and it annoys me when they do that, just to make me play it.

  • who needs this when you have mud and blood 2...

  • The game i play for fun was transformers WFC

  • lol at question 7:20

Worried that people will stop playing Warhammer 40k Space Marine online.

Then worried that noobs will start playing.

Noobs = more people playing it.

No people playing it = no noobs either.

  • Spore *ahem-hem*

  • @sargentscythe I know exactly what you mean!!!! EA's customer service sucks shit!

  • @CDempsey69 i ment that it has all the stuff he mentioned and more. :|

  • Dreadful

  • Personally I play SM multiplayer because I enjoy it, leveling up is fun and all, but I won't stop when I get to 41, also 10 hours is like 100% powerleveling, practically impossible.

  • I love how TB bashes WoW's combatand says TOR has good combat even though they're pretty much the same

  • @AkimboLizard They are pretty similar... but ToR's combat feels more... heavy and it also feels less automatic. I feel like my attacks are heavier and have more impact. Add in a couple of innovations like cover and while the bone and muscle set is still the same as WoW the feel of it is different. And I personally, and apparently TB, find that ToR's combat is a lot more fun than WoW's combat.

  • i was helping my disabled friend today wheeling her around..i was happy to be of aid,,but as a gesture to all those ....careful wen wheeling THE END

  • @sehrishlenotworthit

take it up with your psychiatrist, spamtard.

  • but if individuals are limping plenty of notice..way Before and now...THE END...

  • some can tolerate such dubious behaviour and stay quiet but i cant..but a knower of what lied in the intial phase and until now was known and expected..we leave this viewing and commentary...but everything has its time and place as was known...we leave..

  • but to throw the hammer onto a nail..is nothing compared to who else lies...in assocoiation..walking is such an appreciative form of nature ,,if taken away from you..things get hard...

  • a case were everyone is subsided is harsh..wen a lot is on the line..but never expect the bad in an individual who tried to help.

  • admire patience but ..they questioned the wrong person..how much laughter in that .i mean some are lucky to get even i mean bridge walks to the natural light of the air and roadside assistance is terrible

  • natural disaster ..we dont share share everything with all family and freinds somethings left private..but wat an asshole the..viewers been towards the fight..im glad we retired in all our interests and we share it to whom its invited

  • as it is proven now For good

  • but in reality we know he won..shouldnt share things with all family and freinds

  • brothers are a right piece of shit..as with others how they controled i still dont know..but i admire him

  • just as we predicted

  • I enjoyed leveling in WoW--Exploration, and being scared at low levels. I think Blizzard did they're job.

  • We could really do with a Star Wars Space Game, kinda like BSGO, but in star wars, with a little bit of land based gameplay.

    More a 70-30 space-land recipe.

  • he going to get wow back?

  • The space combat in SW isn't entirely comparable to that of Eve Online or STO. I would compare true Star Wars space combat to that of Freespace or Black Prophecy. Cockpit, twitch based combat. I think Bioware didn't even have plans for space combat, but then people started asking about it. It was also the last element they showed compared to all the other earlier innovations they had pre-launch. It kind of reminds me of the Mako missions in Mass Effect 1. A cool idea, but not quite as finished.

  • Maybe its just me, but I've played three different MMOs last year. SWTOR, RIFT, WoW. None of them are fun for me, I am thinking I'm just sick of the genre, been playing MMOs since Everquest and even before that we used to play MUDs through BBS's. Anyone else find they are becoming bored with MMOs in general?

  • @shadowkontrol oh i realy agree totaly... i got burned out by wow and havent been able to play a single mmo game more than a week since....

Its really to repeat something, over and over that makes me soo tired of mmo's.

But on the flipside i have enjoyed alot games like Arkam city and/or Starcraft 2... yes you repeat alot of stuff over and over in those games.. but you feel like you are doing something real... you know?

sorry my broken english its not my main speak : )

  • @shadowkontrol yea same, the dam quests just bore me. My plan is to wait for guild wars 2, which looks amazing in my eyes. I've been playing guildwars for ever since it came out.

  • @shadowkontrol The opposite, i played beta Rift, WoW, Star Trek Online, etc etc etc more than i can count. I however almost never subscribe very long. I'm always hungry for "the" mmo that will keep me interested, i love the genre but not the recent games :)

  • @shadowkontrol

I kind of hated them from the beginning.

I mean, I love the concept, but the execution is always pretty meh. As TB once described it: It's like watching paint dry, but at least you have some people to keep you company. Yes, that was an unfair and misleading quote out of context. Still!

  • @shadowkontrol agreeed xD

  • @shadowkontrol Try D.C. Universe Online, the hack-and-slashy combat controlled with clicks to attack is visceral enough to keep a WoW vet of four years entertained. It also doesn't hurt that I like the universe and the lore. Its also F2P now, so try away.

  • @shadowkontrol amen dude, i thought swtor would reincarnate my love for mmo's but it just didnt do it for me :(

  • i had problem with starting up Magicka through my computer, and it was brought through Steam. It was something to do with audio but it was fixed later on

  • If steam had to make sure their games weren't buggy, we'd still be waiting for skyrim...

  • TOR fails as an Old Republic game. The gameplay has nothing to do with KOTOR and everything to do with WOW.

  • I'm pretty sure that i'm one of the few people that actually plays MW3 just for fun, I actually find it extraordinarily fun to play with friends and talking to random people. The unlocked weapons and equipment just adds to the enjoyment.

  • I don't know how people are suprised. Bioware has said, they stole stuff from other games. They have also said, that it's a STORY BASED mmo. The space combat isn't a main feature of the game. It's a bonus feature. Just like pvp. It's not the main feature of the game, it's a bonus feature. The space combat is good for a mini game at this point in the game. It's just a mini game. It's a good game for this early after release.

  • I would kill for a new nice fantasy MMO. I don't like sci fi in games. I mean... LotRO more like a progress MMO instead of what we have now (Now it's a complete role play game without any real competition in PvE or PvP content. It's beautiful but not for me) would be totally awesome. Story telling shouldn't be the main feature. 2 or 3 sentences after I accepted a quest would totally fine for me. And not in a cutscene. Just a voice over the monologue.

  • thanks for this video! enjoyed it

also thank you for the mw3 FOV link!! fixed it for me

  • TB I never question your judgement but wtf is up with your bashing of KotOR? It came out in 2003 you expect it to be amazing?

  • @WeMakeGarbage How is he bashing Kotor? He has only bashed, -maybe-, one aspect of kotor; space combat, which really was not very good.

  • @Niemtol2 he also said the combat system isn't very good, which is also pretty true. Doesn't make the game bad in any way tho. As it's an RPG.

  • @Zakihashi He has never said the game was bad.

  • @Niemtol2 Read again, I said he said the combat system wasn't very good. 3:25 he says : Combat in the knights wasn't very good. Which is more then just the space combat.

  • @Zakihashi I seem to have just not read half of your comment for some reason, ignore that.

  • @Niemtol2 He did say that the normal combat system was bad too. But he also said that they were great games.

  • All I can think about is Dark Souls.

  • yes prestige mode is stupid you unlock all of your good weapons then you prestige and u lose it all for a stupid title or emblem

  • Many years ago, I looked at MMORPGs and saw the worst aspects of RPGs turned into a treadmill. Do I ever think that's a massive problem.

I do however believe I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that AAA games simply are not for me anymore. There are enough indie games for me to not care about the mainstream.

  • @Fuckyoubloodymoron Every game out there is a "treadmill", you find the pattern and repeat it ad nauseam.

  • @Xrune1234 : ]

  • The only problem I've had with a game on Steam was when I bought one of the STALKER games, and my PC was too crappy to run it. I asked nicely, and within a few hours, they'd offered to refund me.

I actually ended up not taking it, opting instead to just wait until my computer was upgraded :P

  • regarding treadmills: i never enjoyed raiding or dailies or leveling, but i did enjoy the end result of progression, THAT is fun, there's no problem with that, i enjoyed what i got after raids/dailies/whatever so much that i simply didnt care about the current enjoyment level i was experiencing.

  • Why was Epic fails of magicka with TB and Yogscast playing in background?

  • 6:27 <---- epic keystroke fail

  • If all of you people are so concerned with the space combat in TOR...

    1. Didn't TB say that BioWare want to improve it in the future? There's no need to complain then is there, and

    2. If you are so desperate for 'good' space combat, why aren't we screaming at the top of our lungs for SW: Battlefront III? I know I for one would love to see a Battlefront game with huge open-ish space combat running on 2011/12/13 technology in the near future. Just the thought of blowing up Star Destroyers in HD...

  • @Jarwycorr I meant level 30+ in the game. Reading comprehension, Bro. Reading comprehension.

  • Are you fucking kidding me? Just because they didn't have space combat in KotoR, doesn't give them an excuse to not have it in this. If you want to compete in the MMO market, you HAVE to innovate your games, not just release a multiplayer version of your old game. There are a lot of things in WoW that weren't in Warcraft III, do you think they're unnecessary too? Fuck off saying Bioware isn't about open world. DA II, ME I/II - linear story line shit. Baldur's Gate, DA I - open world awesomeness.

  • 6:29 Oops

  • Oh and also you go on about how it doesn't need good space combat for it to be a good game, while that is true that is not what the guy is complaining about. I think we would all agree SWTOR is a great game, but the space combat could be better.

  • I do not know why you are talking about the melee combat in Star Trek, for god sakes he was talking about the space combat. I agree with the guy, if you are gonna put it in, you should do it right. There is a lot of room for improvement of the space combat which they could put in. Noone will probably read this, and people will probably thumbs me down, but I'd like to get it off my mind.

  • @PlaystationPedia What he's saying was that while it had good space combat, the ground combat was lacking. They shoved all the development and focus into the space combat which isn't what you were doing most of the time. Bioware focused on their story rather than some silly side crap, which is the opposite. And for the fact that they didn't put too much into the space combat, it's good for what it is so far.

  • fuck me is this just words? Disliked, unsubscribed, closed tab :)

  • @MrWaeseL wait wut?

  • @MrWaeseL Hmmm, well derped. I suppose you shouldn't be listening to such wisdom anyway...

  • @MrWaeseL eh?

  • @MrWaeseL Did you miss the whole point that he's been doing mailboxes for a while now?

  • @Sic68Dub I didn't say he said anything, i didn't mention grinding and i completely agree with TB about games needing to be more about having fun and less about grinding for ''Shiny Things'' So i have no idea what your replying to.

  • I think its a massive problem.

  • @johanneskrauserderII I completely agree it isn't anything like it should be but was just saying it is *Supposed* to be KotoR 3.

  • I like the progression in MW3, but this is absolutely not the sole reason I play; the core reason I play is to have fun. However, I have a friend who quite literally told me "[Playing MW3 is] not about having fun, it's about leveling up." I found this baffling, furthermore, when he hits max rank it's not as if he stops and starts playing for fun, he prestiges. Why? He doesn't even to seem to find the leveling itself fun.

  • 10:00 for slow mo version of 6:30

  • @Z0mbieS1ayer Don't give me that "...someone who wishes to argue" BS.

By making that comparison, you definitely asked for the argument.

And it's not like I can't see what you mean, but it's still an absolutely incoherent comparison. What's the point? What are you trying to say by it?

  • @springplus300

Y'know what? You're not worth my time anyway.

  • @Z0mbieS1ayer then why'd you even reply to him faggot

  • @Lemileant

Because your mother told me to. You mad bro? You mad? That's what I thought. Now get back in the corner.

  • @Z0mbieS1ayer you care so much that you'd reply again?

  • @Lemileant

Not really. I just wanted to see what you'd come up with.

  • @Z0mbieS1ayer

    fail much?

  • Comment removed

  • @rotparxuT They missed the teleport spell earlier in the campaign

  • I think this MW-style of levelling up is a giant Skinner box. Y'know, where you have a rat in a box and it presses a lever to get a food pellet, so it keeps pressing the lever repeatedly in time expecting to get more and more food?

That is what I feel a lot of these multiplayer experiences have become for us. That is what I think Totalbiscuit is describing- a human Skinner box.

  • I played Bad Company 2 for a good year after I unlocked everything. In my opinion that is the mark of a good game with a fun "experience". In fact I only stopped playing when the community practically died out after the release of BF3.

  • I agree, you shouldn't play a game just to beat it, you should play it because you want to enjoy the experience of playing it. Dragon Age Origin is a fantastic example as a paragon of storytelling. All you want to do (most of us anyway) is find new Codex pages, talk to characters, search for quests. I would spend ages on the Wiki trying to figure out how to get characters to like me or how my decisions will affect the world. I couldn't give a damn about the Archedemon half the time!

  • Honestly, was I the only one that liked the Mako sections in ME1? I don't care how bad the controls were, the fact that it was there was enough to make the universe feel actually sizeable, and improved the EPIC feel that ME2 in my opinion lacked.

  • x-wing alliance wing commander series mm bring back allot of good times :)

  • Ahhh remember the days of CoD 2, now that was a great game I played for some mindless fun... because it was fun. I just spent 3 days on BF3 getting the L85, did I enjoy getting there... fuck no, I actually despised getting the gun, but I played for the goal.

  • im so happy that they're leaving a progression system out of cs:go. cant wait for that game. i did actually like the assignment system they put in to unlock the new guns in battlefield3 BTK tho. much more enjoyable then simply "get moar points !!"

  • I usually don't scream when i'm watching youtubes

  • I think games and mmos in particular have a tremendous potential to world build on a sci fio or fantasy scale. Yes 'the story' won't be told as linearly as in a book or film and you won't be able to make what is in a sense an interactive movie but instead what you can do is create a truly immersive experience where gamers can explore a whole multiverse of planets, stories and characters in the way they like, that being the case the 'grind' needn't exist.

  • @farshnuke It's a great idea in theory, but that's a lot of writing and coding. It takes millions upon millions of dollars to make a current MMO. Now you're asking for 5-6 times the content, at the bare minimum for that experience. The company fielding that endeavor would likely need a billion dollars over several years to create it, and hope that they can make a profit on their investment. I doubt you'll ever find a company willing to take that much risk for comparatively little return.

  • @ajjdgj6tmgedvnmtmek And that my friend is why I am an open source guy. If you have a passion for a story or project, you don't care about cost and work.

  • @farshnuke An online game, with no Grinding for the story to be revealed.

i like that idea. So how about pvp? no pvp right? Monster Hunter Style then, Armour is the only limiting factor?

  • @AfroJeffrey With an entire multiverse of stories and quests you would have the freedom to only play the missions you enjoy. Someone else may look at your playstyle and grimace at how grindey it seems to them but you're only playing the stories and missions that interest you.

  • @farshnuke

That's so cute. You remind me of myself before I played my first MMO.

Keep dreaming, but don't hold your breath.

  • @Fuckyoubloodymoron I'm approaching it as a writer. The challenge and scale of writing for an entire multiverse ecosystem of players is a fascinating idea and not one I would dismiss so readily either. With greater connectivity comes greater options for collaboration and I can foresee a time when writers and coders around the globe team up to attempt such a thing.

  • @farshnuke There was an mmo called LOVE i think falls into your comment... maybe?

  • @jacilony I must look that up.

  • Showoff... :D

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you Halibit for making these WoW noobs acknowledge the existence of Knights of the Old Republic.

This is not for the WoW crowd, this is a fucking KOTOR game.

  • @BrotherOfMetal2 No need to call Wow players "Wow noobs"

  • In addition... Your judging of what Bioware games should and should not be is based on their decline after KotOR. Please play Baldur's Gate 2 again and say freedom is not a good thing. Hell, even KotOR had non-linear elements that blended together seamlessly!

  • I think regarding the Old Republic, you have to remember that KotOR was SEVEN YEARS AGO. You cannot possibly hold the newer one ONLY to the standards of the first.

  • @AguyinaRPG

    good point

  • @AguyinaRPG

The point was that it's a different style of game. Also, gameplay hasn't improved that much. X-Wing Alliance was pretty much the pinnacle of Star Wars space combat, and that was HOW long ago?

  • @Fuckyoubloodymoron I don't understand why you'd even add it in the game if you're going to half ass it. I don't agree with the "fix it later". Add in a feature wholesale unless it's absolutely needed, and if not, then make it the product people want later.

  • @AguyinaRPG

Well, I do remember when Rebel Assault was released to seemingly universal acclaim. A bad omen of things to come.

Maybe they thought people would be content with a little rail shooter minigame. Not every feature HAS to be extremely deep, especially when you could make an entire game out of it.

I think what might be cool is a complete space combat game that integrates with TOR as an optional feature for people who have both games.

  • Lol 6:32!

  • 6:32 hahahahha

  • I agree with you on the whole "gamers need a goal" issue but that was not the question that Jonno asked you, same thing with the starwars question ...

  • if u want a good mindless game go Gears of war 3 realy nothing worth to unlock with progressions sept chars and weapon skins which is pointless when yor getting blown into chunks

  • 6:30 for lolz

  • @tearinguplincoln annnnd again at 10:50.

  • @magickage yes, well to be completely honest about it i laughed so hard right then that i felt like i had to comment right then. Not knowing that it was about to happen about 20 more times, lol.

  • Anyone else notice that at the end it says "If you enjoyed it, dislike the video and let us know why you didnt?" Typo?

  • @Xavin88 Nope, just look at it in context. It's a fairly old, meaning uncommon, way to say it but it's not a typo.

  • @Xavin88 You took part of a sentence out of context. Try reading both lines of it together.

  • I totally agree with you about the journey/destination message. I play CoD for fun, the CoD community plays CoD to be good at it and mock those who aren't. I just casually coast by, having fun. Although I hate MW2/3. Dreadful.

  • Jericho!

  • lol @ 6:29 nice job there

  • Thank you SO VERY MUCH for the MW3 fix!

  • >Bioware does best at story telling.

    Watch this: xoOQdU3zMzM

    ... Accept payments in kisses.

    Quality Bioware storytelling!

  • >Bioware does best at story telling

too bad that seems to be taking a backseat or going backwards as of late

  • Was anyone else screaming "USE TELEPORT! ASA SPACE!" the whole time?

  • @rotparxuT they missed the teleport spell XD

  • @rotparxuT This video isn't about the gameplay. Just FIY

  • @rotparxuT they missed it :D

  • @rotparxuT Of course not, Did you even watch their magicka series? Episode 8 They managed to miss it. Lets just say I died from laughter

  • @rotparxuT Every time they play Magicka.. Seriously, QFQFASA and ASA, how hard can it be lol :')

  • @rotparxuT nope

  • @rotparxuT Yup...

  • @rotparxuT They actually never picked up the teleport spell. They walked right past it when they were near it.

  • @rotparxuT they hadnt unlocked it...

  • @rotparxuT They missed the spellbook and fell straight from the tower >_>

  • @rotparxuT when they were at the place, where the teleport book was, they blew up, and fell off the wall thing, and only one of them survived :P that means they cant do that
