  • I have the exact bike same color and with all the same sounds. Mine will buck at low speeds and sometimes stalls coming off a light. When I pull the choke part way out it runs like a dream. Why these companies build products like this always amazes me. I may be looking at buying an FJR 1300 night and day right. Happy motoring...

  • @lost4ever333,

I put a vieo together about throttle blipping... It explains how and why Roadies do that...

    Good luck with the FJR

  • @RJPHOENIX I appreciate your reply to my post, I found info on the road star clinic that helped the bike run better. I adjusted the primary mixture screw on the bottom of the carb and it made a noticable improvement. Your video helped a lot thanks...

  • Thanks a lot for this video , very instructive.. I have looking for this bike Road Star Midnight Silverado 2007 for quite a bit, when I finally got it, it sounded like a diesel engine I thought it was something loose, It had only 8000 miles when I got it in 2010 but someone told me that they sound like that unfortunately I didnt know anybody who had it but this video solve all my doubts.. thanks a lot and ride safe.

  • Thanks, this cleared up a few of the remaining sounds from my recently purchased 07. At first I was alarmed by all the different noises but as I have learned what each one is, it has put me at ease. A couple you didn't get are the buzzing noise you get when using the brakes from a high speed due to the drilled rotors and the "knocking" sounds the engine makes under constant load. Great vid and here's to the Yami Road Star!

  • I had a 2003 road star 1600 with a transmission that was so noisy it literally drove me to the point that I traded it in. I loved that bike but yamaha insisted that the trans sound was normal. They would not replace it no matter how much i begged and told me to live with it. I drove other Roadstars, trannys were quiet. Go figure.

  • Wow, I have the same bike and love it. I just bought a Tsukayu fairing with GPS/radio.

You should get some Kuryakyn Iso grips, best grips I've ever owned in over 40 years of riding and check out the Road Star Clinic for great information on bike repairs, mods and various information.

PS: They have some great ideas on solving the the headlight rattle, place cork or rubber on the tabs on the headlight, only hear it at 70 mph. Nice ride.

  • I mean the water jackets on a watercolled bike, not this bike!!

  • Always have liked the look of a white bike! My 2005 black & white Roadie has Freedom Performance true-duals and I love the sound. I've noticed that most people who complain about V-twin engine noise have never owned an air-cooled V-twin before, most rode multi-cylinder water-cooled bikes. I've owned numerous V-twin, mostly Harleys, in my life and I can assure you that they all pretty much sound like this bike does. the water jackets do a good job of muffling the engine.

  • Kool vid, thx bruh. Just picked up a silverado midnite 2006 with 5k, I LOVE IT!

  • That was great! I just bought my awesome 2003 but all the mechanical noise has been bothering me a bit. I guess some of it is the push rods which help the bike have a low center of gravity compared to OHC(?). So - anyway - glad that all these noises are normal. I am gonna squeeze the front brake and see what happens.

  • beautiful machine, man; yamaha is my favorite behind big dog; but for the money, yamaha is really the best out there, as far as with the major bike manuf./

    this is a nice ride.

  • Briliant THX!!

  • Good video.

YouTube needs more things like this to help people. Good job.
