do you do stitching for guys? Real basic. Guys, and I'm sorry to generalize here.,may only want to stitch as a way to fasten two things together. fashion and even quality workmen ship isn't paramount.

for canvas and leather and soft cloth pouches (protect instrumentation).
plastic sheeting.
for example to repair covers -
the basics... maybe closer to upholstery work.... that's stitching right? lol
@zanetti2000 did you ever find what you were looking for? I'm looking to learn how to do these things too. I need to stitch together things like leather pieces and make book covers. The problem is, I can't do it without making it buckle when I glue it to the gray board.

I use this method but with only one layer of thread and I wax the threas so it won't tangle and knot up while I'm sewing
