Just watched this episode with my nephew who is 12. Love this one. The addition of Melody Anderson and Edward Mulhare makes it more iconic. Don't remember ever seeing this one back in the day when I was a little kid, but I was stoked to see Melody Anderson (best known for playing Dale in 'Flash Gordon') in a BSG episode

The show became great at this stage, because instead of single story lines that concluded at the end of each episode( Like the early Star Trek in the 1960's) they followed on with the previous story line....and wouldn't you know it... just when it all got interesting Lorne Greene died. With his passing, this effectively meant the end of this series as we knew it.
