can I ask you a question about uv mapping? I need to do uv mapping for the whole scene with all the objects in it. I could do uv mapping for each object apart but not the whole scene, because I need to export the whole scene at once to MD2 file and render in opengl. the scene was already imported from 3d max to blender
For the unrapping, would u do the same thing in anim8or? Do u or anyone know how to unrap something in Anim8or so I can make the textures in Photoshop? Thank u. 5 Stars. Very nicely done :)!
Aha, Never mind... But I have alot of faces and some are REALLY small... This is going to take awhile to find out which one is which, lol. Great video. It's easy to understand.
Same with me. I have an entire human body that needs texturing. It has almost 100 faces! It would have twice as much if I hadn't used the mirror modifier. But when I look at UV maps for character faces everything is in one picture, simply stretched out. Anyone know how to do that?
Does your item have to be ONE object for this to work!?!??!?!

If you don't want to bother selecting edges and marking them. Just select all the faces, then press U unwrap, then press U unwrap smart projections.

How can I mark seems if I wanted to apply an UV map to text?
I created text and extruded it a bit and now I want to apply a texture on it. Any chance you can help out?

I would like to point out that the singular form of "vertices" is "vertex." :)
Cheers!
thecreatrix 2 years ago
1 'point' = vertice, more than one vertice = vertex, more than one vertex = vertices.
Is that right?
RedRumRobot 2 years ago
Actually: 1 point = vertex. Multiple points = vertices. It's geometry. ;) Wikipedia or Google it.
thecreatrix 2 years ago
so vertex == vertice ?? Sorry, this is all pretty new to me :)
RedRumRobot 2 years ago 2
No, actually there is no such word as "vertice". :) It's just vertex (single point) and vertices (multiple points).

@thecreatrix you're cool

..or just keep in mind that "Vertices" is the plural for the word "Vertex" :p
