  • For fook's sake, Francie!

  • R.I.P. Tom Leonard 21/9/2011 he loved this song.

  • pig toll tax hehe

  • @rebeccawilsonx algernon caruthers (however you spell it)

  • I FOUND OUT TODAY THIS SONG. IAM FROM POLAND BUT HELL.... I LUV THIS SONG

  • iam fucking scared because its like half past 12am and these flashy pictures. And bucher boy creepy song. BUT AWESOME. PLEASE NEVER LISTEN THIS AT NIGHT WHEN YOU ALONE

  • 0:38! WTF xD

  • Sinead is much sexier since she got thick fat

  • Tá brón orm a rá Sinéad í féin - ach ná sí ag cuir eagla ar na capail - sin é an rud nios tabhachta - tá sí go hálainn - a guth is a aghaidh. Ba brea liom a bheith i mo shui an lá ar fad ag eisteach lei agus ag feicail uirthi - ach ni bheidh a tharla sin riamh.

  • This song always reminds me of heartbroken maidens who decide to cash in their chips due to their unrequited love for young males who ply their trade in the meat processing industry

  • To all you paranoids out there. You do not even understand what subliminal is. First of all, subliminal images are images you perceive only unconsciously. In other words images that you saw and don't even know you saw. Here pretty much everybody saw everithing there was to be seen. So don't worry, you are not programmed to anything

  • Whether or not subliminal messages work, it is disgusting that you posted this on youtube where unsuspecting individuals can view it. I am studying the book "The Butcher Boy" and wanted to listen to and view the lyrics of this song but instead you fill the screen with rubbish. What is the point? You have ruined an otherwise touching, poigniant song you cretin!

  • Beautiful song, but after watching the video, I have sudden, irrepressible suicidal urges...whoever edited this video is a weirdo. Whats with the morbid subliminal messages?

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Listen to the song, but don't watch the video because negative images? Seriously, the song is about a girl who gets pregnant and hangs herself. It's beautiful song and one of my favorites, but lets not gloss over the meaning here.

  • Good version of a real family favourite! (my family any way)

  • For a more affecting version \\\ A Bold Young Farmer by Eva Cassidy

  • Do Not look at this video. While the song is beautiful the person who has posted this has embeded flashing images, that are all very negative, they are designed to encourage suicide. Not uncommon on the net, dont be alarmed, listen to the song but avoid the video. Unfortunately there are people out there that derive some sense of something from this behaviour. Again a beautiful song but avoid the images. May your God walk with you and if there is no God we are never alone we have a shared life..

  • has anyone actually tried to look at the subliminal picture? that mess is creep. its a little girl holding a butcher knife with a rabbit in her hand

  • This song brings me to tears

  • What's with the subliminal noose at 2:21?

  • Clancy brothers blow this away. Too glossy to be so tragic....

  • All I wanted was the song--- Thanks for that. As for any weirdness--- I don't care, thanks for posting the song, whatever anyone's agenda....

    Whatever-

    Thanks

  • I have always loved this song. However, after watching this version I have a compelling urge to travel to London and execute our Prime Minister. Weird. Taxi!!!!!!!

  • This is a beautiful song but for some reason I feel I have been programmed by the CIA.

  • than ex for thwe em poest, regaRDLESS, NO retardness in gendered

  • Very nice music!

  • This is a hauntingly pognant song but the images flashing on and off are distracting and unnecessary.

  • wish i could find that "Beautiful Bundoran" song by her too!! ... anyone ?

  • nice.

you have the lilt in mcabe.

    thank you.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG, EVEN WITH IT'S SUBLIMINAL IMAGES!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!! IN MUSIC, THERE ISN'T AND NEVER WILL BE ANYONE AS ORIGINAL OR BETTER THAN SINEAD O'CONNOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Such a brilliant and sad song. The only version of this that is better is Tommy Makem and the Clancy brothers. What I dont understand is how someone posted this very meaningful song and has put some very strange and inappropriate images in it. Ah well nil a fhios agam.

  • this song reminds me of when i was really young...used to make me really sad when i listened to it tho!! still does.....what with the flashing picture its kinda freaky!?

  • Brillant version by Sinead. I notice that it differs from the Kirsty Mc Coll version. In Mc Coll version the girl in question is either pregnant or has had a child. Not quite sure as it years since i heard her version.

  • Funny it sounds so much like an Irish song but it is actually the Irish version of an English song just with Dublin town replacing London city and one or two other very slight modifications.

  • i have been hoping for a long while that someone would post this version, ....

    Thank you very much !!!

  • Pretty, pretty, pretty. Sinead does a very nice job of this oh, so sad song.

  • great Song, great book, great film. BTW, have a look at the novel and film as well (very sad and tragic, but as well genuinely funny at the same time) this song refers to, Sinead also appears in the film playing the Virgin Mary! Great piece of art, involving sad/tragic/macabre subjects in the history of Ireland like domestic violence and child abuse by Catholic clergymen (still a topical issue).

  • Great song, lovely video but what is with the picture that keeps on flashing on the screen? LOL!!

  • The answer is that the picture flashing on the screen is confirmation of the total childishess of the person who posted it!!!!!!!

  • @sasmanwayne i think the poster of this vid was trying to put in francis brady from "the butcher boy' movie. but seems kinda unnecessary really...

  • @sasmanwayne the real answer is u are pedantic sicko so get a life and just listen to the music

  • @jimmyriddle100 Here's a pedantic explanation of the expression ''get a life!'' --- - - It is always used by people incapable of mounting an argument - or - by people who are saying ''whatever you do, don’t ask me to be responsible for my actions'' - Been to 140 countries, married to a girl 25 years younger than me with looks to die for, live in an amazing city on the top floor of an apartment overlooking the river, have money left over every month - - reckon I've actually GOT a life pal !!!

  • @sasmanwayne Heres another expression you may be familiar with- "Get over yourself"

  • @sasmanwayne I know I thought hold on sad song and then ghost showing up. well all I could say is seek and find. the person that has done this will find what they are looking for. how immature and insenstive.......im there focusing on d words n bammmmmmmmm

  • Is it not Francie Brady from the novel "The Butcher Boy"?

  • @Hannahpotamus thats what i was thinking... but its pretty inappropriate imo.

  • Sinead can sing a very simpl esong and make it a piece of art moving our hearts. No other vovalist can do thatHow come I have never heard this.Thank you so much
