yeah man i have one and i cant of any flaws! its amazing its the only kb i use besides other programs. i do have a yamaha cs2x but i only use it to get some samples from it but my baby is NORD LEAD. this kb is great! i dedicated this kb to lord Shiva because this kb is a bad ass! praise Allah! LOL!!!

How do you download this sysex file?

@3mcclaingirls You download the sysex files and then you load them onto your nord lead/rack 2x (there is a program called sysex libarian which you can use for that purpose. There also is a guide how to do it within the downloaded files)

@sentokan The Virus has the same possibilities, and TONS of features the Nord Lead doesn't have. On the paper it should be able to do the Nord's sound, but I don't think its the case.

I haven't tested them side by side, but I know musicans who rarely uses their Virus TI. They all say the same thing: it doesn't fit into their mixes, as it is so thick it occupies all the frequencies.

Furthermore, they are completely different to operate, due to the difference in complexity.

I have yet to figure out how to transfer sysex files to my NL2X using a computer. Can it be done in logic? What can I use?

i read in a review that it is annoying that the knobs have parameter jumps when skipping from one preset to another (unlike endless-fader synths) --

but ain´t that a "problem" that every classic analog with presets had, from jupiter to prophet -- i mean these are those things you have to deal with intuitively, isn´t it!

my alternative choice option is a novation nova/supernova, they are a bargain at ebay! -- what do you think about it?

@MoveOverCasanova definately, this is not a problemo :) only few synths has endless encoders (NL3 for example).

Novation is the different beast. Different Character.

Nord is nasty and it cut thru ANY sound in arrangement.

Must have for psy trance/fullon.

@MoveOverCasanova In this case, the synth is so simple that you in most cases basically can hear what is going on, and from there, easily make changes. Therefore endless knobs aren't needed. However, of couse it would be a plus.

One more thing: the knobs feel so good!

@MoveOverCasanova I forgot, no way to load samples on to it, not lcd screen, no weighted keys and no O.S. so you cannot use the nord sound library.

@numanuma20 It is a plain brutal sound machine. And it has a small display to show a little what's going on. It is pure synthesis, no samples. You can in- and -export presets by using sysEX, which is going through the MIDI cables.

@PartyNeverStop I use to own one, but it did not have piano sounds. Also you could not download songs to the nord 2x like you can with all the other nord keyboards. I go a junio di instead, because the Sam Ash where I like do not carry any Nord products except for the Nord 2x rack.
