  • ***PUN ALERT*** 100s of 100s notes!

  • where can i buy that concert ?

  • I remember Edge of Insanity (Steve Smith of Journey was the drummer for that record) and still have it on vinyl. Tony MacAlpine was my favorite shredder. He had more tone and better compositions than most of the gluttony of shredders that were crawling out of the woodwork back then. It's good to see his reputation has only grown. And I'm sure that everyone watching knows what an amazing pianist he is, also. A little Chopin? Tony's your man. God bless him.

  • @EC66OK Yeah, that album still evokes the spirit of the age when I listen to it. He really hit the perfect combination of passion and technique on that and Maximum Security.

  • Tony is the best guitarman.

  • the drummer drummed for Yngwie in the Live at Budokon dvd in 1994. I hella recognized him lol

  • terrana is THE drummer!!!

  • who's the drummer???

  • @kiskiriw Mike Terrana. I posted a couple of NAMM vids of him titled "Terrana In The Cage", and there are a lot of other better vids of course. :-)

  • terrana is a machine

  • as far as it sounds with the snare im almost positive hes right on track. could just be the muffle of the video quality. which isnt that bad considering what it prolly sounded like in that building lol!!

  • I saw him once at a guitar clinic at this small music store in hartford CT. He was amazing. He even signed my guitar. My friend had his first album edge of insanity on vinyl and got the signed. Tony was impressed.

  • Favorite MacAlpine song. Also, THIS VIDEO HAS NO DISLIKES. HELL YEAH

  • @LEAFXCEED only a complete idiot would dislike this song. and if he dislikes it he s pretty much a justin bieber fan.

  • So refreshing to see this. He's not dressed up, not prancing about screaming at the crowd, just chilled out and playing like hell. Why isn't T-Mac better known!?

  • @YummyBananaFish "Why isn't T-Mac better known!?"

Probably because he doesn't dress up and prance around the stage, screaming at the crowd? ;-) Kidding. Anyway, he used to do all that stuff ... all but the screaming at the crowd bit. But I think Tony has a pretty good following for a guy whose fame is based solely on his musicianship.

  • @IYAMNI Haha I think you're entirely right.

  • i have to say that T Mac is probably the most well rounded guitar virtuoso. his alternate picking technique is just as good as his legato and his sweeping. he isn't really well known for one specific technique because he is good at all of them

  • I say he's better than Malmsteen. O.o... :p

  • i have a hunch that maybe tony played and do recording for some computer games like street fighter and what not...it is just really sound game-ish type of music.. just awesome

  • is that Mike Terrana on drums? amazing drummer.

  • him and george lynch are the gods. what a combo.

  • Comment removed

  • he phrases symetrical patterns like no one i have ever seen he is incredible a fast position shifts that sound just amazing.

He also pinch harmonics like no one else and you have got to love his tap sweeps.

    Tony is just incredible.

  • tony is da man! i was 18 when i got this lp. now almost 36 and still one of my best partners evah.....

  • @heavyload75

hey bro..ya the maximum security album....I bought when I was 18...now im 41....its the best

  • wears like hiphop tony.

  • Tony RULES!!!!

  • incredibile!

  • I wanna hear some of his amazing pinchs

  • dynamic duo in the best instrumental song ever¡¡¡

  • wow, he plays it so clean and in good time

  • thats why hes a god =]

  • That has to be Mike Terrana on the drums O.o

  • the one and only beast

  • Yes, it sounds offbeat but maybe its because of th bad sound quality. ??

  • KILLER X1000

  • Don't know if this is just me, but the drums sound really off most of the time... Strange timing on the snare.

  • Dunno. Terrana is a pretty tight player and he's playing with a track.. I listened a couple times and it sounds like he's hitting solid.

  • IT's all those tripletts thats he playing AND THE SOUND RECORDING

  • @FrankTdrumz

yeh it is way off made me laugh actually

  • yes!

  • Maximum Security is one of the greatest instrumental albums ever recorded. fact.

  • ...yes,he's GOD.

  • He's so underrated. I'm glad he's gettin his due with Vai's band. His best is still the solo work

  • An absolute tour de force. MacAlpine's strongest song. So hard to play this cleanly. He's unreal!

  • this guy can play fast AND well sounding! So for me he is best guitarist.

  • He's the best guitarist

And this is his best Song

    He's a GOD

  • MAster MAcalpine ,the true guitar God.

  • Yoohoo! Thanks for posting. always wondered what it would be like live. Was big on this back in 93.

  • there's a reason he's known as a 'guitar master' .. he's not too shabby on the old ebony and ivories also ......

  • dude the best guitarist ever

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
