I remember Edge of Insanity (Steve Smith of Journey was the drummer for that record) and still have it on vinyl. Tony MacAlpine was my favorite shredder. He had more tone and better compositions than most of the gluttony of shredders that were crawling out of the woodwork back then. It's good to see his reputation has only grown. And I'm sure that everyone watching knows what an amazing pianist he is, also. A little Chopin? Tony's your man. God bless him.
@EC66OK Yeah, that album still evokes the spirit of the age when I listen to it. He really hit the perfect combination of passion and technique on that and Maximum Security.
as far as it sounds with the snare im almost positive hes right on track. could just be the muffle of the video quality. which isnt that bad considering what it prolly sounded like in that building lol!!
I saw him once at a guitar clinic at this small music store in hartford CT. He was amazing. He even signed my guitar. My friend had his first album edge of insanity on vinyl and got the signed. Tony was impressed.
So refreshing to see this. He's not dressed up, not prancing about screaming at the crowd, just chilled out and playing like hell. Why isn't T-Mac better known!?
Probably because he doesn't dress up and prance around the stage, screaming at the crowd? ;-) Kidding. Anyway, he used to do all that stuff ... all but the screaming at the crowd bit. But I think Tony has a pretty good following for a guy whose fame is based solely on his musicianship.
i have to say that T Mac is probably the most well rounded guitar virtuoso. his alternate picking technique is just as good as his legato and his sweeping. he isn't really well known for one specific technique because he is good at all of them
i have a hunch that maybe tony played and do recording for some computer games like street fighter and what not...it is just really sound game-ish type of music.. just awesome

Don't know if this is just me, but the drums sound really off most of the time... Strange timing on the snare.

Dunno. Terrana is a pretty tight player and he's playing with a track.. I listened a couple times and it sounds like he's hitting solid.
