Blue is good , but if he goes agianst other tkd wtf fighters hope he'll ace them , im pretty sure the red one is really nervous he could beat him if he goes in super fast along with a round house kick and while he was hugging him he could have moved out one inch and done a round house kick to the side of the chest protector is still near the protector so he'll get a point.

sorry lads but WTF is not practical - why would anyone want to learn and try to kick from a centimeter away from the opponents body? it is not effective and it doesn'tt do anything but look foolish in the eyes of the MA world. hat is why ITF Taekwon-Do is much better - punch and kick, not just kick. Taekwon.

@MadeInBGR You are missing the whole point. WTF and ITF Taekwondo are similar except for the SPORT side of WTF. Of course sport TKD is not practical for self-defence, that's why it is a SPORT. In Olympic sparring you need to leard how to kick, as you said, a centimeter away from your opponent's body so you can get the point and score quickly. Only the traditional side of TKD is good for self-defence, which is included in both WTF and ITF.

@MadeInBGR "TaeDo" (I mean at WTF style) is much more spectacular than ITF style..

I'm agreed that ITF is more efficient than WTF but's not even on close a spectacular martial art like WTF.

I did both styles.. but a very good WTF Fighter is way better than a very good ITF Fighter. you must to confese that.. the ITF practitioners doesn't know to jump, doesn't know aerial kicks.. while the WTF fighters kicks almost only from jumps.. we fight almost only in the air. from a jump I can do 4 kicks!

VERY interesting in comparing top level guys from both styles. I would say a WTF guy would be hard to defeat if he has the jumping ability PLUS solidness; whereas an ITF guy woud be hard to beat if he has the solidness PLUS speed.

In any case, I alwasy believe that in a REAL fight, the only condition in which you can savely throw high kicks is when you have super speed AND balance. Two examples are Hwang Jung Lee and Dorian Tam Do Riang, do you agree?

Has anyone ever thought about the fact that a kick is a kick and a punch is a punch i mean I Train In Tae Kwon Do and my class is part of WTF, but even if i was to go switch to lets say Muay Thai my round house would still be a roundhouse.

It all boils down to the instructor in the end and how hard the student is willing to train themselves.

this is competion tkd they have rules and technique that they use they are not street fighting. boxers have rules and that is a form of martial art would you say look at the boxers why dont they just throw a kick or you look at mma and say why dont they just gouge out the eyes I think you need to study the olympic side of this and try it yourself before you judge

@pr55666 That was real. Too many people look at something from the outside and try to judge something. I'm a third dan in TKD and I won nationals and state a few times. I have ALSO done boxing, Muay Thai, Judo and Kendo. I can honestly say they all are strong in their own way. Every one of them have something to give us as martial artist. I'm not saying MMA is the way to go because I also believe of "jack of all trades, but a master of none" theory. Big ups to MMA btw. Apples to oranges people

To all my TKD people out there, we do not do WTF Taekwondo, but Olympic or Kukkiwon Taekwondo is more appropriate. An instructor just corrected me and said WTF organizes tourneys, but don't delegate the move sets or poomses. Kukkiwon does all that...and those are two separate entities.
