This is a very good quality video in comparison to some I've seen shot with the Vado HD, and this has made up my mind to buy one!

Nasty yellow. I know it all too well, when I moved into my flat it was dark red and that obnoxious yellow. I painted the rooms light colours to reflect the little light I allow into my rooms.

I keep it pretty simple: edit in Windows Movie Maker (on Vista), make sure aspect ratio is set to 16:9, and publish as Windows Media 720p

yeah, I don't use the case anymore -- I hate those things they attract all kinds of dirt, dust, and grime.

The image quality is great on my TV through the included HDMI. I haven't tried composite (no need).

I went with the VadoHD over the MinoHD because the Vado has double the internal storage (8GB vs. 4GB) and an HDMI out.

Most reviews say the Mino does have slightly better video quality -- which I'm okay with.

I ordered mine direct from Creative Labs the day it was available. I'm not sure if either cams have hit stores yet.

I wouldn't mind spending an extra minute or two, opening an SDHC package to pop into the Zi6. The Zi6 and a memory card would still be cheaper than a Vado HD.

The HDMI allows for a 1080i output signal, which means no black bars around the image on my TV.

The Zi6's removable storage would be nice in certain situations, as would the ability to use "normal" batteries -- although the latter is offset by the inability to charge via USB.

There are "USB Cell Batteries". USBCellDOTcom has them. You can charge those via USB and pop them into your camera. But the downside is that they don't last too long.

I don't know. If I were charging something with my laptop, I'd want it plugged in so it wouldn't run low on juice. But if I had it plugged in, that means there's somewhere to plug in a charger with some rechargeable batteries.

No, it can't capture still shots. I looked through the Vado HD's product page on Amazon, and I checked Creative's website.

On their website, it says you can take stills from the video, using their included software. But it's basically pausing the video and saving that image. You could do that with any camcorder with Windows Movie Maker, or I'm sure any other video editing software.
