  • wow you actually got it...nice

  • @animedrawer84

    Haha yeah thanks (:

  • @animedrawer84 Hi well for my next birthday I was giving the option of selling my xt12 goto dobsonian to upgrade to a xt14 truss tube intelliscope....I was wondering since I'm a begginer do you think that a goto would be better(since I don't really know te sky and it tracks the object automatically) or do you think that I would also fine with an intelliscope? Also can give me some pros and cons between both of this dobs?

  • @animedrawer84

For the xt12 goto you wouldn't need to move the scope manually and tracking is automatic so you wouldn't need to bother about moving the scope every few seconds at high magnifications. The xt14 has a higher aperture so you would be able to see more with 28% more light gathering power. However, the xt 12 does already provide views that should be good enough. If you eventually wish to do astrophotography someday, you wouldn't need to upgrade your scope.

  • @starsoffyre thank you...well I already got a friend and I'll be selling it to him...later on if i deicide to do some astrophotograhpy i decided that I will buy a cassegrain

  • @animedrawer84

Okays (: I wouldn't really recommend a cassegrain for astrophotography (or even visual viewing), though. The focal length is usually too high for deep sky objects unless you use a focal reducer

  • @starsoffyre Hi well I was doing some research on dobsonians on the Internet and found out this Meade lightbridge 16.....since I am going to purchase the xx14i from Orion......Meade 16 and Orion 14 are about the same price should I go for it or should I stick with the xx14i....portability no problem(big truck:)

  • @animedrawer84

Yes i think you should go for the meade 16 due to its higher aperture. As aperture goes up, the price per inch increases exponentially. However, if you do not know the night sky very well, then you should get the orion 14. Otherwise, the meade 16 would be a much better choice :D
