I am going to see a new super group, Yoso with Tony Kaye & Billy Sherwood of Yes and Bobby Kimball of Toto. Have my tickets for August 17 at BB Kings in New York City.
Really cool chop! I really like the styling! When you repositioned the tone generator did you have to make an entirely new wire loom for all the connections/ did you modify the original loom by adding to it? Any type of other cool mods on there...I couldn't see exactly what the switches in teh cheek block did.
A HAMMOND organ is not only the most awsome musical instrument in the world but also a work of art, seeing a Hammond B3 hacked up like that is very disturbing. It's like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
My C3 and 122 sounds better. Hint, If you have a Leslie, turn off the vibrato. Love Hammonds, hate the vibrato! Nice gear and room, thanks for video, cool!
Tony - You are the best! You have been #1 in my book for years. Bought my A-100 to try to play with the feel and learn in your footsteps. Hope I have the chance to meet the great one someday! Tony gave YES it's flavor in the day and his fans know it!! Thanks for this video. Send my regards from S. Dakota.
Yeah I agree...I think Tony's organ playing and sound were great on the early Yes albums. Rick and Patrick are super talented but I prefer Tony's organ playing/sound over theirs. IMO, Geoff Downes organ work on "Drama" sounds like a "tip of the hat" to Tony!
nice

Hello what connection do this hammond organ has???

It sounds good but the cabinet looks pathetic and doesn't have the charm and authority of the real vintage B3 cabinet. Just my opinion.

Hi, anyone knows how the tone generator was moved, how is supposed to enlarge the wires?

That is my old B3, a 1964, the best sounding b3 made.... i sold it to him when I quit playing Gregg Giuffria

The first time i heart the awsome Hammond sound of Tony Kaye, was on the Yes song Yours is no disgrace.

LOVE that song!! i wonder what his drawbar settings were for that distinctive sound
EyMeng 2 years ago
No special drawbar settings. Its a overdrive sound only possible with tube amplifiers.

i've gotten it close with my B3...I know its not all out...more like 888800888...but the distortion from his is different, less gravelly

have you seen what Keith Emerson did to his?
EyMeng 2 years ago
No I haven't, not sure if I want to.
19dt66 2 years ago
@EyMeng Keith used an L-100, not a B-3, to throw around.

Tony was pretty awesome, never got into the whole synth era too much, mostly stuck with his Hammond and maybe just a bit of Moog.
