wooow, this should be the assyrians least concern, they should be happy they are in a country where they can drink chai and eat doma in peace. They should advance higher in school and the army, and engage in some of the government politics to show that they can integrate in moscow, and get more assyrian to go live there. They are lucky they are in moscow the city with the most billionares in the world, there are way more oppurtunities,

Basically the Moscow government is considering to get rid of shoe repair boths wich were mostly held by Assyrians since the WWI as they didn't speak Russian and most of them weren't citizens. It is "city's character" by now as the journalists argue - a part of history. Back at the Soviet times Assyrian diaspora was well known. Now there are mostly educated assyrians living in the city nevertheless there are still shoe boths (my aunt has one). Do we need this kind of legacy?
