I am canadian & am satisfied with our health care system.. we pay taxes but not nearly what you americans pay for it (private)on top of the deductables etc.knowing that if we are ever sick, no matter how much or little we have we are taken care of is a big weight off our shoulders. No canadian would trade our system for yours & if our govt ever tried thay would have a rebellion on their hands...btw go to my home page & watch the vid i have on senator Kucinich
I'm not Canadian myself but I just read Jessabelle303's comment and she said that Canada's growing population is what's making it worse. If that's the case, than the United States, with a population of at least three times of Canada would have a serious problem with socialized medicine.
I'm also tired of people saying it's not socialized because it is. Anything government run is socialized. PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE SOCIALIZED!
The issue about wait time is true, but completely unrelated. It's because our population is growing faster then we can train doctors. It's a problem with our medical school system (which are private, btw)...
Also the wait time is not NEARLY as bad as they make it out to be.
We love our system. It costs us way less then yours because we don't have the greedy middle man insurance companies taking all the money that should go directly to doctors. Seriously, do it.

well i live in Finland(northern europe) and yes i like universal healthcare i couldnt even imagine what it would have costed to me for 3surgerys... the "ppl dying on a waiting lines" is complete BS, so is the claim "we dont have equipment or doctors thats also bunch of big BS, if u need medical attention u get it asap. i've been in surgery 3times and i cant think anything that would have been bad... well it will raise taxes but in ur case i think its the rich who get the raises
spending, and spent what Americans do I think a lot of the problems we have would be eliminated. Bottom line, everyone wants uber good healthcare, but uber low taxes. It's impossible, something has to give.
So to summarize, I think Socialized healthcare is much more efficient than marketbased healthcare (I know, flies in the face of all "modern economic theory"), and we get pretty good value for each health dollar we spend, while you guys are getting ripped the f off by greedy corps.
Canada's. I like it, sometimes, but it has it's problems. Bottom line, there simply is not enough money, doctors, and equipment to provide top-notch 21st century care for everyone. We need to realize either we will ration based on economic means (USA) or ration based on government fiat (Canada). On the whole I think it's better than your system because you pay 15% of GDP to healthcare and it still sucks, at least we only pay 9% for our less than ideal system. However, I think if WE doubled our
From Sweden and I think Universal HealthCare works very well, There is something I might want reform in the Swedish system but I want to keep are universal healthcare. We I Europe find it very strange that you in USA have to pay for something that is based on need on cash and not on NEED! I mean to those who want complete private healthcare how come then that you do not want complete private police department? or Fire Department so you have to have insurance for that. So I like socialist model:)
Aye, but there are big bucks on the whole healthcare system in USA, they will try to do everything against the universal model cause that would mean Biiiiig loses for the drug and healthcare companies

His name is Claude Castonguay. There are a couple of articles about him, if you google him, and his misgivings about the system he created.
