how is jesus a fulfillment of prophecy? the son of a bitch couldn't save himself from being crucified let alone be a lord and a savior. The bastard will never get my recognition and these creepy christians could go suck their own penises if they could.
@SummerSunshine1988 Romans just quotes Hosea. That's not a prophecy fulfillment.
If I write "man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.""....have I fulfilled a prophecy?
@moddie84 basically a sacrifice has to be a certain kind of hooved animal, of a certain age, with no blemish, its blood must be sprinkled on the altar, it can't be human, it can only atone for unintentional sins...aka jesus doesn't cut it.
@moddie84 Thanks for the pain. However, God was talking about physical death here, which every mortal is subject to. But Jesus came to save us from the second death, which is eternal; that is, everlasting punishment in the lake of fire. The thief at the cross bore his own sins, when he was crucified; but right there, Jesus saved him from eternal death, when He promised him eternal life.
@73geneva actually its not just for life on earth but the afterlife as well. for example ecclesiastis 12 states that we remember G_d and keep his commandments and our souls will return to him. Actually in Judaism, returning to G_d in heaven really isn't even left up to chance, we all return to him according to Torah.
I insult stupidity. Religion is stupid. "eternal lake of fire" - you worship a God who burns people forever in a lake of fire if they don't bow down and worship him?
And tell me, - how can we even "feel" the fire if we no longer have bodies and nerve endings?
The stupidity of religion and religious concepts never ceases to amaze and disgust me.
@1ProudFemaleAtheist Yes, religion reeks of stupidity and God hates it. But Jesus came to take on Himself the sins of the world and even while on earth, He forgave those who had been condemned to death by the law; justifiably, I might add. God never derives pleasure in sending people to hell; scripture says that Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. Matt 25:41. Honestly, you and I have no right to go to hell; as a matter of fact, we will be intruders.
@1ProudFemaleAtheist Thanks, Ma'am. However, you have a day in court, like everyone else and it is going to be one case that cannot be settled out of court. Heb 9:27. It is appointed unto man once to die and after death comes judgment.
@1ProudFemaleAtheist A man was an addict for 9 years and no one could free him from his demons. One day totally hopeless, he fell on his knees and cried out to Jesus to save him lest he lost his mind. An hour later he heard a voice: PHILLIPIANS 4:13! Not having a Bible, he borrowed one and read: I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGHTENS ME. He began to say it and right there, he became free; no after withdrawal symptoms. One with an arguement is no match for one with an experience.
And you have no way of proving that this "experience" was a godly one. People "cry out" all the time for help from God; people who are dying and in tremendous pain & suffering, and these people DO NOT get any "response." What about them? For every one story of a "magical help or healing from God" there are literally THOUSANDS, if not MILLIONS, of unanswered prayers.
@1ProudFemaleAtheist Exactly! And you know, the fellow has so many issues he's been praying about now, yet it's as if God has gone to sleep. In fact he told me he'd have doubted God completely, if not for that one experience he had; the reason he is still standing. God never promised a Cinderella life for His followers: didn't His own son, Jesus die a shameful death? John, Stephen, Paul etc. Scripture says Jesus came to save us from SIN: every other request might be answered or not.
That is the most absurd and complete non-answer to my point.....what on earth are you talking about?
"every other request might be answered or not" - so you think he's making sure your friend is "saved" from drugs while a mother's baby dies from Leukemia, and that's just what God is like whether we like it or not?
@1ProudFemaleAtheist Poor child. You know, I had a nephew; a very sweet boy. Suddenly, out of the blues, when he was 8, he began to have seizures of epilepsy. It was so devastating that the child had to stop going to school. It broke my heart that I could not save a child that called me uncle. Through that child I understood how parents feel when their children suffer; we prayed and fasted, yet nothing happened. Then one day, he died. I asked God questions; couldn't you have spared this boy?
@1ProudFemaleAtheist CONTD: Then I got this answer; Luke 12:4-5. Fear not them that can kill the body; but afterwards can do nothing more. But fear the one that can kill and then send to hell. Then I realized that though my nephew suffered so much and died, yet he was a conqueror. He is in heaven now and no diabolic force can touch him anymore. He has gotten what no amount of money can buy; HEAVEN. Honestly, sometimes I ask God questions; yet, I know enough to believe in Him in spite of all.
@1ProudFemaleAtheist you refuse to believe in Gods existence not because of intellect, but because of morals. either you've had a rough life and ask yourself ow can there be a god or you just don't want to have to do all the work. there is no proof God does not exist. but so much proof that he does. i think its the Father that brought you hear today. find your rest in Him, he just wants his child to come home.
Wrong, and don't "tell me" what I do when you know nothing about me whatsoever. I don't believe because there is no evidence, and lots of evidence to the contrary. It's plain and simple. It's not about my life experiences or about my morality, which is perfectly intact I assure you. 'Just don't want to have to do all the work" what the heck 'work" are you talking about?
Excuse me, that's called a double negative. Proving a negative is logically impossible. There is not one bit of proof that god exists. If what you call proof really was proof - everyone would believe.
You DO NOT know that is where your nephew is, you BELIEVE it. And you believe it without any logical proof or evidence, because it makes you feel better. That's all. And that's fine, your beliefs are whatever you make them. I personally believe that an almighty entity could have created people who don't suffer from such horrible conditions in the first place. That would be loving and merciful.
No, it is not. That is blatant LIE and you know it. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is historical FACT?! That's what you are actually trying to say? PLEASE

@1ProudFemaleAtheist Sweetie, the Roman empire hated the rise of the Disciples of Christ, and the Christian religion. Yet in court Romans brought up what Jesus did, and they swore he was an egyptian magi. These records are public information, and these Romans bashed everyone in a way to stop Christians. If Jesus never existed at all, they would have went into the court and said "Who's Jesus...What are you talking about?"
But they couldn't deny someone thousands witnessed.
Some prophecies are "fulfilled" by the simple expedient of inventing and writing a fulfillment that never happened in fact. An example is Matthew 2:13-15, which has Jesus as a child being hauled off to Egypt to escape the "slaughter of the innocents". Neither the move to Egypt nor the slaughter ever took place. Matthew wrote this lie to be able to say "And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son." " No other gospel or history records this.
@Navybluthrd002 How can you say that?Do you know or understand bible prophecy? If you did you would see that is not true.Just one example is Psalm 22.Read that one,and you will see but only one example, sir.God bless.
Anyone could have ridden a donkey into Jerusalem. When I was in Israel, an Arab offered me a ride on his donkey for $25.00 US from the mount of Olives up to the wailing wall at the base of the Temple Mount.
The Hebrew Scriptures prophecise that the Messiah would be a King to sit on David's Throne, bring world peace, justice, righteousness, universal knowledge of God, end famine, and disease, and resurrect the dead.
Jesus fulfilled none of these.
What did Jesus do? What is better about the world because of Jesus?
Jesus brought religious wars, murder of heretics, atheists, homosexuals, and Jews and book burning, suppression of Science and religious tax to support their evil organization.
Hebrew scriptures, in Daniel, prophecy that he would be crucified and beaten, crucifiction wasn't a punishment until the Romans started doing it. Hebrew scriptures, in Daniel, prophecied the EXACT DAY He would enter Jerusalem riding of a donkey. Christians were also the founders of modern science and scientific discovery.
No, since you are such a scholar and you are so knowledgeable about the Bible You should also know these verses too, but since you can't tell me where they are, its obvious that you are speaking out of your anus, so further comunication with you would be fruitless, so see ya.
That wasn't bitter or wrath it was spoken in truth. I you see one in a falt you let them know...I was letting you know that you lack wisdom...now ask god for wisdom and He will giveit to you liberally.
Hebrew scriptures also prophecy that He would be a savior to other peoples, not only Jews (fullfilled). Manuscripts show these prophecies were written 400-1000 years BC. He would be born of a virgin (fullfilled Mathew 1:20-23) He would be born in Bethlehem Micah 5:2 (fullfilled Mathew 2:1) He would come out of Egypt Hosea 11:1 (fullfilled Mathew 2 14-15)
Zechariah 9:9 said He would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey and Daniel 9:24-27predicted the day this would happen (fullfilled Mathew 21:5)
@Craighill9 Where in the Hebrew Scriptures does it say that Jesus ""would be a savior to other peoples, not only Jews""? I am not aware that Jesus is ever mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures.
@Craighill9 Here is the way Isaiah 7:14 reads in a Jewish translation. ""Therefore, the Lord, of His own, shall give you a sign; behold, the young woman is with child, and she shall bear a son, and she shall call his name Immanuel."" Notice that it says a "young woman" and not a virgin. But more important....it says she "IS WITH CHILD". The young woman is already pregnant. Isaiah is not telling King Ahaz that he will get a sign 400 years after he is dead from God.
@Craighill9 Micah 5:2 But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
Jesus was never the ruler in Israel. He never sat on the throne of King David. Israel didn't even exist when Jesus was alive. Israel only came back into being in 1948, it's not a Kingdom, and Jesus hasn't been it's ruler.
@Craighill9 Hosea 11:1 ""When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son."" This is a fabrication of a prophecy. The Scripture refers to Israel and not to Jesus and more likely refers to the Exodus.
Only a brain amputee could fall for Strobel's spiel. The ideas of Jesus being a fulfillment of prophecy were completely and throughly rebutted by Thomas Paine over 200 years ago in "The Age of Reason Part Two: The Examination of the Prophecies."
Yeah, Strobel really investigated the bible, I guess he forgets the fact that Matthew 1:23 quotes Isaiah 7:14 as if to say that Jesus was the child that was prophesied by Isaiah, when in fact, if you actually read Isaiah 7 you see that the child in question was a sign referring to the fate of Judah from the impending war with Syria. The Bible is no more accurate than Jean Dixon.

No it refers to Jesus major sceptics of the Bible agree this is refering to Jesus
Craighill9 2 years ago
@Craighill9 Daniel 9:24-27 doesn't mention Jesus. The "decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem" can be found at Ezra 1:1-4 and was issued in 538BC.
""until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks"'
69X 7= 483 years 538-483= 55 BC Only by playing with the numbers can this false prophecy be made to fit. It's bogus.!

Lee contrasts Nostradamus with "specific claims made in the video" OK, what is the video on prophecies about Jesus they are talking about??

"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." 1 John 5:12. If you die tomorrow, do you know where you will go?

Only a brain amputee could fall for Strobel's spiel. The ideas of Jesus being a fulfillment of prophecy were completely and throughly rebutted by Thomas Paine over 200 years ago in "The Age of Reason Part Two: The Examination of the Prophecies."

Maybe that explains why Thomas Paine is only known in the U.S. whereas Jesus Christ is known throughout the universe including heaven and hell.

This is awesome! Nice. Yea, its cool to hear about people like him who were skeptics and researched and became a believer!
:)
Jesus is the messiah.
