BBCOR Bats Explained

BBCOR bats suck ass. Im not talking about how much shorter balls are hit now, but because the bats really do a number on your hands. Just watch the wave of energy on the BBCOR compared to that of the BESR bats when compared. Just rediculous.

People continue to say, "Why don't they just use wood bat? They're less expensive than BBCOR bats anyway." Well they won't be so inexpensive when you think about how many wood bats you would shatter throughout the year. So one BBCOR bat would probably outlast more than 4 wood bats. It's not a big deal, just adjust to other bats and quit being little bitches.

Yes. Yesterday went to a jamboree and I saw a pitcher get nailed in the face by a line drive with the all composite Easton. I think BBCOR is stupid. I hate the new bats. But the new Voodoo has very good pop on my opinion. I like the Cat 5 also.

Anybody who has hit with a BBCOR can tell you that a ball can still definitely come off of the bat fast enough to hurt a pitcher. Maybe not quite as fast as with a BESR, but still definitely fast enough to hurt somebody. For that matter, wood bats are the same. You hit a ball hard back at the pitcher, no matter what type of bat you use, you can hurt the guy. That's why I think BBCOR is dumb.

Wood bats become expensive as you break them. Id rather swing wood but bbcor is a good alternative. The regular metal bats are way overpowered.

I'm really happy about bbcor bats. Sure, there wont be as many home runs. But who cares? You have to get good hard line drive hits, no more pop ups to the warning track and outta the park! Last year i hit one about 330 ground rule double (fences were far as shit) when i did a two strike protective swing. I even admit thats not fair. Its very simple: earn your hits, and you wont be able to tell the difference

@Stlbadazz24 because its a money issue, wood bats become very very expensive when inexperienced hitters (highschool/college) swing nothing but wood. They break them... ALL. THE. TIME. parents and schools just simply cant afford it. Talked to many D1 college coaches about this and thats what they told me. They dont like the BBCOR bats, and admitted they would use wood 100% but its too expensive.

i just bought a combat backbone wich is half composite half wooden. it has a composite handle similar to dimarini and a maple barrel with a composite sleeve running through the barrel. cant wait to use it and its bbcor certified.

The extra weight at the end of the bat will help drive through the ball. It makes sense to get a balanced BESR because of the trampoline. Now it makes sense to get a top-heavy BBCOR because the trampoline effect is dimmed down. Plus, top-heavy bats are easier to swing in my opinion. Its all basic science. So please do yourself a favor and get a Easton Typhoon like I did (or something around those lines), trust me, its better than you think, and it was $70. How could you go wrong?Happy to help:)

If any of you morons were listening, the trampoline effect is .5, ok? They are all the same no matter which bat you choose so you mind as well use wood if you can afford it or get a cheap BBCOR. And if you want a tip, you should get a bat that is top-heavy or end weighted.

Shut up about how "bad" the BBCOR bats are. These bat have less pop then the BESR bats and it makes the game be played right. People are focusing less on hitting homeruns and more on hitting for average. Yesterday I hit a 375 foot homerun with a BBCOR bat but I had never hit one with a BESR bat. Its all about your swing not the bat. And for it being a stupid rule, I got hit with a liner off a besr bat and it broke my jaw. Got the same thing with a BBCOR just a bruise and a cut. Quit complaining.

Composite wood bats are awesome; I had an old Brett Bros. maple/ash composite and it hit like a dream. Brett bats also feature a fiberglass handle that makes the bats more resistant to breakage, which would help keep costs down for college teams.

Why does everybody hate bbcor bats? If people would break in they're bats before using them in games, they would realize they're pretty much the same as BESR bats. My Demarini voodoo has as much or more pop than my old besr voodoo. Bottom line: its not the bat, its the batter so stop complaining.

BBCOR bats are complete and total bullshit. Someone on my team the other day had a BBCOR bat and drilled the pitcher right in the shoulder. He had to go to the hospital and everything. With a BESR, the damage would have been the same.

Personally the new bats are terrible compared to the normal ones more pop in the witch gives a further hit and the saftey issue is very rare you will rarley see a ball come back and hit the pitcher so the new rule has no right to even be there they just don't like the fact that their are more homeruns than there usually would be.

@10theresagg i agree.. there were hardly any incidents with pitchers getting hurt, and while there WERE a couple serious ones, it wasn't a big enough issue to change the entire game. Its a stupid rule. The only good thing is that the games are becoming more fun to watch because bunting and things like small ball are getting re introduced
