I really loved Donna Noble. She was a nice change from all of the other companions who were completely enamored with the Doctor, unlike them she wasn't afraid to tell him off which is far more interesting then just following him around like a lost puppy.

Catherine was such a hoot on Doctor Who...In my opinion, the BEST new companion of the re-booted series...Donna Noble was such a layered, nuanced creation: feisty yet vulnerable, bold but insecure, triumphant yet tragic all at the same time...It is quite an achievement for a comedic actress to mine such pathos from what was originally such a boorish character...Tate turned Donna into a witty, glamorous, 'ballsy' dame worthy of sharing the pantheon of great Dr. Who divas like Leela & Sarah Jane.
