  • This song is so underrated,my favorite on the soundtrack.

  • I love how Nei Diamond keeps getting a ride with the the same truck driver.

  • I wonder what make Acoustic guitar he purchased... 30 years on it's still a good film

    Thanks for posting

  • @barnyboot it was a Guild F50

  • Good Song, Mellow just wat we all need appproaching the weekend!

  • Neil Diamond at his prime! And he looks great with a beard and cowboy hat! Don't know why the critics panned this- it was an awesome film! Only wish someone else had been cast in his love interests' role. I just don't see the chemistry between them.

  • Was such a beautiful movie! Can't understand why the critics didn't like it! I loved it,was so different from other movies,so touching, and the music was so new and pure! I think Neil decided not to pursue acting because of the criticism he got for this movie!

  • Am a big fan of this movie. Neil Diamond's role and musical score was the appealing factor and they deliver, so does Lucy Arnez. As far as this song goes...umm, one of his best.

  • One of the best songs that Neil Diamond has sung. His guitarist Hadley Hockensmith told how he was in tears when he first heard Neil sing this.

  • @pookpooki I can understand that, cause it grabbed me the first time I heard it and I NEVER recovered....I love this movie.....

  • On the CD recording of this track as the song fades out you can clearly hear Neil Diamond cough as he backs away from the microphone. You have to listen carefully but it's there! Wonderful film, first movie I watched incessantly for about a year.

  • Thanks for posting. I had this by another poster but they took it of. Glad to have it again. Sound isn't that great, but it is better than nothing. Yours seems to be the only one of this song on here.

  • @gadask1 Yes sorry about the sound, not been able to get it anybetter, must be something I'm doing. Glad you like it though.

  • @claraleah007

  • I saw this movie last year for the first time. I'm 30 and i had no idea what this movie was about, and just new neil diamond from his "cherry cherry" song on the olides station. I am now a fan :-) I bought a copy of this myself and i can it one of my "feel good movies" It's a great movie to put on and listen to when you're relaxing, et al. Just great!

  • makes me think of an old girlfriend, debbie! all those years ago!

  • KevinHilley. yup - fuck 'em it is good!

  • I LOVE ME some Neil Diamond. This movie was so important to my young mind at 12. I was such a dork then, and, I guess now.

  • I love this song so much. It's my fav. I might even have it as my funeral song because it means that much to me. xx Peace xx

  • Why what did the critics say about it ??

  • This song got me through a very tough time in my life. One day when I wasn't sure I was going to make it, the phone rang. When I picked it up, this song was playing on the line. Even though he didn't say a word, I knew who was calling. He knew my heart, and when I heard the song, I knew everything would be all right. And it was.

  • please sort out the sound for one of Neils best songs!!!

  • Played this 2 weeks ago at my Dad's Humanist Service (Funeral). He loved Neil, he saw him twice at Birmingham UK and he loved this film so much. I must admit it wasn't my 'type' of music, but when i watched the film, it totally captured me. What a Legend! and so is my Dad!

  • Terrible low sound quality which is depressing cos I love this song and want to hear it at full blast....what a shame :-(

  • Thank you soo much for posting this. Love this movie. I can't get enough of his lyrics, awesome voice and of course his great looks. Love You Neil <3

  • I have been a Niel Diamond fan since 1971 when I first heard I am I said on the radio. I was only 17 This song was a favourite of my older sister Brenda who became a fan in the 1980's. Sadly she passed away on Valentines day 2009. This was played at her funeral - it was so moving. I've just made a DVD tribute to her this year we set off chinese lanterns into the dusk sky nextt o a very famous monument which I video'd. I will always treasure it and Neil Diamonds music too.

  • This song is a great song. I relate to this tune. It brings me back to childhood as my father owned the album on cassette tape and also to when I left my friends and family back home in Massachusetts in August, 2003 for a disastrous re-location to South Carolina, I'd play this tune thinking of my friends and family (especially my mom, may she RIP). I've been now in Florida since 2006 and am happy in southeast Florida (I still miss friends and family but they have their own lives now).

  • I was introduced to Neil Diamond by my father with a cassette tape also. He got it one Christmas in the 80's when i was a kid and played it to me and i have been hooked on Neil Diamond ever since. Glad you are happy now

  • Thanks:) I still miss my friends and family but as we get older they have their own families and so on. Also have different interests than when they were younger. Then when I bought The Jazz Singer soundtrack on CD before I went to Ontario, Canada for two weeks in August, 2001, this song spoke to me and has become one of my Top 10 Neil tunes. Though I may be a Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rush, Iron Maiden fan I also like Neil Diamond (always have and always will)

  • I think he should release this as a single. He voice was like golden ribbons back then, my dad used to say.

  • yeah, i love this one...........

  • you really need to upload this again, I can barely hear the sound.

  • This is one of my most favorite parts of the movie!

  • yeah it was my fav as well....

  • so warm

  • I love this song, all the songs from this film remind me of when I was little and my dad used to work away through-out the week days and my mum used to play this to keep herself from worrying about him and missing him etc. :)

  • I nearly did this for real too - when I moved house, it was really stressful. I got in the car to nip out to the shop and nearly cleared off and left the lot - that would have solved the stress problem!!

  • I listen to this song when my younger brother died its such a moving song this is the first time ive listened to it in over 5years

  • thanks for posting. I love this film and this is my favourite song from the film. Neil Diamond is a true star

  • such a beautiful song. the whole soundtrack was amazing. pretty good acting from neil in the movie also. sir laurence was great. keith lennox was a tosser.

  • I want more boom boom boom!

  • This is absolutely heart wrenching. I watched this with my Father who I lost to Heaven's skies 8.9.07...Love you Dad..

  • Funny, this song relates me and my dad very much, even though my dad is still very much alive this song still gives me a lump in my throat. Sympathies to you on your loss

  • um, there´s no sound.

  • Great movie and songs i remember every week going on the school bus to our swimming lessons and sweet caroline playing on the radio funny how songs can remind you of sutch things.Happy new year Neil and his fans still a great movie.

  • It goes without saying Neil's talent is great and I must say he sure was a hunk back then! Meow!

  • Great movie - songs like Hello Again, Coming to america, Love on the Rocks were pure class - but this song really touched me. I guess the song perfectly fitted the scenes in the film where Jess went away on his own... Very like my life I guess

  • Everybody has said it all, so I'll just say thanks for posting this one.

  • Alright, I'll admit it here. This movie came out when I was 21 years old ang doing through a tough time in my life. I went to the theater and saw it 13 times!!! The critics can say what they want, but I loved it.

  • I agree the critics can say what they want. The film was great. I also think that anybody that watched was in some way touched. Then again Neil Diamond has a way of touching people through his songs. The guys just great and his songs are the best.

  • I totally agree, I remember when this song came out and even though I loved the film, this song has been burned in my soul as one of those that you can remember where and what you were doing when you first heard it. I looked for this on you tube some time ago, but I guess I didn't especific, but put in the Jazz Singer, at any rate, my dear one I am indebted to you for this one, brings back precious memories of growing up and what will tomorrow bring, you know stuff like that,

    peace

  • Oh thanks for uploading this!

  • Thankyou for posting a comment acorahsangels. The songs are great and sung with such passion.

  • This is a truly beautiful song. I watched this film recently, and thought Neil Diamond was a good actor in it, and just love the songs Love on the rocks, Hello, and this song.Neil Diamond just seems so real and humble, and has the best voice I have ever heard.
