The trick is that the enthusiastic A only appears if you stand in front of him just as he swings his sword. >_> Which, of course, is tricky when you stand in front of a dude that can easily whack away two hearts per hit. =/

@gottis I (eventually) found it was easiest (for me) to pull out my shield, lock the target, and defend while scooting in a circle around them. Eventually I got to the back and could hit them. From there it's a matter of trying to hit them before they hit me! Or running away a lot if they don't have a weapon, because they do that spinning attack that I can't seem to dodge.. defending with the shield probably works at this point, too.

@Azaylianah Ah. I wondered, because the way I do it is to whip my sword out, target, and wait for the 'excited A' to flash and then hit it as fast as possible. That way Link rolls behind the Darknut and slices away the straps keeping his armor together. Repeat until the armor's all gone, if you're lucky the Darknut drops his sword and then you pick it up and whack him with it. It SHOULD deal more damage than even the Mastersword. I think. Maybe. >_>
