  • @5tevenmctowelie I was just 16 (relatively) recently, and I know enough now (and I knew enough then) to know that 16-year-olds don't know anything.

Today's music has just as much good and suck as 20 years ago, it just feels like there's more suck because you're living with it instead of just hearing the good from listening to stuff back in the day.

  • awesome song. Thanks 105.7 the Walrus

  • @DaMariozz i have a creepy nicki minaj vevo ad under mine and she is kinda bad although i like super bass and moment for life but billy joel is awesome

  • this is good music!! no Jstin Bieber!!

  • @namol2009 justin bieber isn't music

  • how did we go from this to now? I thought as humans we are suppose to progress over time..

  • out of 3,559,237 people who viewed this i do find it possible that 110 people disliked this on accident

  • This song isn't long enough. It could go on for hours and I still wouldn't get tired of it.

  • I always listen to this song when I'm down and feeling bad. Brings me comfort knowing that all people feel this way from time to time.

  • As much as this is one of my favourite songs OAT, this film clip is terrible haha. Im guessing no where near as much work went into it as the We didnt start the fire film clip.

  • this song is incredibly great but i have one question what is the meaning of the song??

  • @mamastrofic7 Well it kinda depends on who you ask, but this is quite self-explanatory (I think). All the people he sings about are lonely, or stuck, or sad and they are at the bar to remember and forget in equal measure. They turn to him too, to his music to bring them some happiness. Some say (and I agree) that at the very end when they ask what he's doing there, the song's also about himself. Its a sad, sad song. Yet its beautiful because of it. One of my favorites of all time.

  • also at 3:50 watch the man in the pink shirt on the right, he is swaying to the music then suddenly passes out.

  • 0:08 - 0:24 the most epic harmonica i have ever heard

  • Here's a story to age me! My mum and dad bought me a walkman and the double album Billy Joel tapes to listen to...... I loved them back then and still love them now. Cracking music. Thx folks :)

  • 1:06 rob schneider is....

  • The god

  • This is music. Not that overrated crap like justin bieber.

  • WTF Billy the best!! Man you dont sing, you shout your soul out!!!!

  • Hey guys!

I'm looking for a version of piano man without the instrumental bagground, so just the vocals! It's a younger man singing it, with a rather different rythmic route. So please, if you know the cover i'm talking about and/or have some information about where i might find it, please give me a respons or message.

    Thank you :)

  • Every time I hear this, I cry.

  • A classic that will last forever. Thanks Billy

  • billy joel is just so cool x)

  • everyone is making a big deal of the music today... I love many of today's artists, and many artists like Billy Joel.. People should just enjoy the music they like and stop complaining about music they don't have to listen by obligation. Peace Brooos, and enjoy your music!

  • @sircann1 Trolololol thumbs down

  • @tuberesistance Man you said it,i hate all of this Rap shit...but then Rap is not real music!

  • @Irishfanism Agreed! How is talking really fast with a beat behind you considered music?!

  • @Alexandraisaboss Rap is nothing but a bunch of obsene offensive words preformed by people with no class!

  • @Irishfanism YOU are awesome. and so right.

  • @Alexandraisaboss And the same to you my friend.

  • @Alexandraisaboss Have you ever really listened to rap? I mean, really listened? I'm not talking that trash by Lil Wayne or 50 Cent. I'm talking REAL rap from the greats: Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, etc. These guys put their souls into their music. How can you say you appreciate music when you bash one legit genre so absolutely?

  • @mpaulino I was talking about modern-day rap. I probably should have mentioned that but there are a few good rap song I like(:

  • Your gonna have to give me a lesson on this one brother !

    God Bless

    John Guitar Solo

  • this song is one of the best songs in the world. i feel for people who dont know/ dont like billy jole

  • ive been singing this song in my head for weeks

  • @1chuckjones me too...

  • Can a song hit deeper to the soul? This song is brilliant!

  • 1602.3 likes to 1 dislike

  • There are very few lyrical songs I listen to. In fact the only ones on my Mp3 player out of 300 are an assortment of Simon and Garfunkel and The Monkees.

  • That bigged-mouthed rapper and ugly-faced pop star are slowing down the loading of my epicness.

  • Right now it's feels: This is the best song of the all.

  • I'm sorry for my generation.

  • @Bjarturlamb same here +1

  • BUENA MUSICA........EXELNTE SEÑOR TOKNDO EL PIANO

  • Aaah the good old days when people actually poured their heart and soul into music... One of the best songs ever.

  • RE-FUCKING-PLAY

  • HELLO PIANO MAN

  • What the hell is that black thing looking at me?

  • ya they don't make music like this anymore :( all music these days can be classified in 3 different classifications.1. violence 2. sex 3. money almost every song after 2000 can be put into one both or all three of these. it's not music. music is supposed to be a embodiment of the artists emotions and will. it is supposed to have different meanings for every person who hears it. it's supposed to make you think about the world around you. music these days is the complete opposite.

  • @ultimatechucknorris as the guy upt there said yes music is empty... empty lyrics for an empty heart or empty mind... like you said the old music made you think about this and that and the world around and the new music does the opposite ... exactly... it makes you think less of evrything that goes on around you..... just a second ago... i knew how this post should go on... damn .. maybe im too tired of complaining about it all the time ... enjoy it your way let them have theirs...

  • es bueno te muestre este tipo de videos para recordar las nostalgias de la vida

  • Classic

  • I used to like piano man, but then i took an arrow to the knee

  • Rihanna has 128,000,000 hits on one songs and Piano Man only has 3,500,000 hits on this song. What's wrong with people these days.

  • @Ironvike28 Justin bieber has 688,000,000...... i would say its a sign of the apocalypse.

  • waltz beat

  • One of the best singer/songwriters of our time.

  • what a songwriter he is!!! <3

  • the best way to someone is a coldhearted killer is if they can not sing along to this after listening to it a couple times

  • I'm so sick of people saying, "Music of my generation sucks because sex, drugs, sex, alcohol, boobs, bleh bleh bleh". It really doesn't matter what era it is, because the message music sends hasn't changed in over fifty years. The Doors, The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, etc all sing the same thing as Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Katy Perry, or Adele.

  • in deep's ending ;)

  • te soltamos ahora es tu turno

  • 4:48 love the manager's face

  • SUCK MY BALLS I AM THE PIANO GOD!

  • snif, snif!!! me encanta esta canción, deberia de existir un boton de me encanta.... amo esta cancion

  • (Of course, I'm not meaning /all/ of today's music. Some of it is great and deep, for instance Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, AWOLNATION... ^w^)

  • This gives me the chills, GREAT STUFF!

  • 107 faggots who clicked on dislike,....

    :D

  • @benhamine99 14! I heard this when I was really little (like 4 or 5) and loved it.....forgot about it and then heard it again when catching up on glee (cause I fail and began watching it at the endish of the 2nd season).....and fell in love with it again......gotta love it

  • Rock is not even close to dying, there are still Rock bands. Rock is not dead until videos like these disappear and no one listens to them. :|

  • Jeje Recorde La Voz Mexico Oscar Cruz y Alejandro Sanz!

  • real music is what it isn't

  • Where's the bass??... I kid, Oldies are on top of my music taste

  • PEOPLE STOP TRYING TO BE HIPSTERS LISTEN TO MUSIC BECAUSE YOU LOVE MUSIC.....NOT TO BE UNIQE...Thanks!

  • like if you were swaying along with the crowd

  • In Billy Joel's day, life stories were told, artists wrote their tears and pains into the music, and that was what gave the song its own personality; like the songwriter is sitting down next to us and talking to us like an old friend. Today's music is empty. What was once lyrics filled with tales that gave us goosebumps, is now a black hole of "going to the club", having sex, getting high. It makes me sick to know that this is my generation.

I want this back before real music is lost forever.

  • @MusicEezMyLife tahts just the music you hear/understand

  • @MusicEezMyLife It's not really like that; there's plenty of lovely music being made today. The market might be dominated by music like what you're describing, but it'll pass in a few years, and things will go back to being as normal as they ever were. This too shall pass, and other platitudes. Viewing the past with rosy-tinted glasses will do nothing but make you bitter. Cheer up, and listen to Girls. They're lovely, and have only existed since 2009.

  • @ObsoleteLaika Yeah.. all periods of time have great music, some more than others, and some are just much harder to find. Just trying to support your argument. (Oh, and one band I can recommend is Van Canto. Formed in '06.) That is all I have to say, now I shall leave you young'ns alone.

  • @ObsoleteLaika I really hope it goes back :/ and yeah I'll check them out

  • @MusicEezMyLife

I discovered the meaning of life while listening to skrillex on LSD. stop being mad old man.

  • @eidexoxo I'm 14, and a girl. I also love Skrillex.

I actually love every genre except for overplayed pop and most rap/hip hop.

  • @MusicEezMyLife Not true at all. There's tons of good music nowadays if you know where to look and don't just listen to pop. I'm sure people back in the 80's were saying the same things. The only reason we think their music is so good is because the only songs we remember are basically the cream of the crop. There were definitely just as many shitty songs back then as now; only thing is we've erased those from our memory. Beiber FTW! Hahaha

  • @dtothelu True, true. xD

  • @MusicEezMyLife This music will never be lost, so long as people listen to it :3

  • @MusicEezMyLife amen.

today's culture is too superficial. but the good news is, those of us who want to can

be real and listen to real music.

  • @MusicEezMyLife Do you ever listen to anything but what is on mainstream radio? I agree, what was deemed mainstream 30 years ago was a lot better than the shit on the radio today, but that doesn't mean there's not good music out there today as well. Fuck you.

  • @thehumaninstrument91 As already stated, I'm not talking about all of the music today.

  • @thehumaninstrument91

YouTube: where people get mad for no reason.

  • @MusicEezMyLife I heard BIlly Joel on the radio, a popular one and all.

  • @MusicEezMyLife i agree with you so much! but good music will never die!

  • @MusicEezMyLife This is so very true BUT there are plenty of artists who still have wonderful meaningful lyrics. You just need to find them. They aren't as well known but their music is beautiful. :)

  • @MusicEezMyLife don't forget there's also songs about mutalating corpses, beating people to death, and worshipping satan...
