Is Senator Schumer seriously expecting people to believe that Barack Obama isn't winning people over because he hasn't had enough face-time with America? Please don't patronize me. Obama has received a disproportionate share of positive media coverage in both the Democratic primaries and this general election. There is scarcely a day he isn't making headlines. I understand Schumer is a Democrat but he can at least provide a consistent argument for the candidate he thinks will win the Presidency.

At the risk of sounding biased, isnt it obvious that Obama is more intelligent than Mccain? Go look at each of their speeches at Google if you are at all unconvinced of this point. This leads me to beleive that the only reason the south could possibly still favour Mccain is that he must be getting an unfair media advantage down there.

Based on Obama's professional background and education I would agree that Obama is more intelligent than McCain. But it's hardly obvious that Obama's proposals are more intelligent than McCain's. And in general, Obama is a much better at prepared speeches than McCain while McCain is much better at impromptus than Obama (see Saddleback). And yes, Fox is obviously guilty of right-wing bias, but I find that MSNBC and CNN have undone or even outdone what Fox has put out (at least in this election).

Even if McCain was a better candidate than Obama (which is in my opinion certainly not true). I think it is obvious to the entire world that the people holding Bush's puppet strings (the republican party and their rich supporters) cannot be in office again. If we look at the history books in 100 years, it will be recorded as fact that the Bush administration under the republican party was a black mark on american history. I realize there is a thin line between fact and bias in this case however.

Bush's legacy may be a dark one but it's highly unfair to characterize the policies of the last 8 years as the "Bush-McCain doctrine". Within the conservative wing of the GOP McCain is still deeply disliked for his support of campaign finance reform, "amnesty", and his obvious distaste for the religious right. Yes, he has spent the last few years trying to rehabilitate his image (sometimes by making concessions he probably shouldn't have made) but McCain is remarkably courageous for a politician
