Ok for the person you said the fire is basicaly rising, since heat rises, cause its less dence then cold air, alot of times when a fire starts on the upper levels it moves up but because ot the buildings falling apart the lower levels catch on fire due to burning debris thus causeing the whole building to be involved, or the fire can grow alot burning the whole house if it has alot of oxygen and other stuff

Death toll is up to 148 now and ofcourse they have found the scape goat - the local fire inspector. Naturally the owners and managers will put in jail and a lot of strict statements will be made but all that is "pokazuha". Fact of the matter is Russian authorities are infested with corruption and no real effort is made to get rid of it. What I mean is that regardless of who is to blame in this fire nothing will change. Other night clubs, sport buildings, swimming halls won´t be inspected.

It seems that the ceiling went ablaze from a spark

that reached the hay which is attached to it.

So that kind of ceiling is highly flammable and could burn even from a cigarette. Its the materials which really helped the fire to burn so fast and plastic which when burns produces very toxic gases. Most victims probably lost conscious when escaping. Some who escaped had no clothes because they burned from dripping plastic also from ceiling. Horrific. People must think of safety first.

No doubt this footage which is now being shown around the world will be used to prosecute the nightclub owner. But like in other nightclub fires such as at The Station in Rhode Island, The Cocoanut Grove in Boston or the Iroquois Theater fire in Chicago, it seemed few were prosecuted or their sentences were relatively light considering the carnage. RIP to those poor people in Russia.

a similar thing happened at a nightclub in rhode island about 7 years ago. fireworks on the stage lit the club's ceiling on fire, and there weren't enough exits. this is so terrible. people need to realize that when a room goes ablaze like that the temperature can quickly reach 700+ degrees farenheiht-causing spontaneous combustion of anything inside. always scope out the nearest exit. when you go out to a club
