This is shit, you need 100% efficiency from all parts to get anywhere. too many parts involved. My car can get 110 MPG. It has an 850cc engine which puts 39bhp on the rear wheels, it weighs 350kg because the body is fibreglass and the car is smaller than a Fiat 500 AND I have to drive with fuel economy as my only goal. To get a high MPG put a efficient, small engine to a car which is light.
Why not use the vehicle's fuel tank for purified water, then have a conversion chamber where H2O and DC+/- current mix , separating water into Hydrogen Gas and pure Oxygen in just the right combination for burning. No fossil fuels at all. Uses battery pack and recharges as it runs? Just separates it and burns it in the gas phase for fuel...
When you say MPG, is that MPG via water? Also, how does this affect your exhaust? And what happens if you use it on diesel since diesel puts out sulfur? I have a Jetta TDI (1998) and want to do this. I get 50 with diesel, but diesel prices suck. Can you use water from the tap or is it distilled? Sorry, just some questions!
Doesn't this sound like a scam? If this really did save fuel the car makers would all be using it. If it really worked, the HHO scammers would submit their vehicle to an independent group of engineers to verify that it does work. Don't be one of the gullible ones. The ONLY source of energy in your car is the gas. Any benefit from the hydrogen is more than offset by the energy it takes to create that HHO. In fact, there's a loss in the conversion, so you get LESS net energy in the process.
@MetGuy9966 The reason car makers dont use HHO kits is because they require regular maintenance, and most people cannot remember to change their damn oil. The "HHO Scammers" have already allowed independant research and it has been proven to work. The gain from HHO is created when you fine tune the fuel injectors to use less fuel than before, and the HHO is used to compensate for the lack of gas. All we are doing is making already inefficient Internal Combustion Engines more efficient, not 100%.
@WaterHybridCarKits You make a good point about the increased maintenance required with the HHO kits. I'll give you a suggestion: Sell HHO kits to a company that has a fleet of cars. They'll have a full staff of mechanics that can watch over these HHO cars, and do any work that's needed. They'll be experts. Also, it would be easy to keep track of the actual mileage and costs, and the value of the HHO kits can be easily documented. It would convince me and others that the HHO is worthwhile.
@MetGuy9966 There is // check out you tube type in // { HHO POLICE DEPARTMENT } There are several police departments all over US // using // HHO KITS Because they work /// There documented some are planing to put on all city cars And the US MILITARY is looking into // HHO FOR TRIALS //
@TIGHTWADHERMAN So, a police dept in a tiny town in South Carolina tried these HHO devices out. So what? This just proves the Police Chief is gullible. Search: Dateline HHO. You'll see a real mileage test done by a real mechanic. HHO is a scam to take money from the gullible.
@XxLeurxX This is what you don't understand: The water provides NO ENERGY to the vehicle. The electricity splits the water bonds into H and O, and this gas is burned, where the H and O goes back to water. There's no net energy coming from the water. Water at the beginning; water at the end. In fact, breaking the bonds in water takes up more energy than you get back from burning the HHO. It's a LOSER!
@MetGuy9966 That is not true. I am familiar with the law you are describing, but you arent considering all variables. it is not directly trading energy to produce energy. it is recycling energy, and altering what is readily available. if you can get the maximum efficiency out of 1 part of gas with say 10 parts of air, then what you just did was use the readily available resource, air, to maximize your efficiency. it is the same concept but slightly more complex. it basic stuff. fission.
@krumpinSamoan Fission? You really don't know what you're talking about. No one associated with HHO talks about fission, and they shouldn't. If this were really more efficient it would be easy to prove, and they haven't. So far it looks like a scam for the gullible.
@MetGuy9966 fission was the end of my comment limit. you are saying that Hydrogen power doesnt work...? Honda has a 2010 Clarity that runs only on hydrogen. Well metguy, it looks like it works.
@krumpinSamoan Where have I said that hydrogen can't power an engine? Yes, there are hydrogen-powered cars. The trick is how do you make the hydrogen. The legitimate H-cars get the H from an outside source; usually from methane. These HHO cars make their own hydrogen from energy from burning gasoline. It's a loser. Search: Dateline HHO. You'll see who these scammers are.
@krumpinSamoan Breaking the bonds of water takes a large amount of energy. Yes, it can be done and you can use the hydrogen in an engine. But the energy you get back is less than the energy you had to put in to dissociate the water. At best you get back 80% of what you put in, and it's more likely far less than that. Loser. Simple chemistry and physics. Read the Wikipedia article on Electrolysis of water, and don't be gullible.
You have a problem with Wikipedia? It may not be the best on some things like celebrities, but it's usually right on about technology and science. You don't believe Wikipedia, but you believe these HHO scammers? If you don't like Wikipedia, search Electrolysis of Water and Fuel Cell Operation. The first link is from Georgia State. They say the process of splitting water and recombining is 83% efficient at the ultimate best. In practice it's much less. Try to learn something.
@MetGuy9966 Im not taking a "scammers" word for it. I actually build these cells. this isnt new technology. wiki is an innacurate source because anyone can write on it.
@krumpinSamoan If you don't believe Wikipedia, then read the stuff from Georgia State, or any other university. I'm not saying that these devices can't create hydrogen. I'm just saying as they're used in these cars it's an energy LOSER. These claims of great gas savings are LIES. They violate the laws of physics. BTW, how much physics did you take in college? Also, watch the piece Dateline did on HHO cars. It's on YouTube.
@MetGuy9966 Alright MetGuy9966. I am just going to leave you with some advice. keep your mind open. If this is a energy loser like you say, then me driving with my sound system, which consumes 2500Watts would make my gas mileage go down. I have a fuel cell, I build them, and I personally know they work because I use them all, every single day. You do seem scientifically savy, but this is also in the mechanical field. The concept is recycling. just like a turbo charger.
@krumpinSamoan Your sound system has a rating of 2.5 kW, it doesn't consume that small amount of energy all the time. This is the type of oversight that makes your knowledge of mechanics and physics suspect. Your use of the term "recycling" also shows a paucity of understanding. And, yes, using your sound system, or the AC or any other accessory, will use energy that has to be created somehow. Since the only source of energy comes from that gas tank, this is where that energy comes from.
@krumpinSamoan Of course I do know what a turbo is. I don't know of one honest professional mechanic that describes a turbo as using "recycled" energy. That idea shows a lack of comprehension of physics. If the HHO car really saved gas it would be easy to prove this, and no one has. All I see is gullible people and the scammers that are lying about this technology. Just prove it. Have a reputable independent group measure the fuel savings that are claimed. Google search--Dateline HHO.
@MetGuy9966 Of course I do know what a turbo is. I don't know of one honest professional mechanic that describes a turbo as using "recycled" energy A turbo is 100% recycled energy. how does a professional mechanic say otherwise.
@krumpinSamoan I didn't ask you if you knew what a turbo is. I asked you how much physics you took in college. Where is the independent proof that HHO will save on gas? Dateline has independent proof that there's absolutely NO mileage savings, and this is the opinion of people from Popular Mechanics, the US Dept. of Energy, and many universities. The only ones who say HHO saves on gas are the scammers who sell these devices. Don't be gullible.
@krumpinSamoan You are really off the deep end now. The Honda FCX is NOT an HHO car. For the FCX you have to pump hydrogen into the car, which uses it to generate electricity, that recharges batteries, that run the car. So, it's an electric-powered car that uses hydrogen as the fuel. It's NOTHING like the HHO scam car. The problem with the FCX is "Where do you get the hydrogen?" A common way to get large amounts of hydrogen is from methane. The Honda FCX is NOT an HHO car. Nice try.
You should give up trying to debunk the FACT that HHO generators are used daily in tens of thousands of vehicles. I thought my electrical system wouldn't support a HHO generator. So I set my car battery on my bench and operated my 12volt dry cell for over 1 hr producing >1LPM. My battery can be recharged by solar cell. Guess you'd say I'm converting solar energy into 3 more MPG (30% increase) in my 1978 chev truck? Will vid my new dry cell (>2LPM).
