  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • This song is pretty cool, and the album art is trippy. You've got the old school map of the Old World, and a photo of a galaxy. What always interested me, is that lots of people think we're going to navigate the void in a mechanical spaceship. That's like trying to cross the Pacific Ocean in a freakin' Gondola. I would consider this to be a logistical hazard.

  • I always loved the synchronized parts between the instruments and the stop time that was such a big part of Saga's music.

  • Clock work!

  • Rolisima de poca madre de este grupo canadiense SAGA , cualquier disco de ellos es buenísimo ...... QUE EL ROCK SEA ........ amén.

  • This is now the official theme song of my sales department. My interpretation of the lyrics are to go ahead and come unhinged, kick ass everywhere you go.

  • Bring back the 80s!!!!!

  • Close your eyes - this music puts you on a train that flies through clouds and mountains. Every one in the world stands next to your route cheering you on as you ride the roller coaster while you high-five them. The air breezes past your hair and your stomach goes up and down in your chest and makes feel like you about to cum. Bad azz song.

  • Great tune. Precision and quality all the way through. Great album cover too.

  • Damn Canadians! For me, it was Rush and Triumph. Then Saga made its debut on the FM airwaves. All I can say is the following: Even here in San Diego, I toast em all with a Molson (along with Bob and Doug), say "eh, hoser", and watch the Maple Leaf games and Toronto Blue Jays...all while wearing my 5 Golden Tukes.

  • @dreamtheater9352000 - in Columbus, Ohio and completely agree with you!

  • such a pure song

  • Timeless!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing today can touch it! Great song to listen to while I am pounding out miles on my road bike...So sweet..

  • Such a great song. I first heard this coming home from college while listening to my default classic rock station (because honestly, the good songs comes from the past, with only a few exceptions). I was absolutely enthralled by this beautiful melody. It's just one of those songs that touches the soul, at least in my case.

  • Saga was a great band that didn't get their due.

    Thx for uploading.

  • I was in Albquerque when it came out, going to the Indian college. I lived the 80's music and it was the best years for music. Trust me. Great song thanks

  • --....that guitar break is BOSS!!! I'm a teenager again(in my mind) whenever I listen to this song. 4 minutes of endless possibilities.

  • I have this LP. Every Winter I play this to sort of "herald in" the changing seasons. And when I say I play this, I mean ON MY GUITAR.

  • This album came out in my Senior year in High School. I didn't think that ANY other album made after 1981, could be as fantastic as "Worlds Apart". This was back in the days when artists knew how to play their instruments to their full potential. Long live SAGA!

  • awesome song.... awesome band i have played guitar hero and its awesome also.........guitar hero is one of the ways to get these young guys to know what real music is..... the 80s of course

  • I picked up this album about a week ago on vinyl for a buck. Never heard of the band and I'm glad I know who they are now. Badass band!

  • One of the best of the '80s for those of us that actually survived them. I will remember this song forever!!

  • what a fun song from my past! thx for the memories, i'm fav-ing this, ok? :)

  • 938 peeps are on the loose....and 19 peeps are coming off the wall

  • '83>>> I was 15... wish you kids could experience this... unadultered FASCINATION with a NEW song , by a NEW band, with a NEW girl by your side...... had to FIND where your friends were "hangin' "... no texting or cell phones >>LOL "White Roads/Legion Lake/ Ellen's house" {inside joke}

  • Wow, talk about great flash backs to the 80's. Good stuff!

  • I envisioned an Old Castle on a dark night with no candlelights and many major strikes of Lightning from a medival thunderstorm.

  • i love the guitar and keyboards in this song, this could be a really good instrumental without the lyrics

  • this whole album was good, this song in particular was a excellent driving tune!!! miss these guys.

  • It's funny, when I was younger, when I heard my mom listening to this kind of music, I hated it, I thought it was annoying, and ugh, so irritating. Now that I am older, I listen to this stuff cause it's the only stuff I can enjoy. This shit we get now a days, I feel like the generation just under me is truly unfortunate. The music I grew up was... okay... but man I just wish I was back in the 70s...

  • I remember this song!!!! i too heard it inthe summer PARTY!!!! Fond Memoriies in the eighties!!!!!! Goota Love them!!!!!!!!!!! No one could stop me now!!!! tonite im on the lose!!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • the guitaring always amazed me

  • @donottawaguitar

Ian Crichton is the guitarist, and to me a master of such technically precise guitar work. Of course there has been, and are technically skilled guitarists, i think Ian was an innovator for sure. Maybe Stanley Jordan would be in this precision category, just a different genre.

  • I had a 69 Mustang fastback with Boss package and a HOT Asian/American girlfriend in the passenger seat crankin' this song on the 6x9's in the back deck .No stupid subwoofer box in the trunk ! Ahhhh....I recall the simple pleasures of my youth very well !

  • OH YES BABY DA SHIT !!!! I Grew Up on this !!!!!

  • @Mushroomwaffles Rap was originally music of the urban communities, by people from the neighborhoods and for people of the neighborhoods. From the Last Poets and Gil Scott Heron to Public Enemy and Ice Cube. The music said something. But then suburban kids with no grounding in the urban experience took up the music, and record company A&R people began picking acts not on the basis of what they had to say, but how cool the kids at the mall would think they'd be for listening to it.

  • @Mushroomwaffles If you are in the minority as you point out, then start to gain the attention of those like you and start a movement demanding better music. A united effort. Take action. Young people like you have all this incredible technology at your disposal so put it to use. Send a message to the big wigs and let them know that truly talented artists out there deserve a chance. It was the young in past generations who elicited change and got it! Do not stay passive, ACT.

  • My life must be unusual for these days, because it was basically pressure from my friends, early on, who steered me away from rap and pop and got me on to all of the great rock from the '60s onward. 90 % of the songs like this that I know came to me from classic rock radio (yes I listen to a lot of radio), and do not play those rock band games, though I don`t see what`s wrong with learning good music that way. Youtube is how I find good songs after hearing them on the radio.

  • @Mushroomwaffles But your generation settles for crap. WE DID NOT. We demanded good music

and we got it. That is the difference. Stand up young people and demand TALENT not pure unadulterated

    rubbish. You deserve better!

  • tonight WE ARE ON LOOOOSE!!!

  • heard this song on the radio. was a rental car. im 26. i didnt get a chance to live in the early 80s and experience all the epic-ness. so this song hooked me very quickly. remembered the lyrics...so here i am. love the synth and the melody. fuck yah!

  • I was born in 87 but I grew up listening to all classic rock and I wish I was born ten years earlier just so I could have experienced the 80's.

  • @Mushroomwaffles You're cool man, no worries.

  • This is the first time I have heard this song since, oh, the early 1980s.

  • Used to listen to this before our football games in high school, made me want to kill someone! I like the song but the music just makes you angry and gets you pumped up. This song just screams early 80's! lol

  • ...never really listened to lyrics, but when i started, i was really curious what this song was about...i love the words to this track, kind of uplifting for me...and with the classic 80s sound, makes for a fun song as well...

  • had this record! great stuff!

  • great road trip song......great training song....GREAT SONG!

  • please bring back the 80's! MUSIC TODAY SUCKS!!!!!!

  • Oh, shut TFU...It's SAGA and they rocker in their time.

  • Fall. 1981, 8th grade and this song kicks major balls on MTV...... you little motherfuckers of the Y generation and beyond better get a motherfucking clue about this other worldly rock that kicks your pussy asses back to the future when rock was rock and roll was roll....................

  • @CHHSE1986 thats right brother, you tell these young fuckers, thinking they know rock music just cause of faggot ass guitar hero and pussy rock band bullshit, real rock like this came out on the radio or mtv, not a sorry fucking video game.

  • @irnmadn99 Bitch, you got that straight, these dumb fuckers don't know what's going down in this 70's 80's 90's rock shit. We'll fuck em up if they say anything about what they "know". That's proper.

  • @ClamMaster2000x Your rap crap is shit....How many rappers can actually read music yet alone play a guitar. Yet alone...READ ...Period! It disgusts me and probably others in my generation..(born in the 60s) That all you in your generation only know how to say*** bitch*** when you know we are right.

  • @ohiosouthpaw Well, unlike you some people can appreciate all the different kinds of music without being ignorant.

  • @irnmadn99 You are a true vulgarian.

  • @irnmadn99 . amen brutha- fukkin kids are a sorry pathetic bunch these days - listening to the sounds bites of our drunken teen years- the 80`s were the shit ....just add booze/drugs-no filler and the police were mega relaxed then...

  • @ThairyV2009 Grow up "brutha".

  • @irnmadn99 What's wrong with you? Rock band/guitar hero have given these songs new fans, allowing a new generation to appreciate them. Maybe you would prefer it if they were never in any videogames at all and they can fade into obscurity forever

  • @jjws Guitar Hero made bandweather fans not gained new ones. You won't ever see Pink Floyd nor Genesis on these games as their music also requires keyboards (real synthesizers like the Oberheim, Moog, Yamaha and the ARP types, not the wussified Korg bullshit (Kurzweils are the only ones that can recreate the classic sounds properly)).

  • @jjws You make a valid point!

  • @irnmadn99 Amen!

  • @irnmadn99 Grow up "brother".

  • @MrJimbobarino dont let my comment burn your asshole

  • Hey..Shut the Hell up!!!!! I'm 14 and i was lucky enough to have my dad raise me on Rock and Roll so don't be biased and say "This generation are idiots"

  • Abort the teen moms!!!

  • reminds me of the early 80s gedtting rteady to go out and trashed.

  • the apocalypse is far off. i remember this song from when i was in 1st grade. i was born in 1975. things will get better. you will always have this song in your head.

  • How many musicians out there would love to have this as there one hit wonder

  • It wont matter, the Chinese are going to own our once great country. We spent a ginormous amount of money to defeat communism and we Rock and Rolled with the best music ever while doing it. Now a communist country will buy us wholesale....the music will just keep getting worse. Nothing was ever better than that cold war american rock and roll......

  • @heehawkdown This is not American Rock & Roll. It is Canadian.

  • @coolruehle Yes, the "Maple Kind"

  • MTV MEANS "Mush" television. MTV fucking SUCKS

  • Brings me back to the summer of '83. Just got my license, had a '70 Chevelle with a 396, cute girlfriend, cheap gas (under $1). Sit at a red light late night, smoke the tires, race whoever for fun. No road rage idiots. No one calling or texting every 30 seconds. Simpler times! Something the young ones will ever experience. Love my life now with my wife and sons but very happy I can look back fondly.

  • @Shang1966 Nice !!!

  • @Shang1966 Tell it like it IS, brother!

    These times SUCK today!!!

  • @Shang1966 Bravo brother, interesting comment. That whole paragraph could be straight out of my mouth

  • @Shang1966 I'm 21, I was born in 1990, and for me, the 80's never ended. I saw Crue on their Feelgood tour without even being alive. I was raised on the 80's, I fashion myself after the 80's, and to me, I regret nothing. Don't feel bad that we'll never truly experience the eighties and its glory, because I'm still living it, and loving it.

  • @EiGH7BA11 thats cool, dont sweat not growng up in the 80s. the 80s were not as great as they are being made out to be. i always shake my head at kids raving about the 80s. Your fake 80s are probably more fun than the actual decade.

  • @Shang1966 Amen brother!!!! I bet you worked parttime to save up money for your car too just like me, ha.

  • @screwdigitaldish funny thing is im 15 almost 16 i bought myself a 88 camaro, i listen to the 80's in it lol and i saved up money for it.

  • @BlackAngelXLK Thats because you have great taste in music.

  • @screwdigitaldish thank you haha, im trading my 88 camaro for a 77 camaro lol with a straight 6 3spd automatic im stoked! its white so you probably know where this is heading! Boys in the bright white sports car haha

  • @Shang1966 i wish i knew how that felt i was soooo born in the wrong generation

  • @Shang1966 < Same here, had a 1968 442 with a 1967-425 engine, yep cheap gas, and a great looking babe with me. Races were more for fun than pride. Had a blast back then.

  • @Shang1966 Same here, had a 1968 442 with a 1967-425 engine, yep cheap gas, and a great looking babe with me. Races were more for fun than pride. Had a blast back then.

  • @Shang1966 amen brother. Well said.

  • @Shang1966 You are so right. Life was so much simpler then. Had my first car in '83, a '70 Nova with a straight 6. LMFAO. A friend helped me put a 283 out of a '64 Chevelle in it. My first V8. I was in in heaven. Stepped it up a notch next by buying a '55 Chevy with a 350 LT1. Now the fun began. I loved those days, hanging out with all of the gearheads and lovin' life.

  • @Shang1966 Word to that :)

  • @Shang1966 Amen brother! I had a '68 Camaro with a 396 and we cruised its wheels off summer '86. Twenty five years later still got the car. Great times. Great song.

  • One of the best unknown 80's hits in the US from SAGA - bought their album in 1981 when I was a freshman is high school :)

  • 18 idiots don't even have a clue as to what classic rock is. this is 1 of my all time favs, PEACE

  • Wow this is a great tune from back in the day. I remember having MTV on and hearing this, And in all honesty, I thought it was Boston. Then I saw the video and saw it was, SAGA. I was not a big fan but they had a great sound and this tune rocked. Talented musicians if you ask me. Thanks for the post. Long live the 80's..

  • Those were the fun days...going to a rock concert..between the sound machines..

very surprised <damn floor does not cave in lol...bring back the 50's..60's 70's..80's music and such...jillxo

  • Blast from the past, 1 hit wonder from Canada, right up there with Vandenburg!!!

  • TONIGHT ON THE LOO!!

  • I'M ON THE LOO!!

  • No children, the 70's were the best. The best feature that 80's had was "One hit wonders". Done by dudes w/allot of make-up.

  • @littlewolf60 One hit wonders with lots of makeup? You mean like KISS?

  • Magnificient - Saga - You either Know or You dont

  • another under-rated Canadian Band. There is real talent here.

  • I saw these guys in concert at the Newport Bar on High Street in Columbus, Ohio back around '85. They were every bit as good live as in the studio. They had like 6 keyboards spread across the stage. Great show. Also caught The Outfield and BTO at the Newport back then.

  • the 80s were the best hands down

  • @TheCaveman123456789 AMEN, bro!

  • You mean there were 18 deaf, dumb, and blind kids voting on this song???? LOSERS!!!

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seth Rogan or Adam Sandler has gotta put this in one of their movies!

  • I HAVE THE FUCK OUT OF THAT ALBUM! sorry I am FUCKING HAMMERED, AND I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG

  • Totally forgot about this great song!

  • @Sepsurguy Me too, a Jeopardy question reminded me of it !!!

  • They're a band like "Yes"...very unique! Great on headphones!!!

  • SAGA; 80 SYNTH BAND... I LOVE THIS TUNE, BUT THEY, LIKE THE DECADE, SLIPPED AWAY INTO OBSCURITY...

  • Navy Seal team six played this song right before they shot Bin Laden in the head!!!

  • @Cloberzz39

    OMG, R U serious!!!

  • @pantherspirit3 this must be your first time hearing music..

  • 1000000000000000000000000%

  • Most underrated band ever! Listen to the instrumental passage, great musicianship! Right up there with Rush.

  • The 80s were cool..I always wished I was an adult in the 70s haha!

  • @kastoo

Maybe we can figure out a way to "time bend" lol

  • The first things I moved into my dorm room were my stereo and LPs. I cranked this very album while moving in the rest of my stuff. Good times and good memories.

  • When i hear this all i can see is the white parachute pants the guy from the video had on

  • Who the hell could hate this song....friggin 18 idiots I guess!

  • i was there but i don;t remember much, the 80s were a blast

  • 18 people were busy sticking their hand up their bum and accidentally hit the 'dislike' button.

  • We put the mind on idle

And let the others take it for awhile

says it all about the 80's. We were having fun on our time not all the time like todays kids who have no work ethic or sense of family! You missed out on the greatest decade in modern history but Im sure you reality cr5ap will see you through...lol!!!!!

  • Everyone remember when this was on MTV and not the knocked up f***ing Teen Moms? MTV has gone to s**t.

  • @griffislo yeah really. MTV is the wrong name now.

  • @icametorock1

    Yea, now it's MORONIC TV!

  • @n8tureboy that sounds good and the slogan is "watch this crap and youre brain will be too. for everyone who was already watching youre way ahead"

  • @icametorock1

I gave up cable TV way back in 1994. Currently, I receive two channels via antenna and that's it. I don't miss TV at all, especially since we have YT now, LOL!

  • @griffislo They ought to change MTV's name as they are no longer a music tv channel

  • @griffislo u got that right

  • Comment removed

  • @griffislo I remember when MTV was the bomb but now its crap like who want to watch people with problems like ?/

  • @griffislo LOL! I remember all too well! MTV has gone to hell in a hand basket since then. I recall watching music videos back then. There wasn't all these 'reality' shows!

  • @griffislo but Death Valley is a worth checking out...

  • @griffislo ShoNuff!

  • Respond to this video... I remember pussy!

  • @ACERAMGAD I love my comment!

  • Respond to this video... I love life!!!

  • I remember when this used to come out on MTv,when MTv was MTv in the 80's.

  • @irnmadn99 ---ahhhh...the good ol days!!! They will be missed 4-ever!

  • I still have big 80's hair and I'm older than dirt. Love the 80's forever,.it will never leave my blood! I will always be "On the Loose"!!!!!

  • I still have big 80's hair and I'm older than dirt. Love the 80's forever,.it will never leave my blood!

  • Where's that time machine, dude? I must go back to this era so I can witness the masterpieces of these musicians.

  • The 80's was, as we used to say..."such a blast!" I think it was like the modern times version of The Renaissance of fashion and sounds musically, very electronic, and very sci fi too...

  • The Juice is loose!

  • Thanks for the memories... very happy to find this and relive 1982 all over again.

  • If you lived through the 80s you were either an airhead Reaganite or waiting for better days. What people forget is that, *like any era*, most of what came through the radio and TV was crap, which is what made the good stuff stand out.

In other words, if you're nostalgic for the 80s, you either weren't there or were part of the problem.

    Oh, yeah, and Saga rocks...

  • epic karaoke song

  • Btw, is this considered power pop or simply progressive rock?

  • I remember when Rush and saga ,max webster toured together those were the days. its really too bad that saga had to go to europe to make it big.

  • The 80's was the best i lived it I wish i could go back!!!!!!!!!!

  • I had that LP.... Now I have bought one dvd with live concert in Munich... hope magic still preserves in recording ;)

  • This song is in my personal TOP TEN from the 80s. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the LP at the time (I didn't had an allowance niether an income as many of my generation who were still in high school). I bought the CD in 1993, but the funny thing is that I bought it just for one song!!! Nowadays thanks to Napster or iTunes, you can have the songs that you like. I still have the CD, though I just like this song, I don't want to sell it on second hands. I feel I will lose a bit of my life!!!

  • YEAHHHHHH!!!! I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO THAT ERA MYSELF. LET'S JUST PRAY WE'LL GET THE CHANCE TO HAVE GROOVEY MUSIC LIKE THIS IN THE FUTURE. WHAT ARE CHILDREN ARRE MISSING. I M SERIOUS.

  • Strong voice, always reminded me of Dennis DeYoung.

  • So, if 'no one could stop them', then why aren't they still around? :(

  • @Papadupulous

They are. They're still playing and making the same great music.

  • " i keep going back to Vancouver to get my fix of badass music from this time period. fresh as the day it came out..."

  • Hey,...Sadler is back in the band! Welcome back Michael and godspeed to the excellent Rob Moratti who took over for him. New stuff is on the way too.

  • Great song,. I love the sound at the start

  • " Ian !!! "

  • Let them all eat....80s

  • 1981

  • @shaneinkster try 83

  • Sweet, for bringing memories forth....thanks!!

  • Great motivation song!!

  • Did anyone notice the album art? Her right eyeglass has some antiquated map, and her left eyeglass has a photo from deep field astronomy. In addition to the song, I thought the art was pretty sweet. Worlds Apart indeed.

  • @Slumpnasty No I didn't notice it, but thanks for pointing it out. Real nice!

  • @Slumpnasty captain obvious!!!!

  • @GoGoGadgetBeer What's obvious?

  • @Slumpnasty

Hey! I've always loved this album cover from back when I first saw it back in the 80's! Keep in mind though that this was taken before Hubble Deep Field pictures were taken. Worlds Apart indeed.

  • I haven't heard this in forever!!!! Thanks for the upload! : )
