I TOTALLY AGREE eric clapton couldnt hold steves sack!!! the most underated guitar player on earth steve was the man im a big fan of slash now cause he has so much feeling in his play but man i would have loved to see them two together in a band fckn mind blowin there!!!!
Words to live by. And yes, John Seaberg is one helluva bass player. I can testify! Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and Brooksie RIP. You are definitely missed.
Steve Gaines was awesome ,I discovered him when "One more from the Road came out ,which was Lynyrd Skynrds best album ,to me anyway " Look out I'm gonna sick an Okie on ya'll "
Fuckin' Aye! I just discovered his solo album "One in the Sun", perfection! He's always been my favorite guitar player from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Clapton is waaay overrated, he couldn't polish Steve's fretboard. Jimi is another story, he was from another planet.
I'm from Miami Oklahoma where Steve and Cassie were from... If anyone's ever heard of the band Crawdad, it's the band Steve was in before LS.
I've heard one of the original recordings of this song back when it was preformed at the Ranch with John Seaberg on bass and Ronnie Brooks on drums.... it easily blows this version out of the water.... totally INSANE!! I got to hang with John Seaberg quite a bit this summer and he told me lots of cool stories from back in the day....
@LannetteLynn I'm an old Southern Boy who has loved Skynyrd and Southern Rock all of my life, and not until tonight did I discover what a true musical talent Steve Gaines really was. I did not know much about him honestly. I am blown away! Completely.

I just checked Wikipedia and found out it was John Seaberg on bass. Kickass!

The bass playing on this cut is amazing! Does anyone know who it is? Kind of reminiscent of certain Bay Area bands.
