i have a problem with youtube. theres a white rectangle that blocks half the top part of the screen but it doesnt block the video. and a problem with the inbox. it says i have new comments even after i already read them

Usually I just click the progress bar to scan through the video until something either happens or I reach the end. Like I skip ahead and stuff. If the video is genuinely entertaining at some point, I wont miss it, and if it isn't, I only waste a few seconds of my time instead of minutes or hours.
