In the first line it's "proudly", not "gladly".
I think the last line is actually, "And shed his blood to stem the flood to barricade invasion."

Hey guys I wouldn't bother arguing. xD Seriously lyrics like these are confusing to understand, the last line might be right, but hey it might be wrong. Just try and enjoy the song all the same okay? :D My best friend believes it's 'stem the flood' so...hear it as you want to, I'm not here to tell you it's wrong. :3

@CrystalSiren19 No, you're quite alright. :D I'll be honest, I didn't know it was any language, I thought at the most it would be Latin. Then I heard "he would gladly die for." and realized it was English. Then I listened and it's just what I heard. There's absolutely nothing to say I'm more right. :) You seem like a genuinely nice person, so there's no problem. :)

I was just listening really really really closely and noticed what the true lyrics were so when people say that the lyrics are different than this video suggests, it bugs me for some odd reason. :] no problem. To me, it's more "proudly" than "gladly" and "spread than "stem". Also, spread is more logical, because his blood sheds and continue spreading it... a flood of blood.
But I always laugh because it's funny to see how we all hear different things from a same song :D

You need to listen very carefully there are two different set's of lyrics for this song I have it and i listened to it over and over and over just to be sure this song is only 3:03 long my copy is 5:42 i have both sets of lyrics so everyone is right you just have different versions of the same song.
