Demo of the HGR2488 Monitor interface for the TASCAM 2488

I have had two Tascam 2488s break, the screen will work for about 20 min and then just go to a blank screen, I have tried the contrasts... Any idea whats wrong?!? After I shut it off and turn it back on the screen remains blank, (still can have audio) If the tascam stays off for a while it will work again for about 20 minutes... please help!

YES it works for all 2488's original, MKII and NEO

I’ve been using the 2488 for over 12 years. My brother & I have gone thru 3 of them. I’ve used other methods of recording such as Protools, Cubase & Ableton Live - but I just keep coming back to the 2488. I even gave up my Steinberg MR816 & Cubase 5 - and started using the 2488 again souly. It’s so reliable & easy to use. I wish Tascam would expand on designing computer software to integrate with this wonderful piece of hardware.

Hi you guys! HGR looks great, and so simple to install.

I myself own a TASCAM DP02CF: are there any plans in the future to develope a VGA-interface for this portastudio? Or is the HGR2488 also compatible with the DP02CF?

It is very nice, Tascam should make the product with the interface included, as well as a monitor connector at the rear of the 2488

This rocks ! Please make this affordable and I promise it will change the industry. It is one of the (few) things lacking in such a powerful recorder. I LOVE MINE !- And I have had every portable home system out there ! WAY TO GO !

This is great. I've been thinking about doing this for a couple of years. I'm getting a little older now and that small interface is really hard to see. How did you do it? Is the wiring and pinout on the little LCD the same as a VGA monitor?
