lol u tried to quote me syaing "oh the Heat didn't have a great team" i didnt even say that lmao ...
i said if u compare LBJ teammates vs kobes teammates whoes had the better help? not one team in 30/40 years have won a championship with ONE superstar (excluding 2004 pistons that was a total team effort) hence why he left Cavs for miami...
I love how people keep making excuses for James, it is so fucking pathetic. He could have Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Hakeem, Pippen, Stockton and Nash on his team and when he lost they'd still blame the team saying they weren't good enough. When is it going to end? Hasn't James proved himself already? Hasn't he proven to everyone that he is over hyped and is clearly not the best player in the NBA? I would think that his nearly 10 years in the league now should prove that.
@funakiexpressV2 no way, Kobe was better than James in those 5 years, because LeBron's athleticism is all he has, so what? That means nothing. I don't care how high he can jump or if he can make a wide open dunk, can he hit a 3 consistently? No. Can he make clutch FT's? No. Can he do anything clutch at all? No. Can he make Kobe like shots? No. Can he defend well? No, want an example? 2011 NBA Finals, he was guarding Terry, that went well huh? James has no finesse and needs the refs to shoot FT's
@RyZombie619 Dude how can u say that... Kobe is so inaefficent... most players cant hit 3s consitently .. and Lebron eliminated 3s from his game this season.... Lebron is tonnes more effiecient then kobe... Clutch? kobe hasnt hit anything clutch in 2 seasons so he hasnt done much either? lol of course lebron can defend well.. his defence is top notch... if he commits to jason terry that opens up for dirk doesnt it? lol mavs shot 42% in 3 games due to LBJ defence
@RyZombie619 his only weakness is his mentality down the stretch and his mouth getting the best of him... and damn needs ref to shoot FTs?? Kobe always looking at the refs for calls, and he's known to flop now and then...
@funakiexpressV2 no, when it comes to winning, that is all that matters, and Kobe Bryant is more efficient than LeBrick James at that, I am sorry, but that is a fact. I don't need to point out to you how many chances LeBron has had to win it all and yet what does he do? He fails. I could understand if his team was doing terrible and he was doing great and still failed, not much you can do there, but when he is playing worse than his teammates are...that is pathetic.
@RyZombie619 how many chances? he's only had 2 real chances to win it all... and a one man team against the a full team defensive spurs is a feat only the pistons and heat could over come lol... his team was terrible.. his only stars were antwan jamison? 37year old shaq?(cavs).... ill admit he wasnt too great 2011 finals...
Kobe is 36/118 when it comes to hitting the game winning shot lol he hasnt hit anything since early 2010 lmao he missed a fairly open shot against dalllas in the playoffs.
@funakiexpressV2 he has had many chances, he has only been to the finals twice, but what his fiasco in the playoffs? His team was terrible? That team that was the favorite to win it all? The team with the best record in the NBA? That was a terrible team?? Wow, well next time I see a team that has the best record and is the favorite to win, I will remember, they are a terrible team. lmao!! Pathetic excuse. The Heat were a stacked team, no excuse there. You have no argument, NONE! ZIP! ZERO!
@RyZombie619 regular season record doesnt mean ur the best team, cavs and heat play in the east, the east in the past decade has little competition past magic/celtics/heat and cavs and now bulls.. shit spurs had the best record most of the year last year and got eliminated round 1... bulls had the best record and got beat by 2nd seed heat lol cavs team was lebron sharing the ball cuz mike brown is average as coach.. heat had no one exciting coming off the bench lol
@funakiexpressV2 No regular season record doesn't mean you are the best team but it certainly doesn't mean you are a TERRIBLE team like you claimed they were. Terrible teams don't get those kinds of records. Oh so now you are blaming LeBron's Heat teammates for why they lost the NBA finals? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?????!!! Ummm, the Heat team James is playing for right now is one of the most stacked teams in NBA history, you are a fucking moron. You aren't even worth talking to.
@RyZombie619 MOST STACKED TEAM!!?!?!?!? dude the 80s celtics/80s lakers/90s bulls and 80s pistons are real stacked teams.... the heat outside of the big 3+shane battier are average lol i didnt say LBJs teammates are the reason they lost the finals stop taking my comments out of context lmao im not even worth talking to but u write 4 messages at once so no idea what you're doing lol
lol u avoided "almost" everyone of my comments lmao
@funakiexpressV2 I said one of the most stacked teams, not the most. Definitely the most stacked team of this period. LeBron is a good player when he is on target, but how often is that? He can't win. When he wins, then he will be in the discussion, but he hasn't done shit yet. He has to win something in order to even be in the discussion with a Kobe or a MJ. And I understand if he was on a crappy team but he wasn't. He wasn't on the Raptors or the Timberwolves, he keeps struggling
@RyZombie619 just remember one thing.. they're a stacked team on paper... the big 3 have never really performed big together (i can only think of there 30 point blow out against spurs they had 90 point all together)... lebron dominated in the ECF and dwade did absolutely crap.. but that was reversed in the finals... LBJ clutchness was never in question until 2010 ECSF against celtics... he was generally good in 4th quarter up to that point... 25point 4qurt performance against pistons 2007 ecf??
@RyZombie619 and yeah MJ said that but kobe is 2-3 years from the end of his career... LBJ is still young at 27 and still has tonnes of time to prove himself lol...
Jordan didnt win won until he was 29( we can blame the bad boy pistons/celtics for that) lol.. i said LBJ is been better the past 5 years... that didnt mean he was better overall... kobe may retire with the better legacy... but LBJ is the complete package
@funakiexpressV2 how is LBJ the complete package? honestly, how? if he can't play in clutch situations, if he can't make FT's, if he can't be a team leader, if he has no finesse, I think a few things are missing don't you?
@funakiexpressV2 oh and btw, hate to break it to you, but the true king has spoken, MJ just said Kobe is the only player that can be compared to him, enough said. it came from the man himself. case closed
@funakiexpressV2 It is 100% LeBron's own fault that he shot 20 and 30 some percent in those finals games. I am not going to look up the stats again for an incompetent fool like yourself who is still sucking LeBron's cock. It's amazing how soon people forget. You are a fucking idiot, I'm sorry. You think LeBron is better when he is on fire? Sorry, it doesn't matter if you are on fire or not, what matters is if you can consitently do it, which he can't. Vince Carter is one of the best players
@funakiexpressV2 when HE IS ON FIRE, but who gives a shit? He can't do that all the time, so guess what, he isn;t even close to being one of the best, same with James. If he can't play like that all the time and in the most important games, he is not the best, that is just a simple fact that everyone should agree with, but unfortunately people think that what he does in the regular season shows how talented he is. Don't make anymore excuses for this guy ok? You just look like an idiot
@funakiexpressV2 When you say things like "oh the Heat didn't have a great team" bull shit, it just makes you look retarded ok? They had three of the best players in the NBA on one team, sure their bench wasn't great, but they stepped up when they were needed, Miller and House for example, and now they have Battier. You just keep fishing for excuses when he fails. I am sorry but how is it the teams fault when their "star" player disappears? He is ROBIN, more than he is Batman.
@funakiexpressV2 right now?? Have you been watching James lately? He is pathetic. Kobe is the one going off, not James. James is a joke, you need to realize that because it's a fucking fact. I am so sick of "oh its my opinion" bull shit, well then your opinion is wrong because James has been hyped up so much and has done so little and morons like you continue to praise him for showboating and doing nothing while Kobe wins titles.
@RyZombie619 Kobe has always had good players around him(except 2006-2008) glen rice, shaq, robert horry, old karl malone & gary peyton, pau gasol, derrick fisher, matt barnes, trevor ariza, ron artest, nick van exel, andrew bynum, lamar odom.. alll while having phil jackson as his coach... PHIL JACKSON!
now compare that to the cavs/ heat teams LBJ has played with so far... i aint praising him or sucking him off im just saying right now 2012 he's the better player overall calm down lol
@funakiexpressV2 He is not clutch in any way, and how can you say Kobe isn't clutch? He has been clutch his whole life you douche bag. Your comment on if he commits to Terry it leaves Dirk open is a classic LeBron cock sucking excuse, Bosh couldn't handle Dirk?? Give me a break, he didn't even attempt to guard Terry you moron. LeBron needs to the help of the refs because his whole game plan is to drive and get a foul, and a lot of times those calls are going for LeBron.
@funakiexpressV2 Kobe may look for fouls, but if he doesn't get the call he may talk to the ref and that's it, what does James do? He puts his hands up and runs to the ref like he is going to cry, he is a baby. And I'll take the more complete player, Kobe, the player that can win, the player that can shoot, the player that doesn't break down in big games. You have no case. You are just one of those idiots who will forever think James is a godsend even though he fails time after time.
@RyZombie619 kobe can win in big games? everytime he gets eliminated from the playoffs its a blowout lmao what exactly are these big games? cause he got owned last playoffs lol all im saying is right now lebron is better then kobe..
and in fact kobe is the most overrated player just for the fact that people even say he's the greatest all time WTF!? over michael jordan, larry bird and magic johnson YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME lol
@funakiexpressV2 And the fact you can't even spell tons right shows me I am dealing with someone with a basketball IQ of about -5. James is the MOST OVERRATED player in NBA history, only idiots don't realize that. NBA finals proved it, the playoffs have proved it, there isn't much more that is needed to prove that point.
I'm a realist and Kobe is too injured and has too much mileage and is past his prime
Kobe is still one of the best which is an amazing feet for any 15 season player in which 14 of those were playoff bound and about 6-7 were all the way in the finals
people get old and kobe was my favourite and still is
but again young kobe>young lebron
kobes style would do better in the 90s than lebrons style
but i dont think the bad boy pistons would need to be "bad" with lebron
theyre defensive scheme is so good when lebron drives theyd bump him off the lane and even if somehow he got a counter move itd be mechanical and the pistons would be able to stop him without hitting him
i mean the only reason why MJ got through a few times was because he had like 5 counter moves haha
I don't understand the fact the there's even a discussion about this, hands down Kobe is the best player, he's been champion recently, other than being MVP what else can lebron bring in to the discussion, championships make you great, not media hype like it has been since lebron high school days, making him look he was better than even MJ, c'mon get real, the closest player to MJ is Kobe not lebron and by far kobe is the better player until lebron gets his 6th or 7th title which I don't think w
How is this even a question ?!! Kobe or Lebron..hmmm..are you kidding me?!! Lebron is alergic to being clutch and being clutch is like Kobes 2nd nature. It's not even a dispute
What hype am I suppose to NOT believe in about Kobe? LeBron James is the most overhyped player in this generation. "King James" , "The Chosen One" blah blah. He hasn't done shit. All hes done is make up an hour long show about where hes deciding to go play next season and then promise the world to win 7 rings.
What has Kobe done this DECADE? Won rings, clutch performances, broken records, moved up on all time scoring list, I can go ON and ON. Kobe has backed his shit up. Hes not overrated.
@Penk0o haha too early to say that. Dwade will have to play even harder come finals time to take Lebron on first championship ride. Dwad will be finals mvp in all three of those of and when they get there. Unless Lebron turns his game around and actually helps lift the weight of Wade's shoulders
@TheRaptorRapture head to heads dont determine the better player. True greatness is revealed when it matters most. Oh and Kobes not a ballhog. Just because he has the ball most of the time and demands the ball doesnt mean hes a ballhog.players who keep the ball longer than theyre supposed to are hogs. The Lakers ran isolation plays for him because it was an efficient way to score. You dont win a ring by being a ball hog lol, You play like a team to win.
@jrmurillo09 ty ! they made him the logo cause he was the MJ of his recent years ! KOBE SHITS ON WEST BRO it's like we the only people who know that !
@501stEliteClone kobes a ballhog who doesnt make his teammates better and you know it if hes better then lebron how come he couldnt take his team to the finals by himself and lebron did?
@TheRaptorRapture um i believe pau and bynum have been better than they used to be .... I okay um so what if lebron made it to the finals he is in the east the lakers had to compete against san antonio, suns, nuggets(with iverson) utah. So ur saying back in 06 kobe didnt make his team better um well thats cuz the cavs had a better overall team than LA in 06. We had no other scorer besides kobe and u had a suck ass center. U say kobe is a ballhog so what he was the best player so u dont want the
@501stEliteClone btw im a raptors fan not a cavs or heat fan but even tho im a raps fan i know whos been the best player since 05' kobe was the one who ran shaq out of town cuz he wanted to be a glory hog and lebrons only what 26 years old he has a good 10 years of bball in him and when he retires from the game he will most definately be better then kobrick bryant
@TheRaptorRapture after i read this comment i started sneezing cuz u know im alergic to bullshit. First of all its Lebrick The asshole lebron fans just copied what people have been saying lebrons career. One he will not be better cuz he chokes, 2 he has no godamn rings, three sure saybe he would go down as a top 50 top 40 top 30 top 20 but not top 10. Kobe will be a top 10 player you know and i know it. He is going to get a statue and thats special considering all the other great lakers..
@TheRaptorRapture also lebron is egotistic, arrogant, immature, even with the best team lebron cant win a ring. You have no arguement all you did was say lebron was better and talked about kobe??? wtf are you talking about. First of all shaq left cuz the lakers failed to win against the pistons so he went somewhere else. You say kobe is a ballhog um whats wrong with it , nothing as long as he makes the team win doesnt really prove anything if he is a "ballhog".
@TheRaptorRapture only reason why lebron passes off the last shot is because he is scared to make the team lose. I know your saying kobe is a ballhog because he always takes the last shot but so what at least he has the balls to take it unlike LEBRICK SHAME
@501stEliteClone yeah but difference is kobe gets no heat if he misses the last shot and hes not that good in the clutch, melo is the best current player in the clutch and lebron has hit some big shots in his cleveland days and he did own the bulls and celtics in the playoffs with dagger ass shots, kobe is a selfish ballhog who doesn't trust his teammates lebron isnt.
@TheRaptorRapture FIRST KOBE DOES TRUST SOME OF HIS TEAMMATES LIKE DEREK FISHER WHO ALWAYS HITS BIG THREES. Sure no doubt melo is clutch but its the big shots that kobe makes. Only reason why kobe doesnt get any heat is because he makes so many of those it doesnt really matter if he misses them once in a while. First of all this is a sport um yeah the point of it is winning so what if he is selfish during clutch situations he is the leader and he will lead them to victory.
@501stEliteClone Even Smush Parker publicly criticized kobe with his tenure with the lakers said it starts with kobe and ends wit kobe, how is that being a good teammate every teammate lebron has had said that he improves his teammates level of play and makes others around him better, kobe is overrated in all aspects of the game just a high volume shooter who cries to much.
@TheRaptorRapture smush didnt do crap for the lakers. He is just mad that kobe was the leader not him. You know what i think ur just mad cuz he popped an 81 on u guys... Ur sucha hater u had nothing else to say but kobe this kobe that u had no knockout arguement you just repeated the same things over and over. Enough with this talk when the season starts which is on christmas.
@501stEliteClone he got the 81 from not passing it once to a single teammate ROFL just proved my point that hes the biggest ball hog in NBA history hes not the only 1 who exposed kobe so I have a point and you can't deny it man just face it KOBE IS DONE!
@TheRaptorRapture head to head matchups huh um sure ill humor you...... First of all his teammates passed it to him why would they pass if they want the ball. Dude u can say all you want but when they retire people will remember kobe the most, again and again with the ballhog thing thats the only comeback you have. Head to head matchups huh okay so your saying anyone who beat jordan in a matchup is better than him? naah its blasphemy when you talk shit about jordan. But not kobe ??
@TheRaptorRapture best player in the team to have ball much. I dont really understand your argument cuz its a team game so if the lakers did not have the proper people then how would they succeed. And it doesnt really matter if lebron took them to the finals its not about how he got there its about what happend when he did. So what if they were a great team and they had lebron. Was all that enough for them to win... uh NO . A loss is a loss doesnt matter how big or small the lead is .....
Yeah Jerry West(and anyone else who said that)definitely is buggin. Lebron has more skills than Kobe?? Are you serious??? From footwork,to jumpshot,to using the off hand,to basketball IQ,to free throw shooting,to playing in the clutch...I mean the list can go on and on. Lebron is more PHYSICALLY imposing, but thats about it. I think if you asked ANY NBA player whose GAME they would have if they could,I think it would be damn near unanimous.
@alexcrixus the slam dunk title and all star game mvp have nothing to do with kobe's resume. those are useless titles that dont take much effort to get.
@pkil232 Well, then Lebron even doesn't have those useless titles...so dont even mention championship rings ...
Lebron even backed off from participating the slam dunk contest...... so you already got your answer . Lebron does not even want to take that little effort to win a slam dunk or all stars game, so don't mention the NBA finals . That is why He does not win at this point ! Kobe is the mamba king bad ass !
@alexcrixus participating in the all star game has ZERO impact on your career achievements. nobody gets into the HOF because of their all star game play. it wont hurt lebron that he didnt win those titles, and it wont help that kobe won those titles. no one cares.
@alexcrixus because u dumb ass doesn't care does not erase Kobe's accomplishment. Kobe's accomplishment above everything Lebron can offer! Period ! !!
What? How can these guys agree that Lebron has better SKILLS than Kobe? You can say Lebron can be more dominant and he's stronger and more of a beast, but he does not have more skills than Kobe at all.
@wilsonsmanz Yeah he's more athletic but skill wise, Lebron lacks lots of basketball fundamentals knowledge and his footwork is horrible, and his ball handling skills are outmatched by too many other players.
@ipwnthelegend i noe . kobe looks like a fuckin peice of shit compared to brian scalarines and lebron will get shited on by brian scalbrines in a 1on1 match the score is gonna be 10000000000000 to 0.1
kobe in his prime was better than any player ive ever seen. he broke many records and proved he is the best closer in the game. if u want to compare two players you have to compare them on what they did and right now lebron hasnt shown us anything extraordinary like kobe has. u might say hes a ballhog but hes just stepping his game up when his team needs him and thats called being a team leader. yes i am a kobe fan but i also respect what any player does cuz i dont love kobe, i love basketball.
I'm a lakers fan but in their prime kobe would kill lebron. but as of now physically lebron is younger and can still do the things easier than kobe. kobe is getting old but I still think kobe has better footwork and shot making ability. maybe not as agile as he once was.
@IOYB Carmelo best Clutch player easy, lebron aint clutch at all Carmelo is a better rebounder & hes getting alot better at his D. And you must not rember Carmelo shot the game winner over lebrons head and made him cry so suck it hahah
I'm not a Heat fan, buddy. I actually despise the Heat and LeBron, but there's no dismissing his ability. In fact, Miami is so much better than New York, it's not even funny.
@IOYB Well see. Only reason miami is better then new york is because of there D. other then that knicks have them. And how can you judge Carmelo Stat & Chauncey billups where only together for a short time, and i know they got knocked out in the 1st four games but Carmelo played his heart out thea thow he just needs his team to help out. Hopefully Jr smith goes to NY and where set for the champion ship. knicks & Miami would be a good compiton thow
Miami's only better because of their D? Ummm...yeah, buddy. Defense is half the game. Great defensive teams have won the title for decades now. I'm not saying New York can't get better, they obviously can, but to say that they're better than Miami RIGHT NOW is foolish.
@picturedude1st BULL SHIT. Steve Nash is a two time back to back MVP, is he better than Kobe Bryant? HELL NO. Is he better than John Stockton?? NO WAY! MVP's=who is POPULAR at the time. RINGS=how good a team is, but also, how good the leader on that team is. Nash hasn't won a single ring, and he has had some amazing teams.
@RyZombie619 actually, mvp's are who is the best player in the league THAT YEAR and NOT the most popular. if it was the most popular, kobe would get it every year. i didnt know that the leader of a team was rewarded extra than anybody else on a championship team. last time i checked they all got rings and bonuses if it was in their contract
@picturedude1st I mean most popular within in the NBA, not most popular in the world. The MVP is awarded to Stern's poster boy of the NBA, there is no reason why Nash should have gotten it twice back to back. Rings mean more than the MVP ever will.
@RyZombie619 thats because the poster boy IS the best player in the nba. and, based on what you're saying, is that brian scalibrine has had a better career than lebron, because he has a ring
@picturedude1st ummm, no I am not. Don't be the typical tool and use the "oh Robert Horry has 5 rings" excuse, we all know that Robert Horry could not lead a team to save his life, same with Scalabrine. When comparing great players, rings make it, ok? That is just a fact, who the bench warmer for the team was, no one cares about, he could have 10 rings, so what? Is he comparable to LeBron or Kobe? No so don't even use that excuse. When comparing STAR players, key word there, rings are the diff.
@picturedude1st If LeBron is credited for all the wins, he should be credited with all the failures too because he contributes HEAVILY to those failures. Now, the MVP is not always the best player. You still danced around my question of whether or not Nash was the best player, he WAS NOT. Kobe was scoring 40 a night and put up 81 points when MR. "Wow I get 10 assists a game" Nash was getting the back to back MVP's, that is pathetic, and coincidentally, it all happened after the Colorado incident
@picturedude1st Stern is all about marketing his players. It's a business, LeBron was hyped from the beginning as the "Chosen One" or the Next Jordan, called himself The "King", well Stern found someone who could sell jerseys. Why do you think ESPN and NBA.com always talk about James and how great he is, when he does jack shit? Why does ESPN show him in the top 10 continually when all he does is make a wide open two handed, elementary dunk? Because, THEY LOVE HIM, it's not rocket science.
@RyZombie619 wow you must really think your accomplishing something by replying to my comment with three more comments that are like a paragraph each. im not going to argue with you. if you say that lebron isn't good then you seriously need some mental help. i'll try to google some doctors for you. i'll message you once i find one who can deal with your extreme case of stupidity. it might take a while, so don't expect me to find one right away, but just know that i will be looking.
@picturedude1st that is your comeback? lol. Do you want to answer my question of who was a better player the two years Nash got MVP, Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant? I never said James isn't good, said he wasn't the best. And I am pretty sure that anyone who witnessed what James did in last years finals, the playoffs the two years before that, and still claim him to be the best really needs THEIR HEAD EXAMINED. So..maybe instead of looking for me, look for yourself, you can be helped.
@RyZombie619 : the 2 years nash won MVP YES nash was definitely better than kobe...07 when dirk won it nash was still better than dirk & kobe & should've 3peat that award.
@imsljr420 are you fucking kidding me? Nash was better than Kobe from 2004-2006? Lets see here in the 2004-05 season Nash had: 15.5 ppg and had one of the best teams in the league, still could not get to the finals, basically swept by the Spurs. Where as Kobe in that same season averaged 27.6 ppg and had a terrible team. In the 2005-06 season, Nash averaged 18.8 ppg and still could not lead his team to the finals. Kobe FUCKING Bryant averaged 35.4 ppg that season, MORE THAN HE EVER HAS.
@imsljr420 and that team, which was god awful, took Nash's Suns to 7 games, basically because of Kobe alone. The only way you can think Nash was better than Kobe Bryant , WHEN KOBE BRYANT WAS IN HIS PRIME, is you are either A: high B: stupid C: a Kobe hater D: uninformed as to what the stats were or E: a huge Steve Nash fan.
@RyZombie619 : nash is definitely not better than kobe but those 3 years he was..yeah he had help but we saw what happened when he got injured they struggled 2 score & win games. he came back & they were once again the #1 offense...when lakers took suns 2 game 7 suns were missing amare other wise it would've been a sweep or 5 games plus amare only payed 3 games that season & nash still took them to 54 wins..so just bcuz MJ didn't win it 3X that means no else should? ehem LARRY BIRD
@RyZombie619 :"D: uninformed as to what the stats were"...but im going to guess when stats favor someone else not named kobe you say "stats don't mean anything"
it evens out kobe had odom nash had marion(amare was injured) so even if u think marion > odom (which 2 me it's a tie) u still have kobe> nash so y couldn't lakers win?..sorry 2 inform u but the league is not going 2 change their rules 4 u kobe fans just bcuz u guys WANTED kobe to win doesn't mean he deserved it.
@imsljr420 ok first off, KOBE WAS BETTER, that is just a fact. Did Nash have an 81 point game? No, he didn't, sorry, that just closes the book as far as I am concerned, that 81 point game plus the amounts of points he was averaging make him better than Nash. "so just bcuz MJ didn't win it 3X that means no else should? ehem LARRY BIRD" Point? Larry Bird is a high caliber player like Jordan, Nash is not on that same level, sorry. I don't say stats don't mean anything, but what stats favored Nash?
@RyZombie619 : well the media sure didn't think it was a fact that kobe was better that's why they voted 4 nash...r u telling me that scott skills was better than magic? WTF?...what stats favor nash? um how about assist, field goal % free throw % 3pt % EFFICIENCY, win shares...not a stat but the fact that he made players around him better.
@imsljr420 assists? the most overrated stat in the NBA? lol, sorry, I don't care if Nash had 20 assists a game, fact of the matter is Kobe was better. The goal of basketball is to score, players who are considered the best (like Jordan) were ones that scored the most points, ahem, Kobe. Nash was not better, sorry. Again, the absurdity of your comment to think both teams were comparable is hilarious. You are comparing a veteran all star in Marion to a unsure, non all star in Odom, not a fairmatch
@RyZombie619 : so iverson is consider better than magic?...NOBODY would agree with that. iverson is a scorer magic is a play maker so is stockton, kidd, thomas & they're considered some of the best ever...i thought the goal of basketball was to win....so if marion who entered in 99 is a veteran then what is odom who also entered in 99? ok so according 2 u marion > odom but u still got kobe > nash so that evens out so why couldn't kobe win especially since he was up 3-1.
@imsljr420 Why couldn't Kobe's team win? How would Nash have enjoyed a team with Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Luke Walton as the starters? Players that would be benchwarmers for Nash's Suns...yeah, he couldn't even make it to the playoffs with that team. Kobe didn't deserve it???? Are you f'ing kidding me?? Maybe you didn't notice but he had an 81 point game and was averaging 27 ppg and 35 ppg, that is pretty deserving to me.
@imsljr420 HOW CAN YOU say, that Kobe did not deserve the MVP when he was playing his best basketball?? How can you honestly say that? That is fucking moronic dude, sorry, it just is. Nash was good, but Kobe was better and he showed that. Nash with a team of Kobe's wouldn't have made it to the playoffs in the first place. Not to mention the small fact Nash could never score the amount of points Kobe was scoring.
@RyZombie619 : you know why i can say kobe didn't deserve the MVP?..because i don't suck players dicks & worship them, i go by reality. michael jordan is my favorite player, in 93 barkley won MVP over him, i didn't care bcuz i felt barkley deserved it more over him since his team had the better record.( but im glad we won the championship)
@imsljr420 I see what you are saying, Nash deserved one of those MVP's, I just don't think he deserved both, I really honestly think Kobe deserved the 05-06 one because he took a terrible team much further than anyone in the league at the time could have, averaged 35.4 ppg and had that historic 81 point game, that is MVP worthy to me. I know the media did not think so, but ESPN pretty much agrees with anything STern does and Kobe's whole Colorado incident really made him unpopular.
@imsljr420 I bet if Kobe did not have that Colorado situation hanging over him, he would have won one of those MVP's. Those were the years Kobe was playing some of his best basketball, now come on, how can you deny one of the best players in NBA history, at his prime, an NBA MVP award? That is idiotic. And no, Iverson is not better than Magic, why? Because Magic could: A: pass better than anyone, B: play defense, C: play any position on the court and D: could score as much as anyone else.
@imsljr420 Kobe vs Nash: Kobe is better on offense and on defense, Nash is not a good defender and he is not someone who can score at will. Nash is a much better passer and floor leader, and he is faster, but he is not a better scorer and defender. So I have to say Kobe is better and was better at least one of those years Nash got MVP.
@imsljr420 And I would be saying this about anyone who had the skills Kobe has, not only because I am a Lakers fan. If Nash scored 35 ppg, hand an 81 point game and took an awful team to the playoffs, I would totally feel he deserved the MVP. I am looking at REALITY here, ok? I am looking at how good of a player Kobe was, the kind of shots he made, his skill, the 81 point game that CAN NOT BE IGNORED, the talent of his team, how far he took them, all those come into play.
@imsljr420 what difference does it make how many games they win, that doesn't matter at all, MVP=Most Valuable Player, not Most Valuable Team, or Most Valuable Teammate. The whole point of the MVP is to award the player that has the most individual talent, sorry, that goes to Kobe Bryant for that 05-06 season.
@RyZombie619 : no MVP goes to the best player on the best team...last season i felt lebron should've won it but since Bulls had the best record they gave it to rose & i guess also since lebron was with wade that probably disqualified him.
@imsljr420 no, what is pathetic is your inability to realize that Kobe Bryant, the year Steve Nash won MVP in 05-06, had the second highest scoring game in NBA HISTORY, averaged over 30 ppg and took a terrible team 7 games with the Suns who were one of the best teams in the league.
@RyZombie619 : one great game does not deserve an MVP. why didn't scott skills win MVP the yr he had that 30 assist game?...do you understand basketball? he average over 30 bcuz he was their main scoring option he had a bunch of scrubs so he put up a lot of shots but all that scoring couldn't get them 50 wins maybe he should've let odom score more.
@imsljr420 ONE GREAT GAME????? Pretty sure that when you average over 30ppg, you have more than ONE great game. And I can just tell right now from your nonchalant attitude towards that game that you can't stand Kobe, because no one in their right mind would say that was just a regular great game. If Jordan did it, you'd be jumping up and down and acting like it was the greatest thing ever, but since Kobe did it, you are very "who cares" about it, lol, that is pathetic.
@RyZombie619 : yes he also had that 62 in 3qts vs dallas that was amazing as well...how is my attitide "nonchalant"?...did you want me to type "OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING!!!"...come on dude...a lot of people discredit kobe for his 81 pt game saying it was against the 2nd ranked worst defense (which it was) but to me i give him credit because they're still a professional team...the 62 in 3 qts dallas was ranked 7th on defense so that's even more impressive.
@imsljr420 First off, it's not Scott SKILLS, it is Scott Skiles and why didn't he win MVP? Because WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT ASSISTS???? You don't award the MVP to someone because they got a ton of assists otherwise Rajon Rondo would get it every year. Why is it that the players who are always in the MVP discussion are the leading scorers in the NBA? Hmmmmm, I wonder, maybe because POINTS are the most important STAT. Question is, do you understand basketball? Clearly not.
@RyZombie619 :"Why is it that the players who are always in the MVP discussion are the leading scorers in the NBA?"....ok let's see 01 duncan #2 in MVP voting & not top 5 in scoring....02 duncan MVP kidd #2 - duncan #5 in scoring kidd not top 5....03 duncan MVP not top 5 in scoring...04 duncan #2 j.oniel #3 non top 5 in scoring....05 nash MVP not top 5 in scoring...06 nash MVP billups #5 non top 5 in scoring....07 nash #2 duncan #4 non top 5 in scoring...03 tmac =32.1 & no MVP
@RyZombie619 : rondo has never led the league in assist since he entered......is nash like the face of the NBA or something?....is stern changing the rules just for him?..did he say "even tough you don't score a lot we'll give you the MVP so our rating will go up".
@imsljr420 Let Odom score more? Are you kidding? If you think Lamar Odom is some sort of great basketball player you are either A: delusional or B: haven't ever seen him play. Probably one of the most streaky players I've seen. Odom was not a great player, he had his nights but you can't rely on that. The Suns who weren't 100% still better than the Lakers at 100%, I'd take Grant Hill, or Shawn Marion, or Barbosa, or Raja Bell any day over Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Luke Walton.
@RyZombie619 : so you think odom is a bum?...go tell that to kobe who was pissed that they lost him...he didn't get upset when they lost kwame or parker cuz they were bums but why was he upset when they lost odom?..bcuz he helped them during their championship runs...100 % guarantee if odom played with jordan or lebron ppl like u would say "oh they got to play with great players like odom"....but when players team with kobe some how they're bums according to the kobetards.
@RyZombie619 : they years nash was winning MVP hill wasn't on the roster....yes i would take marion, barbosa & bell over kwame, smush & luke as well but would you take raja bell & barbosa over odom?...i wouldn't .
& i did say why nash deserved MVP..because he was efficient & made player around him better. when he was out they struggled to score & win...even when his team wasn't 100% he still made them look good.
@imsljr420 I never said Odom was a bum, I just said he was not as good as you are making him out to be. I was mad we lost him too, but I still think Nash had a much better team. Nash WAS the face of the NBA, just like any organization, the NBA is political. Kobe was not liked back then for many reasons A: the Colorado situation, B: the whole meltdown with Shaq, C: how he was asking for a trade D: he was being somewhat of a selfish player, so Kobe had a lot of negativity thrown his way
@RyZombie619 : Bullshit nash was never the face of the NBA...to be the face or main marketing guy your jerseys and/or shoes have to sell...no one was buying nash merchandize..it was still about kobe, t-mac, iverson, shaq those were the main guys especially shaq.
@imsljr420 Nash was a clean cut guy that could be a role model and the face of the NBA, I think that is a major reasons why he won back to back MVP's. Efficiency in win shares and all that really means nothing, stats are important but not EVERY stat is important. You also have to watch the player and see what they are doing on the court, you can't just go to your computer screen and bring up the stats and say "oh well he deserves MVP because he has more win shares"
@RyZombie619 : efficiency & win shares shows what the player did to help his team win, that's why i use it as an argument....i won't use rebounds or assist because those all depend on the situation.
@imsljr420 Rondo would get 10 or more assists in many games, at one game he had 20 assists, so yeah Rondo was an assist machine, so like you said with Skiles, he had one game of 30 assists, well if that is MVP worthy than Rondo would get the MVP. That was my point, clearly you didn't get it. I think Kobe made players around him better, although Walton sucked, he was much better back then than he is now. Odom became a better player because of Kobe. So I think Kobe does make players
@RyZombie619 : well i think you're the only laker fan that realize luke walton was actually good at one time like you said he was better then than he is now...in 04 finals game 2 kobe hit the game winner but if not for luke they wouldn't even be in that situation to win. shaq said "we had guys that played with me for yrs & they still don't know how to get me the ball then we have this rookie who knows when & where to get me the ball".
@imsljr420 around him better. And going back to that 81 point game, it doesn't matter who he played against. The fact is he was hitting shots that were unmakeable for most NBA players, and it's not like there was no D on him at all, they had a hand in his face for most of those 3's he took. Also, Wilt's 100 points isn't that impressive, after all, he was only a couple feet from the hoop for all his points and he didn't have to worry about 3 in the key, and the D he was playing against
@imsljr420 was just as poor as the one Kobe played against. Besides, Wilt was the tallest guy out there by far, so if you want to make the case that Kobe's 81 points wasn't that great, how was Wilt's 100 that great then? I just think you are wrong on MVP, that is all. Kobe was a better player skills wise. I don't see how that is debatable.
@RyZombie619 : ok no doubt this will upset you because kobe fans always seem to think only kobe can do the things he does. defensive skills obviously kobe was better but offensives skills ball handling/dribbling & footwork nash was just as good if not slightly better than kobe..his play making was better than kobe's...nash was scoring on big guys with his footwork getting them out of position....& go back and re-read my comment on kobe's 81 pt game.

lol u tried to quote me syaing "oh the Heat didn't have a great team" i didnt even say that lmao ...
i said if u compare LBJ teammates vs kobes teammates whoes had the better help? not one team in 30/40 years have won a championship with ONE superstar (excluding 2004 pistons that was a total team effort) hence why he left Cavs for miami...

I would think that his nearly 10 years in the league now should prove that.

im talking about kobe btw

when you need a game winning shot who do you go to? that settles it

last 5 years = Lebron
Overall = Kobe
Kobe is generally more skilled, but he could be so much better if he came off screens and such but yeah..
Lebron's athleticism is crazy but that will only last for so long, its good to see him develop a post game to future proof himself
Rings should never be part of a player vs player comparison... thats a team achievement
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 no way, Kobe was better than James in those 5 years, because LeBron's athleticism is all he has, so what? That means nothing. I don't care how high he can jump or if he can make a wide open dunk, can he hit a 3 consistently? No. Can he make clutch FT's? No. Can he do anything clutch at all? No. Can he make Kobe like shots? No. Can he defend well? No, want an example? 2011 NBA Finals, he was guarding Terry, that went well huh? James has no finesse and needs the refs to shoot FT's
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 Dude how can u say that... Kobe is so inaefficent... most players cant hit 3s consitently .. and Lebron eliminated 3s from his game this season.... Lebron is tonnes more effiecient then kobe... Clutch? kobe hasnt hit anything clutch in 2 seasons so he hasnt done much either? lol of course lebron can defend well.. his defence is top notch... if he commits to jason terry that opens up for dirk doesnt it? lol mavs shot 42% in 3 games due to LBJ defence
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 his only weakness is his mentality down the stretch and his mouth getting the best of him... and damn needs ref to shoot FTs?? Kobe always looking at the refs for calls, and he's known to flop now and then...
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 no, when it comes to winning, that is all that matters, and Kobe Bryant is more efficient than LeBrick James at that, I am sorry, but that is a fact. I don't need to point out to you how many chances LeBron has had to win it all and yet what does he do? He fails. I could understand if his team was doing terrible and he was doing great and still failed, not much you can do there, but when he is playing worse than his teammates are...that is pathetic.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 how many chances? he's only had 2 real chances to win it all... and a one man team against the a full team defensive spurs is a feat only the pistons and heat could over come lol... his team was terrible.. his only stars were antwan jamison? 37year old shaq?(cavs).... ill admit he wasnt too great 2011 finals...
Kobe is 36/118 when it comes to hitting the game winning shot lol he hasnt hit anything since early 2010 lmao he missed a fairly open shot against dalllas in the playoffs.
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 he has had many chances, he has only been to the finals twice, but what his fiasco in the playoffs? His team was terrible? That team that was the favorite to win it all? The team with the best record in the NBA? That was a terrible team?? Wow, well next time I see a team that has the best record and is the favorite to win, I will remember, they are a terrible team. lmao!! Pathetic excuse. The Heat were a stacked team, no excuse there. You have no argument, NONE! ZIP! ZERO!
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 regular season record doesnt mean ur the best team, cavs and heat play in the east, the east in the past decade has little competition past magic/celtics/heat and cavs and now bulls.. shit spurs had the best record most of the year last year and got eliminated round 1... bulls had the best record and got beat by 2nd seed heat lol cavs team was lebron sharing the ball cuz mike brown is average as coach.. heat had no one exciting coming off the bench lol
lol so much hate for LBJ
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 No regular season record doesn't mean you are the best team but it certainly doesn't mean you are a TERRIBLE team like you claimed they were. Terrible teams don't get those kinds of records. Oh so now you are blaming LeBron's Heat teammates for why they lost the NBA finals? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?????!!! Ummm, the Heat team James is playing for right now is one of the most stacked teams in NBA history, you are a fucking moron. You aren't even worth talking to.
RyZombie619 1 month ago

RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 just remember one thing.. they're a stacked team on paper... the big 3 have never really performed big together (i can only think of there 30 point blow out against spurs they had 90 point all together)... lebron dominated in the ECF and dwade did absolutely crap.. but that was reversed in the finals... LBJ clutchness was never in question until 2010 ECSF against celtics... he was generally good in 4th quarter up to that point... 25point 4qurt performance against pistons 2007 ecf??
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 until he can learn to quit hiding during the big games you can't call him the best player, I am sorry, but that is just a fact.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 and yeah MJ said that but kobe is 2-3 years from the end of his career... LBJ is still young at 27 and still has tonnes of time to prove himself lol...
Jordan didnt win won until he was 29( we can blame the bad boy pistons/celtics for that) lol.. i said LBJ is been better the past 5 years... that didnt mean he was better overall... kobe may retire with the better legacy... but LBJ is the complete package
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 how is LBJ the complete package? honestly, how? if he can't play in clutch situations, if he can't make FT's, if he can't be a team leader, if he has no finesse, I think a few things are missing don't you?
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 oh and btw, hate to break it to you, but the true king has spoken, MJ just said Kobe is the only player that can be compared to him, enough said. it came from the man himself. case closed
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 It is 100% LeBron's own fault that he shot 20 and 30 some percent in those finals games. I am not going to look up the stats again for an incompetent fool like yourself who is still sucking LeBron's cock. It's amazing how soon people forget. You are a fucking idiot, I'm sorry. You think LeBron is better when he is on fire? Sorry, it doesn't matter if you are on fire or not, what matters is if you can consitently do it, which he can't. Vince Carter is one of the best players
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 when HE IS ON FIRE, but who gives a shit? He can't do that all the time, so guess what, he isn;t even close to being one of the best, same with James. If he can't play like that all the time and in the most important games, he is not the best, that is just a simple fact that everyone should agree with, but unfortunately people think that what he does in the regular season shows how talented he is. Don't make anymore excuses for this guy ok? You just look like an idiot
RyZombie619 1 month ago

RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 Kobe has always had good players around him(except 2006-2008) glen rice, shaq, robert horry, old karl malone & gary peyton, pau gasol, derrick fisher, matt barnes, trevor ariza, ron artest, nick van exel, andrew bynum, lamar odom.. alll while having phil jackson as his coach... PHIL JACKSON!
now compare that to the cavs/ heat teams LBJ has played with so far... i aint praising him or sucking him off im just saying right now 2012 he's the better player overall calm down lol
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 He is not clutch in any way, and how can you say Kobe isn't clutch? He has been clutch his whole life you douche bag. Your comment on if he commits to Terry it leaves Dirk open is a classic LeBron cock sucking excuse, Bosh couldn't handle Dirk?? Give me a break, he didn't even attempt to guard Terry you moron. LeBron needs to the help of the refs because his whole game plan is to drive and get a foul, and a lot of times those calls are going for LeBron.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 Kobe may look for fouls, but if he doesn't get the call he may talk to the ref and that's it, what does James do? He puts his hands up and runs to the ref like he is going to cry, he is a baby. And I'll take the more complete player, Kobe, the player that can win, the player that can shoot, the player that doesn't break down in big games. You have no case. You are just one of those idiots who will forever think James is a godsend even though he fails time after time.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 kobe can win in big games? everytime he gets eliminated from the playoffs its a blowout lmao what exactly are these big games? cause he got owned last playoffs lol all im saying is right now lebron is better then kobe..
and in fact kobe is the most overrated player just for the fact that people even say he's the greatest all time WTF!? over michael jordan, larry bird and magic johnson YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME lol
u writing 4 apragraphs shows ur desperation...
funakiexpressV2 1 month ago
@funakiexpressV2 And the fact you can't even spell tons right shows me I am dealing with someone with a basketball IQ of about -5. James is the MOST OVERRATED player in NBA history, only idiots don't realize that. NBA finals proved it, the playoffs have proved it, there isn't much more that is needed to prove that point.

PS LeBron is better now
I'm a realist and Kobe is too injured and has too much mileage and is past his prime
Kobe is still one of the best which is an amazing feet for any 15 season player in which 14 of those were playoff bound and about 6-7 were all the way in the finals
people get old and kobe was my favourite and still is
but again young kobe>young lebron
kobes style would do better in the 90s than lebrons style
but MJ IS THE GOAT!!!

@IcantThinkOfAname9 lolz yup exactly
but i dont think the bad boy pistons would need to be "bad" with lebron
theyre defensive scheme is so good when lebron drives theyd bump him off the lane and even if somehow he got a counter move itd be mechanical and the pistons would be able to stop him without hitting him
i mean the only reason why MJ got through a few times was because he had like 5 counter moves haha

who is better? Kareem or Mbenga? Same question basically

Hes not overrated.
kristiann1able 2 months ago

501stEliteClone 3 months ago
@TheRaptorRapture only reason why lebron passes off the last shot is because he is scared to make the team lose. I know your saying kobe is a ballhog because he always takes the last shot but so what at least he has the balls to take it unlike LEBRICK SHAME
501stEliteClone 3 months ago
@501stEliteClone yeah but difference is kobe gets no heat if he misses the last shot and hes not that good in the clutch, melo is the best current player in the clutch and lebron has hit some big shots in his cleveland days and he did own the bulls and celtics in the playoffs with dagger ass shots, kobe is a selfish ballhog who doesn't trust his teammates lebron isnt.
TheRaptorRapture 3 months ago
@TheRaptorRapture FIRST KOBE DOES TRUST SOME OF HIS TEAMMATES LIKE DEREK FISHER WHO ALWAYS HITS BIG THREES. Sure no doubt melo is clutch but its the big shots that kobe makes. Only reason why kobe doesnt get any heat is because he makes so many of those it doesnt really matter if he misses them once in a while. First of all this is a sport um yeah the point of it is winning so what if he is selfish during clutch situations he is the leader and he will lead them to victory.
501stEliteClone 3 months ago
@501stEliteClone Even Smush Parker publicly criticized kobe with his tenure with the lakers said it starts with kobe and ends wit kobe, how is that being a good teammate every teammate lebron has had said that he improves his teammates level of play and makes others around him better, kobe is overrated in all aspects of the game just a high volume shooter who cries to much.
TheRaptorRapture 3 months ago
@TheRaptorRapture smush didnt do crap for the lakers. He is just mad that kobe was the leader not him. You know what i think ur just mad cuz he popped an 81 on u guys... Ur sucha hater u had nothing else to say but kobe this kobe that u had no knockout arguement you just repeated the same things over and over. Enough with this talk when the season starts which is on christmas.
501stEliteClone 3 months ago 6
@501stEliteClone he got the 81 from not passing it once to a single teammate ROFL just proved my point that hes the biggest ball hog in NBA history hes not the only 1 who exposed kobe so I have a point and you can't deny it man just face it KOBE IS DONE!
TheRaptorRapture 3 months ago
@501stEliteClone and also lebron has owned kobe in head to head match ups so that just proves who's the better player.
TheRaptorRapture 3 months ago

501stEliteClone 3 months ago
Yeah Jerry West(and anyone else who said that)definitely is buggin. Lebron has more skills than Kobe?? Are you serious??? From footwork,to jumpshot,to using the off hand,to basketball IQ,to free throw shooting,to playing in the clutch...I mean the list can go on and on. Lebron is more PHYSICALLY imposing, but thats about it. I think if you asked ANY NBA player whose GAME they would have if they could,I think it would be damn near unanimous.

Slam Dunk Champ 1997
Lebron, you have a long long long long long long, way to go!
alexcrixus 3 months ago
@alexcrixus the slam dunk title and all star game mvp have nothing to do with kobe's resume. those are useless titles that dont take much effort to get.
pkil232 3 months ago
@pkil232 Well, then Lebron even doesn't have those useless titles...so dont even mention championship rings ...
Lebron even backed off from participating the slam dunk contest...... so you already got your answer . Lebron does not even want to take that little effort to win a slam dunk or all stars game, so don't mention the NBA finals . That is why He does not win at this point ! Kobe is the mamba king bad ass !
alexcrixus 3 months ago
@alexcrixus participating in the all star game has ZERO impact on your career achievements. nobody gets into the HOF because of their all star game play. it wont hurt lebron that he didnt win those titles, and it wont help that kobe won those titles. no one cares.
pkil232 3 months ago
@alexcrixus because u dumb ass doesn't care does not erase Kobe's accomplishment. Kobe's accomplishment above everything Lebron can offer! Period ! !!

What? How can these guys agree that Lebron has better SKILLS than Kobe? You can say Lebron can be more dominant and he's stronger and more of a beast, but he does not have more skills than Kobe at all.
wilsonsmanz 4 months ago
@wilsonsmanz Yeah he's more athletic but skill wise, Lebron lacks lots of basketball fundamentals knowledge and his footwork is horrible, and his ball handling skills are outmatched by too many other players.

kobe in his prime was better than any player ive ever seen. he broke many records and proved he is the best closer in the game. if u want to compare two players you have to compare them on what they did and right now lebron hasnt shown us anything extraordinary like kobe has. u might say hes a ballhog but hes just stepping his game up when his team needs him and thats called being a team leader. yes i am a kobe fan but i also respect what any player does cuz i dont love kobe, i love basketball.

@IOYB Well see. Only reason miami is better then new york is because of there D. other then that knicks have them.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 actually, mvp's are who is the best player in the league THAT YEAR and NOT the most popular. if it was the most popular, kobe would get it every year. i didnt know that the leader of a team was rewarded extra than anybody else on a championship team. last time i checked they all got rings and bonuses if it was in their contract
picturedude1st 1 month ago
@picturedude1st I mean most popular within in the NBA, not most popular in the world. The MVP is awarded to Stern's poster boy of the NBA, there is no reason why Nash should have gotten it twice back to back. Rings mean more than the MVP ever will.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 thats because the poster boy IS the best player in the nba. and, based on what you're saying, is that brian scalibrine has had a better career than lebron, because he has a ring
picturedude1st 1 month ago
@picturedude1st ummm, no I am not. Don't be the typical tool and use the "oh Robert Horry has 5 rings" excuse, we all know that Robert Horry could not lead a team to save his life, same with Scalabrine. When comparing great players, rings make it, ok? That is just a fact, who the bench warmer for the team was, no one cares about, he could have 10 rings, so what? Is he comparable to LeBron or Kobe? No so don't even use that excuse. When comparing STAR players, key word there, rings are the diff.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@picturedude1st If LeBron is credited for all the wins, he should be credited with all the failures too because he contributes HEAVILY to those failures. Now, the MVP is not always the best player. You still danced around my question of whether or not Nash was the best player, he WAS NOT. Kobe was scoring 40 a night and put up 81 points when MR. "Wow I get 10 assists a game" Nash was getting the back to back MVP's, that is pathetic, and coincidentally, it all happened after the Colorado incident
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@picturedude1st Stern is all about marketing his players. It's a business, LeBron was hyped from the beginning as the "Chosen One" or the Next Jordan, called himself The "King", well Stern found someone who could sell jerseys. Why do you think ESPN and NBA.com always talk about James and how great he is, when he does jack shit? Why does ESPN show him in the top 10 continually when all he does is make a wide open two handed, elementary dunk? Because, THEY LOVE HIM, it's not rocket science.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 wow you must really think your accomplishing something by replying to my comment with three more comments that are like a paragraph each. im not going to argue with you. if you say that lebron isn't good then you seriously need some mental help. i'll try to google some doctors for you. i'll message you once i find one who can deal with your extreme case of stupidity. it might take a while, so don't expect me to find one right away, but just know that i will be looking.
picturedude1st 1 month ago
@picturedude1st that is your comeback? lol. Do you want to answer my question of who was a better player the two years Nash got MVP, Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant? I never said James isn't good, said he wasn't the best. And I am pretty sure that anyone who witnessed what James did in last years finals, the playoffs the two years before that, and still claim him to be the best really needs THEIR HEAD EXAMINED. So..maybe instead of looking for me, look for yourself, you can be helped.
RyZombie619 1 month ago
@RyZombie619 : the 2 years nash won MVP YES nash was definitely better than kobe...07 when dirk won it nash was still better than dirk & kobe & should've 3peat that award.
imsljr420 1 week ago
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 and that team, which was god awful, took Nash's Suns to 7 games, basically because of Kobe alone. The only way you can think Nash was better than Kobe Bryant , WHEN KOBE BRYANT WAS IN HIS PRIME, is you are either A: high B: stupid C: a Kobe hater D: uninformed as to what the stats were or E: a huge Steve Nash fan.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : nash is definitely not better than kobe but those 3 years he was..yeah he had help but we saw what happened when he got injured they struggled 2 score & win games. he came back & they were once again the #1 offense...when lakers took suns 2 game 7 suns were missing amare other wise it would've been a sweep or 5 games plus amare only payed 3 games that season & nash still took them to 54 wins..so just bcuz MJ didn't win it 3X that means no else should? ehem LARRY BIRD
imsljr420 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 :"D: uninformed as to what the stats were"...but im going to guess when stats favor someone else not named kobe you say "stats don't mean anything"
it evens out kobe had odom nash had marion(amare was injured) so even if u think marion > odom (which 2 me it's a tie) u still have kobe> nash so y couldn't lakers win?..sorry 2 inform u but the league is not going 2 change their rules 4 u kobe fans just bcuz u guys WANTED kobe to win doesn't mean he deserved it.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 ok first off, KOBE WAS BETTER, that is just a fact. Did Nash have an 81 point game? No, he didn't, sorry, that just closes the book as far as I am concerned, that 81 point game plus the amounts of points he was averaging make him better than Nash. "so just bcuz MJ didn't win it 3X that means no else should? ehem LARRY BIRD" Point? Larry Bird is a high caliber player like Jordan, Nash is not on that same level, sorry. I don't say stats don't mean anything, but what stats favored Nash?
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : well the media sure didn't think it was a fact that kobe was better that's why they voted 4 nash...r u telling me that scott skills was better than magic? WTF?...what stats favor nash? um how about assist, field goal % free throw % 3pt % EFFICIENCY, win shares...not a stat but the fact that he made players around him better.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 assists? the most overrated stat in the NBA? lol, sorry, I don't care if Nash had 20 assists a game, fact of the matter is Kobe was better. The goal of basketball is to score, players who are considered the best (like Jordan) were ones that scored the most points, ahem, Kobe. Nash was not better, sorry. Again, the absurdity of your comment to think both teams were comparable is hilarious. You are comparing a veteran all star in Marion to a unsure, non all star in Odom, not a fairmatch
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : so iverson is consider better than magic?...NOBODY would agree with that. iverson is a scorer magic is a play maker so is stockton, kidd, thomas & they're considered some of the best ever...i thought the goal of basketball was to win....so if marion who entered in 99 is a veteran then what is odom who also entered in 99? ok so according 2 u marion > odom but u still got kobe > nash so that evens out so why couldn't kobe win especially since he was up 3-1.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 Why couldn't Kobe's team win? How would Nash have enjoyed a team with Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Luke Walton as the starters? Players that would be benchwarmers for Nash's Suns...yeah, he couldn't even make it to the playoffs with that team. Kobe didn't deserve it???? Are you f'ing kidding me?? Maybe you didn't notice but he had an 81 point game and was averaging 27 ppg and 35 ppg, that is pretty deserving to me.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 HOW CAN YOU say, that Kobe did not deserve the MVP when he was playing his best basketball?? How can you honestly say that? That is fucking moronic dude, sorry, it just is. Nash was good, but Kobe was better and he showed that. Nash with a team of Kobe's wouldn't have made it to the playoffs in the first place. Not to mention the small fact Nash could never score the amount of points Kobe was scoring.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : you know why i can say kobe didn't deserve the MVP?..because i don't suck players dicks & worship them, i go by reality. michael jordan is my favorite player, in 93 barkley won MVP over him, i didn't care bcuz i felt barkley deserved it more over him since his team had the better record.( but im glad we won the championship)
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 I see what you are saying, Nash deserved one of those MVP's, I just don't think he deserved both, I really honestly think Kobe deserved the 05-06 one because he took a terrible team much further than anyone in the league at the time could have, averaged 35.4 ppg and had that historic 81 point game, that is MVP worthy to me. I know the media did not think so, but ESPN pretty much agrees with anything STern does and Kobe's whole Colorado incident really made him unpopular.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 I bet if Kobe did not have that Colorado situation hanging over him, he would have won one of those MVP's. Those were the years Kobe was playing some of his best basketball, now come on, how can you deny one of the best players in NBA history, at his prime, an NBA MVP award? That is idiotic. And no, Iverson is not better than Magic, why? Because Magic could: A: pass better than anyone, B: play defense, C: play any position on the court and D: could score as much as anyone else.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 Kobe vs Nash: Kobe is better on offense and on defense, Nash is not a good defender and he is not someone who can score at will. Nash is a much better passer and floor leader, and he is faster, but he is not a better scorer and defender. So I have to say Kobe is better and was better at least one of those years Nash got MVP.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 And I would be saying this about anyone who had the skills Kobe has, not only because I am a Lakers fan. If Nash scored 35 ppg, hand an 81 point game and took an awful team to the playoffs, I would totally feel he deserved the MVP. I am looking at REALITY here, ok? I am looking at how good of a player Kobe was, the kind of shots he made, his skill, the 81 point game that CAN NOT BE IGNORED, the talent of his team, how far he took them, all those come into play.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@imsljr420 To ignore that is to ignore reality and fact.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : if he would've won at least 50 with those scrubs then yeah i would say he deserved MVP.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 what difference does it make how many games they win, that doesn't matter at all, MVP=Most Valuable Player, not Most Valuable Team, or Most Valuable Teammate. The whole point of the MVP is to award the player that has the most individual talent, sorry, that goes to Kobe Bryant for that 05-06 season.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : no MVP goes to the best player on the best team...last season i felt lebron should've won it but since Bulls had the best record they gave it to rose & i guess also since lebron was with wade that probably disqualified him.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 oh please, that is pathetic. Then it should be called MVT because clearly the individuals talent means nothing for that award.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : no what's pathetic is you want the league to change their voting just for your love of kobe.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 no, what is pathetic is your inability to realize that Kobe Bryant, the year Steve Nash won MVP in 05-06, had the second highest scoring game in NBA HISTORY, averaged over 30 ppg and took a terrible team 7 games with the Suns who were one of the best teams in the league.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : one great game does not deserve an MVP. why didn't scott skills win MVP the yr he had that 30 assist game?...do you understand basketball? he average over 30 bcuz he was their main scoring option he had a bunch of scrubs so he put up a lot of shots but all that scoring couldn't get them 50 wins maybe he should've let odom score more.
yeah the suns who weren't 100%
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 ONE GREAT GAME????? Pretty sure that when you average over 30ppg, you have more than ONE great game. And I can just tell right now from your nonchalant attitude towards that game that you can't stand Kobe, because no one in their right mind would say that was just a regular great game. If Jordan did it, you'd be jumping up and down and acting like it was the greatest thing ever, but since Kobe did it, you are very "who cares" about it, lol, that is pathetic.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : yes he also had that 62 in 3qts vs dallas that was amazing as well...how is my attitide "nonchalant"?...did you want me to type "OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING!!!"...come on dude...a lot of people discredit kobe for his 81 pt game saying it was against the 2nd ranked worst defense (which it was) but to me i give him credit because they're still a professional team...the 62 in 3 qts dallas was ranked 7th on defense so that's even more impressive.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 First off, it's not Scott SKILLS, it is Scott Skiles and why didn't he win MVP? Because WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT ASSISTS???? You don't award the MVP to someone because they got a ton of assists otherwise Rajon Rondo would get it every year. Why is it that the players who are always in the MVP discussion are the leading scorers in the NBA? Hmmmmm, I wonder, maybe because POINTS are the most important STAT. Question is, do you understand basketball? Clearly not.

imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 Let Odom score more? Are you kidding? If you think Lamar Odom is some sort of great basketball player you are either A: delusional or B: haven't ever seen him play. Probably one of the most streaky players I've seen. Odom was not a great player, he had his nights but you can't rely on that. The Suns who weren't 100% still better than the Lakers at 100%, I'd take Grant Hill, or Shawn Marion, or Barbosa, or Raja Bell any day over Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Luke Walton.
RyZombie619 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : so you think odom is a bum?...go tell that to kobe who was pissed that they lost him...he didn't get upset when they lost kwame or parker cuz they were bums but why was he upset when they lost odom?..bcuz he helped them during their championship runs...100 % guarantee if odom played with jordan or lebron ppl like u would say "oh they got to play with great players like odom"....but when players team with kobe some how they're bums according to the kobetards.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@RyZombie619 : they years nash was winning MVP hill wasn't on the roster....yes i would take marion, barbosa & bell over kwame, smush & luke as well but would you take raja bell & barbosa over odom?...i wouldn't .
& i did say why nash deserved MVP..because he was efficient & made player around him better. when he was out they struggled to score & win...even when his team wasn't 100% he still made them look good.
imsljr420 1 week ago
@imsljr420 I never said Odom was a bum, I just said he was not as good as you are making him out to be. I was mad we lost him too, but I still think Nash had a much better team. Nash WAS the face of the NBA, just like any organization, the NBA is political. Kobe was not liked back then for many reasons A: the Colorado situation, B: the whole meltdown with Shaq, C: how he was asking for a trade D: he was being somewhat of a selfish player, so Kobe had a lot of negativity thrown his way
RyZombie619 6 days ago
