Hi, Original Video was in 16:9 ratio. In compression view was lost. Video quality is also much less than the original. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll do it again. Thanks for the response.
Thanks for the explanation. What you lost in picture quality, you made up for in sound. You caught the sound of those RR Merlins beautifully. I can never hear them without being overcome by emotion. My wife thinks there's something wrong with me! But she's a Yank & I am English. They'll never understand.
I am British, but female, and I know what you mean Gruntol! Fabulous sound! Saw our Lanc at Farnborough this year, and got quite choked up as she roared overhead. Fantastic!
Lucky you! I haven't heard a Merlin engine for a few years & am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. A few years ago, whilst staying with friends in England, the only flying Lockheed Constellation flew over low. I rushed to the window - magnificent sight, but couldn't help noticing the gardener look up for an instant, only to resume digging, as though it was "just another of those damned Constellations." So, even some men are disinterested. TTFN
next time you are back in England, make sure it coincides with an Airshow!! :-D Have a look on the BBMF website, and they tell you what airshows the Lanc, Spit and Hurricane are flying over!Next one i am off to is Shoreham at the end of August.
great video! and as for raymondgreat, ok the new planes are faster but i think you should have just a little more respect for the older planes especially the lanc.
It's not from my generation either, Ray. I am only in my early 40's and know nothing about what it was like to see dozens of these aircraft going over my house, but these old planes, for most Brits, depicts a time in History that is steeped in pride and respect for the men who flew these machines. But I am pleased you can appreciate the beauty of the sound of four Merlin engines. :-)
Well, the aircraft maby boring, but i never said that i dont respect the soldiers. I dont really understand what you are exactly saying. because the soldiers has nothing to deal with the aircraft, if im saying its ugly. And in the WoII it would be okey if i sad that they are ugly. Well we can start a big conversation here :-) I LIKE IT!!!!1
I know you didn't say you didn't repect the airmen, Ray.... the whole thing is parcelled together with the planes... the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lanc, they all represent a time in our past. They are not just planes. You are right, the Lanc is not sleek and beautiful like the Spitfire...when I see one fly I can hardly understand how they got off the ground with all the weight of the bombs under them. But they were the best we had at that time. I think we are starting a big conversation! :-D
Well, i understand that it was awesome in that time. but i can now say ''in this time'' that it is old. Because if i say that i have a CD-player. U would probably say; well thats pretty old i have an Ipod:P.
1:35 was officially the best part!

The aspect ratio of this film is all wrong, making the Lancaster look short by about 30%! What the hell happened?

Fair point i guess, but no point in trashing something a lot of people feel passionately about.

indeed, but that ''thing'' is not from my generation. The sound is beautiful but the cockpit is so old, and its so fragile.
