This is the absolute worst performance of this song I have ever heard. Not only is it not in tune, but the French isn't even close to correct. This makes me so sad!!
Since we practice our songs with song books we have a pronunciation guide on the side. It really helped. We're also singing it a lot slower. But I still think they did well, very beautiful.
Its a singing group at the high school my grand daughter attends. It is in St. Helens Oregon and there are not too many here who speak French. It is too bad that they could not have found some one to help with the language.
No problem. Yes, I do understand. We actually have the French teacher helping us with the pronunciation :P It is too bad because they would have awe-inspiring had they have the proper French.
@Nonie46 Because that's how the song is written. It's common for French language songs to call for pronunciation of the "e" sound at the end of words. For example if you go look up YT vids of the French national anthem you'll notice the same thing. :) (However these kids' French pronunciation is not quite right, but for non-French speaking teenagers I think we can give them a bit of a pass on that one :-P)
Yeah, we had some kid who was in French 1 come in to tell us how to pronounce stuff. It was pretty bad. Noone in the chior actually liked this song because we were already singing three other songs in Latin, so a french one just made it more difficult.
we just sang this song for Alabama State Competition. your choir did really well, just work more on the pronunciation. the 'e' in french isnt usually pronouned but since there is need for a vowel it is pronounced 'uh' and final 's' and 't' are silent. great job though!
il faut avoir un francophone pour vous ensigner. desolé =/
