  • 15 people didnt get an Iron Cross from the Kaiser

  • We r watching this in world history!

  • @homework20 A fine choice of movie to watch then.

  • BIG ERROR - Kaiser's speech refers to corps silent p pronounced as corpse! Prodcution saboteur or editorial slip up at work? Sign of our illiterate times? English language production trying mistakenly to GERMANIZE toughen up the Englanders! Gott straffe der PRODUCER!

  • I liked how the actor who played the Kaiser held his sword with his left hand to hide his deformity in that arm. It was very mindful of the history of that time.

  • Jews and mosquitoes," wrote Kaiser Wilhelm II, "are a nuisance that humanity must get rid of in some way or another. I believe the best would be gas."

  • I know the first song played is called "Preussischer Präsentiermarsch" (though it's being played as though it's a horse-race....) Question: What is the next song being played, while the Kaiser is reviewing the soldiers and awarding the Iron Cross?

  • @pmkraa

The second song is the "Marsch aus der Zeit Friedrich des Grossen".

  • Prussians speaking English, wooow

  • wha's the name of the march?

  • @040392agh Its the "Preussischer Präsentiermarsch" since 1850 in use, but the version in the film is played in a ridicules way. Same like the speaking of the Kaiser in english with a also ridicules pseudo German accent. The try to let him look like Charly Chaplin..

  • The only thing more perennial than war is people's arguing over it.

  • 1919 was not in WW I so that doesnt count, on 19 september 1918 they were after a succesfull greece brittish campain against the Austo-Hongarians beaten at the battle of Doirain. unfortunately i've got his from a book so i cant send you a link but theres plenty of information on the internet about the battle. the greeks may have done some impressive thing with minimal supplies during the war but they were nothing compared to the big guys ( Germany, England, Franse ot the USa

  • You Italian cowards did nothing.

  • @bdv1945 I'm not Itallian you bum! bytheway the Italians were involved in WW I so they kept the Austrian Hongarians bussy

  • @milan190291 after they betrayed them and switched sides... something they did in the second ww too

  • @040392agh yes they did, I know. im not trying to say Italians are great warriors or allies. just one thing you have too keep in mind is that Italia in the interbellum realy was screwed over by other european forces

  • Coward!

  • greek royal army the best of WW1 END OF STORY!

  • @sailorkostas your joking right?

  • @milan190291 the greek army have great expiriance in the balkan wars of 1012-13[greece win], we enter in WW1 with great expiriance and we push back the german-bulgarian forces in balkan front in the last 2 years of war.but you now nothing of greek military history, you now only the spartans hahaha.

  • @sailorkostas i mean 1912-13 not 1012 sory.

  • @sailorkostas yes they defeated the German-Bulgarian forces with the hel and under command of french general Franchet d'Esperey, so they didnt do it on there own but were a small part of the millitary force. when they invadet Bulgary they were massacred by there forces. so please becouse your from greece does not mean that everyone from there is a good soldier. I must say the greeks performed batter in WO II when they pushed back the Itailiens with inferior forces. bythoway I study history

  • @milan190291 greeks they were a significant part of the force [100 000 + soldiers with reserves],and bulgarians never massacred greeks!!! were they found that?

  • @milan190291 and you forgot tha greece organized an entire war by there own in minor asia in 1919 and we go to ankara turkey! and also greek army have victories in russia civil war [western intervention 1918].

  • @RISEagainst6543 And yet, they still lost. How very sad.

  • ORIGINAL BARBAROIDS

  • If Imperial Germany had stayed intact, Hitler would have been shot as a traitor...

  • @PolishedMonocle

    How so?

He was supportive of Imperial Germany.

  • @MrReco12 no he wasn't, he blamed the Kaiser and the nobility of Germany for losing the war and accepting Jews in the army.

  • @snowwolf7777

He only withdrew his support when they lost the war.

  • @snowwolf7777 But the Nazis had 150,000+ Jews fight in there army and many Generals were Jews too. Some of the 1st men in the SS were Jews and the SS trained the Jews terror gang - the stern gang. The one that founded Israel. Hitlers mother doctor was a Jew. Now what?

  • @GlenRoSSe69 I never said Hitler didn't have Jews in his army. One of his top generals was a jew, but Hitler sit blamed the kaiser for having Jews in the Army. Hitler was a hypocrite, what a shock. Now please, be quite and enjoy the All quite on the western front.

  • @PolishedMonocle

I would also still be in Germany as my great grandfather served the kaiser with all his might and earned the Iron Cross 1st class for bravery, as well as the 1st and 2nd class wound badges for being wounded multiple times.

My family had to flee because of the Nazis since my family is Jewish, yet my great grandfather loved Germany with all his might and soul.

  • @PolishedMonocle Lol how? Hitler loved Imperial Germany and had respect for the kaiser; he would not have joined the Nazi Party have Imperial Germany won the war.

  • @MrWhyispiegood not really, because he held the kaiser responsible for losing germany the war. and the kaiser distrusted hitler

  • @liverpoolmatt87 Still wrong. Hitler did not hold Kaiser Wilhelm the II has responsible he held the Jews. One of the reasons he rose to power was because of his skill of speaking and his blaming of the Jews.

  • @MrWhyispiegood um yes he did mate, and there is evidence that say he did, so it wasn't all on the jews that he blamed on for germany's defeat in the great war it was also the kaiser because it was he that signed the declaration of war in 1914 and once more he approved the rearmament for the german army and expanded the size seeing he was head of the german army.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrWhyispiegood I'm sorry but you're wrong. It is fairly common knowledge that Adolf Hitler had a strikingly low opinion of Kaiser Wilhelm. Not of Imperial Germany as a whole, but the Kaiser, yes.

  • @MrWhyispiegood Because Hitler wanted to dissolve the German Constitution, which is exactly what he did. Throw in the fact Hitler was a "wannabe" German, he wasn't even Prussian which might have garnered him some respect, instead he was an Austrian. If you know the history, you know most German states despised the Austrians and considered them outcasts. Hitler came to power largely out of circumstance, Germany was in such bad shape they would take anyone to help them.

  • @MrWhyispiegood That is what that poster is saying. Hitler was NOT royalty, he had no business ever getting as close to the Kaiser as he did. If the Allies would have calmed down and listened to reason they would have kept the Imperial government in place. By doing that ANY other faction looking to cease power (like Uncle Adolf) would have been imprisoned or sentenced to death for committing treason by overthrowing the governments power.

    The Allies created WW2.

  • @PolishedMonocle This is true, even if he wanted to remold Germany into how it was during the Imperial era. To commit such atrocities in the name of the Fatherland would've earned him a bullet to the skull. He did things even Kaiser Wilhelm would've thought as repulsive.

  • @PolishedMonocle Perhaps. Hitler and several other high ranking Nazis considered bringing the monarchy back to Germany. The Kaiser was living only a short distance away in Holland from the end of WWI to his death in 1940.

  • @RISEagainst6543

the British Army was the most professional at the time

  • a great army then who defeated Russia and allmost got the Commonwealth, France and America on her knees. I like my neighbours and respect them! greetings from the Netherlands! Es lebe hoch unserem Kaiser!

  • Must - resist - urge - to - strangle - Wilhelm!

  • The Kaiser accompanied by lancers, nice. All those great German regiments were finished after ww1,all the uhlans, lancers, regiments that were around in the days of Frederick the Great.

  • all the youth and innocence sacrificed for the vanity of one man.

  • how about insted of getting mad at america we waych this video say how cool

    it is.

  • kk enough with the patriotism idiots. I get enough of this crap from the small town brainwashed american flag worshippers already. Sure democracy is great but then again the definition of democracy is a bunch of brain dead idiots voting in people into power who screw over the idiots and then the manipulative politicians then blame it on the communists.

Every political system has its flaws. yippie skippie. Plus the helmets are awesome. Lord Vader would be pleased.

  • I hate to break it to the hard core American idiots who think that we can just invade Germany. I have read some comments from the annoying trolls but let me make this perfectly clear

    1. We got our asses handed to us in Iraq

    2. Germany is almost a super power. I will give it 50 years before they complete own us. Their education is better, industry, etc.

Besides they are our allies so please stop trolling, k?

btw I am an American but not all Americans are stupid.

  • kk this is a hollywood movie people. He speaks English for convince of Americans. I doubt that the Germans were very receptive of the English epically sincewhat happened after the treaty. He would obviously be speaking German.

  • Their helmets r awesome. Plus parade is awesome. Just add some freaking clowns and some Roman Leigons and you will keep the chancellor busy for quite some time.

  • So fake

Though as a grandson of Queen Victoria, the Kaiser indeed spoke English with native fluency, it is highly unlikely that he would address his troops in the language of the very country that was fighting against Germany. Besides, not many German soldiers were as well versed in English as their emperor. I wonder how many of them actually understood what he said.

  • @canadaempireloyalist friend, this is a movie . Made for English speaking audiences.

  • Holy shit. If Lincoln had spoken like this after Gettysburg, then I do wish I was in the land of cotton!

  • i think, the germany army's battle helmet should have a spike on top of the helmet, isn't it? it is by the true historic documentation that i've watch it before, it's a collections from some of the museum's archive!

  • @MRa11480 they did have spiked helmets during the first two years of the war, however during the other half they changed it to this type of helmet that stayed even during ww2

  • I want a ww2 version perhaps "All quiet on the Eastern front?"

  • how funny that while germany was at war with britain, the emperor chose to address his troop in English instead of german

will they make a movie in which roosevelt speak to US marines in japanese?

  • the german helmet, what a symbol!

  • I kept expecting Airwolf to pop over the hill top!

    LMAO

  • After Germany defeated Austria then Napoleon III France, Germany became the land powet of Europe if not the world. America didn't become a major player at all until the 1890's even then no one respected them. America did nothing in both world wars yet they take all the credit.

  • @vidman163 American Forces broke the Bloody Stalemate on the Western Front in the First World War and completely decimated all western defenses, liberated France and shattered infrastructure in the Second World War. I am against senseless nationalism but I will not stand for innacurate historical tellings. Before you get on your high horse about your flag and countrymen, I strongly suggest you thoroughly research the subject before spreading nationalistic lies.

  • @allwittynamestaken The U.S. didn't even have a man in the field until Oct. of 1917, barely a year before the war ended. America's part in world war 1 was so minimal it is not even worth printing. Also, France was not liberated during the First World War. Liberated means to be spared from a foe ie the Nazis.

  • But France was never taken over in the First World War. Only a portion of the nation was held by the German Army. It was the Canadians that broke the stalemate of the First World War with things like the creeping barrage. Take a look at the 2 Armies that pushed during the last 100 days...Canada and Australia. NOT America.

    Get Your Facts Right!

  • @YoungChevys thats a common misconception, the stalemate was broken by the 2.8 million drafted Americans and the effective British naval blockades and mass tank bombardment. The 2 "armies" only consisted of 600,000 canadians and roughly 900,000 australians. The Canadians and Australians made important contributions to the war (I'm not flag bashing here) but to say the US did not break the stalemate and the Canadian and Australian armies are soley responsible is a great lie.

  • @YoungChevys what? greek army with the glorius victory at skra battle in the balkan-macedonian front push the stalemate not the australians, sory.

  • @vidman163 "America did nothing in both world wars"...how silly to say that.

America was the arsenal of democracy and supplied vast quantities of food, clothing, weapons and money to all of the allies in both WW1 and WW2.

  • @EdwardRommel and we lost men to help liberate Europe and Japan.

  • @vidman163 .....except drop a nuke on japan which ended world war 2

  • @goldensurfer16: Or every country in the world could just invade Japan.

  • I've got this movie on DVD. Critics panned it, but I've always enjoyed watching it. The battle scenes are quite vivid for the time (made in 1979). This is one of my favorite non-battle scenes....

  • Did the Kaiser ever have his own car? In all the b&w history films, he's either on horseback or in a horse-drawn carriage.

  • @RISEagainst6543 If you watch the film "All's Quiet on the Western Front", you will see it is an inferior army. The US army was the finest in the world, and still is. Why? It is because of tradition, loyalty and honor. These three words amount to one thing that American soldiers have that no other army has - professionalism.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne I coulda swore it's because the US spends over 660 billion dollars on the military a year...That's five times more than the next top country, China, at 98 billion.

  • @goutmasterdarryl That is correct. You need to make an investment to have a great army. What a splendid fighting force the American presents. Throughout history the United States has won. Why? It is because they set the barre far higher than anyone else. The American soldier is an holistic fighting unit. He is the best. Yeh!

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne

    Settle down eagle scout

  • @biggrigga OK. Those goddams get to me sometimes - big mouth, absent when the fightng starts.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne bar is spelled b-a-r not b-a-r-r-e unless this is a ballet barre that your talking about witch im pretty sure your not

  • @xxxCHLOE1004xxx

    1) You are correct. It is all. The German is "Im Westen nichts Neues", which means "nothing new in the west.

    2) Whether German was superior is a matter of opinion. They did lose overall.

    3) Bar/barre depends on the context. I always thought it only aplied to ballet, but now find it was used in high jump also.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne no it's because in our circumstances of being out-numbered by vast amounts of countries; all the allies depended on you to make the slight push for their achievment of victory over we Germans. If it was only you Americans against the Second German Reich; we would have crushed you without issue.

  • @freakfurt I think that the problem Germany had was on a large number of fronts. The splendid forces from the United States were superior from whatever angle you look at.

    1) Man for man, the American fighter was fitter, more intelligent, and well - just a better man.

    2) The command structure of the US Army was superior at every level, section all the way up to army group.

    3) The patriotism and love of God and Country was there for Americans.

    4) The Americans were simply more heroic.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne this is only of your opinions, more intelligent?! The German race itself has generated more intelligent individuals then any other race in existance. The average German male is much more fit and healthy than the average American of the time. The German command structure is far more superior than the American, we were able to obliterate anyone whom stands before us without struggle until we became vastly outnumbered. patriotism?! the German Volk are the proudest people I know

  • @freakfurt You cannot ever match the heroic fighting skill of the American solider. The Germans may be proud as you say. The Americans are superior men, like gods. The Germans were kept down by the English for years. Now the English child, America comes, far superior to the parent. It can trample Germany into the dust at any time.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne "superior men"? "like gods" ?! turn Germany into dust? Ha! I would love to see you even attempt such a thing, you just sound like the typical over-egotistical un-educated, moron who say's poorly thought out and almost fantasy-like things without any logic, this just shows how "superior" you Americans truely are.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne: VERY STRANGE EASY. YOU'RE BELITTLING THE KAISER'S ARMY AND YET YOU'VE OPENLY EXPRESSED ADMIRATION ON HERE BEFORE FOR THE NAZI REGIME...

"THE NAZIS WERE HONOURABLE" - REMEMBER THOSE WORDS EASY?! YOU SHOULD DO, THEY'RE YOURS!

EVERYONE...IGNORE THIS PRICK, HE'S NOTHING BUT A LYING TROLL.

  • @Pheonixfromtheshale What an idiot you are. I never said these words. I also don't use the word "troll". You do. You insult others directly and are certainly a troll.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne: "I never said these words"!? - Shall I post the link up for all to see!?

I use the word 'troll', because that's what you are...a troll! A lying, snivlling, spineless, revisionist, nazi loving troll. The very fact that you've fabricated a fictional wife and family for yourself on other posts here, tells me everything I need to know about you easy. You are a sad, lonely, pathetic specimen of a man who just doesn't measure up in the real world, hence your behavior on here.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne dude, as an america, I would like to say shut up, you know nothing about how horrible america is at fighting conventional wars, mostly because of it is idiots like you. The Germans were never defeated by a bunch south asia communist running around in the jungle. You also know nothing about historical relationships. England is actual the traditional ally of Germany, The current royal family is a German monarchy. It upsets me to see stupid idiots like you, disgrace america

  • @snowwolf7777 I know something of history. To say that Germany is a traditional ally of England is complete tosh. Man. They don't even speak the same language. The US has never been a traditional ally of Germany either. I would say that the US has been a traditional ally of the South Asian countries than with Germany. The Phillipines and Australia have more historical alliances with the US than Germany. Your history is obviously lacking. Hell. I had relatives based in the Phillipines.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne Really, tell them how the US to this day still hasn't apologizes for putting Filipinos in concentration camps during the Philippine-American War. Please move back with them, simply by talking you denim most Americans. You clearly are a stupid, the reason why we had to pull out of the Philippines because of the anti-Americanism. "they don't speak the same language" is your only argument? Forget the fact they fought Napoleon together or the Catholics? Your not a real American.

  • @snowwolf7777 "I will return" said the great General of the Army. That is the love Americans have for the great Philippine people.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne Great? We treated the Filipinos like Niggers. General Jacob H. Smith orders were "KILL EVERY ONE OVER TEN" and the great american army did.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne

Let me guess...your education came from the "Why We Fight" series, right? My God man, you are something else. The countless thousands slaughtered during and after the Philippine-American War would like to have a word with you about the "love" America has for their people.

And it's true. The English were much closer to the Prussians/Germans than the French until Kaiser Wilhelm II's ambitions made the British paranoid and pushed them to warmer relations with the French.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne you said, "'"I will return' said the great General of the Army. That is the love Americans have for the great Philippine people."

kk and then we took over the phillipeans but not before the Philippine people rebelled. We did after all to promise to free them from Spain but we only took over ourselves. We are not all that different. America has done its fair share of imperialism.

  • @harrylarry6868 dude just shut up that post was five months ago quit complanining

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne Oh and i'm glad you delated your most recent response (I recieved all responses via email), I was quite close to thinking you are a oblivious, un-educated, and overall moron who will make up complete and utterly fictional facts just to win an argument, however, I partially resent.

  • @freakfurt Horses, march music and boring uniforms do not win campaigns. America is about bravery, skill, and intelligence. That is why the USA is now the most powerful country on earth, and will remain so for 1000 years. That is why Germany kowtows to the United States as lord and master. God Bless America.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne just stop, your points are ignorant, highly opinionated, and backed with no facts, your American stupidity is a waste of my time.

  • @freakfurt Is it? Germany is living in the past. Like many second rate European nations, Germany tried to conquer other countries. It had little success, always being clobbered by England and France. England was the world master for a long time. That role has now gone to the United States, and Germany does what it is told. The United States also defeated Germany in 1918. Why? Because, as I said, America was superior in every way. The facts you want are obvious. Just look at the results.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne

The US defeated Germany in 1918 because Germany was exhausted, having lost 2 million men fighting two major fronts and assisting with dozens of others with nearly no colonial forces aiding in the European fronts; Britain and France could and did draw upon their African and Asian populations while Germany's colonial forces were stuck fighting a flawless campaign in East Africa.

Before WWI, American forces were a raw, tough rabble barely emerging from the Civil War...

  • @idahobuckeye I laugh at how everybody claims how the USA was so powerful in WW1 and WW2. The truth is they enter the war when German is already going towards defeat.

  • @manz900 Their power was laughable in WWI, but they had a significant contribution in WWII, you can't deny. Although I'll admit, their initial cowardice in the war was as embarrassing as the French surrender. At least the French were surrounded and had to surrender. We just didn't feel like going to war.

Even still, Germany was pretty much the strongest military at the time. I'm just pissed that people assume they started the war, when it was Serbia and Austria/Hungary.

  • @xXShortEmoKidXx Well, there were plenty of other political and powerplay factors that led to WW1. The issues with Austria-Hungary & Serbia & the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand merely gave a final excuse for war. Regardless, you are correct. Germany did not start The Great War for which they were blamed. In fact, if memory serves correctly, in official terms, due to their alliance, Germany declared war after Austria-Hungary was declared war upon. They may have wanted it but didn't start it.

  • @shogunrommel Everyone in Europe wanted it, specifically the largest powers: Germany, France, and Britain. Each wanted to take over Europe, and soon, the world, but every country had so many allies that it would make declaring war on one country a war with several countries, so nothing happened until Black Hand, the terrorist group that assassinated Archduke Ferdinand, unknowingly lit the fuse.

  • @xXShortEmoKidXx And then boom. Exactly. Thanks for nothing Princip.

  • @shogunrommel We also can't forget the Treaty of Versailles, which France used to punish Germany, essentially fucking them over until Hitler came into power, and started WWII. In a way, it was France's fault that Hitler came into power in the first place, because that's how Germany became so desperate.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne

while Germany's forces were regarded as the pinnacle of professionalism and tradition.

You aren't the brightest crayon in the box, are you?

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne I SMELL A TROLL. Although Hitler was not supposed to raise any sort of army in 12 years he overwhelmed the RAF and almost burned England to the ground. Not only that but there are many instances where Hitler could have defeated the American armies almost completely. He could have defeated Russia but he obviously didn't hear of a man named NAPOLEON BONAPARTE. LOL.

Anyways America is not invicible. Though we did win the war.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne dumbass get educated.

  • @deakon452876 Educated about what? Insulting others, as you English do.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne one thing is, we lost veitnam. and were not going anywhere in Afghanistan. were not makeing any progress and weve been their for almost 10 years? cmon. thats why you need to get educated what are you 12? you know nothing.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne dude back then (and also during world war 2) the germans were superieur :p believe me im belgian. just stop saying this patriotic crap that they teach you as children

  • @rolle16 I respect that. You are from Belgium, like Washington DC in the US. You run Europe. You in Brussels are also very patriotic.

Your anthem says: "Worship him you millions. Find him in the heavens. There must he dwell, a loving father. Above the canopy of stars". The loving father is the European President. The Canopy of Stars is the European Flag.

Americans don't carry on like that.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne im not patriotic at all :p i didnt even know we had an anthem o.O

  • @rolle16 Exactly, someone once said, "Patriotism is the belief that a country is superior to another because you were born in it."

The Germans were superior all the way back to when they were just the Prussian Electorate of Brandenburg and East Prussia.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne 1. its ALL not all'S 2. germany was very superior correct me if im wrong but even undefeated... i know that and im only 13

  • @xxxCHLOE1004xxx Anyway, if you are "only 13", you are doing well. These are important parts of history, which many kids are not interested in. Also, it is good to challenge anyone, if you think they are incorrect. Tuth does not belong to anyone. A three year old can challenge a 55 year old professor. Whoever is telling the truth will win. :)

  • I always loved the Deutsche Ulan Kavalrie in this scene, make me want to get my picklehaube out where it when this song is playing.

  • Gosh this looks stupid. Horses! What chance would they have against American professionals? None.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne

are you a retard? the americans dipped a bit into the first world war. right at the end. cavalry units were still used up to the first and second world war.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne Idiot. Cavalry in the first world war was not used as extensively as in previous conflicts, they are not currently marching to WAR, the Horses are used for here for aesthetic purposes. They look GOOD. Come back and talk when you've learned some history, American.

  • There's a remake of this coming out in 2012, staring Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe). It might/could be, interesting". The original 1930 version is a masterpiece (& would be hard to top) & the award winning, 1979, made for TV version is superb. Some movies really shouldn't be remade. I feel this is 1 of them. No need for a 3rd. If not for a severe shortage of recently made WW1 films, I'd be totally against it, but as it is, I am interested to see how it turns out. I hope it's good!

  • @gjc82071

Lol. I hope they don't. If only they had a time machine to go back and have real World War 1 soldiers and the actual Kaiser :D do this scene.

  • @FredericktheGreatII Hope they don't what, do a remake? It's already in post-production. Posters are made, trailers, etc. Daniel Radcliffe is so type-casted as an actor (much the way William Shatner is & shall forever remain Capt. Kirk), it's hard to picture him as anything but Harry Potter. That being said, it will definitely be hard to sell him as a WW1 GERMAN soldier!

  • @gjc82071

Yes he would be saying while drinking tea, Oh God Save the Queen, I mean Kaiser..wait..Oh bloody hell what the fudge. Oh rats, me tea spilled on me. Oh *insert spell here* ah..much better. Lol.

What if Sean Connery played as the German soldier? :P

  • @FredericktheGreatII I don't think Connery could pass in the role. He's like 80+yo. A bit old for a soldier. A it old evern for the Kaiser! hehehe

  • @gjc82071

Lol. When he would get shot he would say, "I'll get you next time Brit!". But I think he would be a good German soldier because didnt he serve in the war? Lol

  • I don't know where you heard the bullshit that the losers of a war write the history of it.

If you don't want to be blamed for starting a war, then you and your people should have tried harder to win it.

  • What is the name of song that bend is playing?

  • @Odlikas The first, as the Kaiser approaches, is the Prussian Presentation March (Preussischer Praesentiertmarsch), still used today by the Bundeswehr when high dignataries are reviewing the troops (See the Obama and Merkel at NATO summit 2008), when the Kaiser gets off the car and goes towards the men, it is the Cavalry March of the Great Prince Elector (GrosseKurfuersten Reitermarsch)

  • @Odlikas

"Preußischer Präsentiermarsch" - eng. Prussian Presernters march.

still played today when guests are greeted with military honors:

    [ watch?v=ip75fQ-Lnfc ]

the other is the "des großen Kurfürsten Reitermarsch"

    [ watch?v=T1hqQwkYnNk ]

  • @schlawa

the second march is the "Marsch aus der Zeit Friedrichs des Großen" and not "Des großen Kurfürsten Reitermarsch"!

  • @20sfx

Im sorry your right. *ducks away ashamed* :)

  • It's not Des Großen Kurfürsten Reitermarsch but the Präsentiermarsch Friedrich der Große.

  • @Odlikas Don't Stop Believing by Journey

  • What's this version? There are a ton of different versions of this movie floating around. The one I saw was a crappy black and white one.

  • @ranebow5

You're talking about the old version. This is the remake.

  • @ranebow5 The "crappy" black and white one is the classic original. What, you need bright colors or you can't pay attention?

  • @blacbraun No but this version has better acting. I had to watch this in English class way back. Later I tried to get the movie at the library and saw the b/w version. Acting in it sucked- I liked this version better.
