this is so freakin cool....you're awesome...i tried doing something like that with a plastic sitck at home...i broke two vases and hit myself quite a few times...not pretty, but you're amazing, nice work.......and btw ure cute:)):))
Ehm, quite a while, I don't know how long exactly, but it wasn't that hard. I started with a wooden stick and when that worked, I also tried it with those knives. It took me a couple of hours in total I think.
Be honest, have you ever twirled one round and smacked yourself with it?
I used to mess around practicing stuff like this, could never get the knack of two hands at once though. My left hand just isn't coordinated enough. Cool video :)
Hey, thanks. You can watch my other video called Lord of the Rings swords and stuff, and there you can see the Legolas daggers better and it also has information about the daggers.
Thanks man, well it's kinda hard to explain because I didn't learn it from anybody. I just practised a lot with a wooden stick. I hold it between my forefinger and thumb and start swinging, something like that XD If you search on 'wooden stick moves' you can see my other movie, maybe it helps.
Excited..my Arwen sword is arriving today. I ordered the non-UC one because I wanted the scabbard with it. Can't wait. Legolas's knives are next. Wish I could afford those UC scabbards they make for them, but they are 96 dollars. At least that is the cheapest I have seen for them.
@GruntingAragorn Just getting into swords since watching HBO's Rome and now Spartacus. How or where can I learn sword handling moves like you demonstrated? Thanks. Chris
Hey man, well actually I didn't learn this from anybody. I started practising with a wooden stick, and when I controlled that really well, I thought of some moves and did them with the swords. You just have to go for it, keep on practising and release the warrior within, which we all have inside of us. But be carefull with metal swords, never practise with sharp ones and always begin with a wooden stick or something like that. Good luck!
Dont think those fancy spins and flips work work very well in battle... Nice moves nonetheless though man, good job. I would like to see more form you.
Thanks man, and yes you're right. This is only for the show, in real combat these tricks will be useless. Though some things could be handy, like switching a sword in one hand.
Hehe, actually I'm a lass ^^ I've got an interest in swords though, definitely gonna practise with mine soon.. and hopefully look something like you by the end =D
Good luck, dude! I recommend to start with a wooden stick (that's how I learned it). You don't want to drop the sword accidentally or hit yourself with it :P
You can watch my movie 'Wooden Stick Moves' for example to see some moves with a wooden stick. Keep practising and you will manage to do some sick moves ^^
