Yet "Day" starts off with everything lost and people living on borrowed time. They were set up in a underground facility, they were already doomed.

Just the part about the outnumbering humans 400,000 to 1 is killer. This isnt simply a zombie movie...Its the end of humanity. Everything about this movie is perfection. My personal favorite kill is when the guy's head gets yanked off along with his vocal chords and his scream pitch gets higher and higher. Great great movie.

For me, Day of the Dead was more of a horror-themed drama. The movie was more focused on character development and tension between characters than violence. Though I think Dawn of the Dead is the best of the Romero series.
