When I was in Beijing last year I saw they had placed still images alongside the track so when you went by it animated, I think I may have seen some more of that in Nagoya last summer as well.

Actually, I already saw some advertisements in the Beijing subway this summer. And that's a really good place 'coz you've got nothing else to do than looking at these.
