@DutchyDubs I noticed that too! I flipped out when I finally heard the intro to this Robin Hood movie. "OH MY GOSH! Disney uses this music!" Not sure how that works, though.
this is hollywood at its finest, when they treated classical tales with respect and epicness not this 3d bullshit all about the footage and not the acting, music or story, long live the 80-90s in movies!
One of my most favorite movies... When I was young I thought it all really happened. But this is a movie for young and old. Some things are funny but some things are serious, you don`t see that combination today much anymore.
One of the most sweeping overtures in cinematic history. Great locations for this one. Visited them many times. Hardraw Force, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire (where Robin takes his bath), Aysgarth Falls also in Wensleydale where Robin fights Little John is a lovely place in the summer. Also Burnham Beeches near London, used in some of the forest scenes. It's very sobering to think that this film is now 20 years old! Time flies way too fast.
@thomasleurmusic Indeed it was, and that's why it remains one of my favourite films to this very day. The shot of Kevin Costner loosing that arrow in slow motion with the fire behind him is an iconic one to say the least. And Alan Rickman owns every scene he's in - he was clearly having the time of his life as the Sheriff of Nottingham :)
makes u wanna pick up a sword & stand alongside ur fellow brothers, sisters & swashbuckle evil ,, with this tune victory is ours! lol,,, rip mr kamen, ur music is a wonderfull gift thank you :D
Its kind of funny just how much this resembles his Band of Brothers score. Not like the same melodies, but the same like idea I guess. I don't know, you just can tell by listening that its a Michael Kamen.
MICHAEL KAMEN (1948 - 2003) was a great film composer. I liked very much his middle age scores. It`s a great shame that he died by the age of 55, but his music is eternily...
Det best part is at 0:40 that is where it really takes off and it gives me the chills everytime!!!

The best part is the trumpets starting at 1:07 . Epic! You can hear the charging knights. Does anyone happen to have a recording of just that part?

@Shenordak at 1:07 there are french horns playing not trumpets
