I know Christian had his ways, but he really was in love with Eva and she blindly threw that away for Todd. Even though Cris treated her badly after the parting of ways, you can tell he still loved her. Even now with her in a coma, this relationship with Sarah is a joke because I believe if Eva wakes up (Providing REG returns or another actress, but hopefully REG), Cris would drop Sarah like a bad habit.
