I live in PA , and we do have emission checks yearly . So my check engine has to be off for it to pass . They plug a computer into the obd2 plug to check for codes .
Yep, same here. Just snuck through emissions yesterday. =D I don't know if PA laws are the same, but in TN, as long as all but one of your monitors are set when they scan your car, you can pass emissions.
I'm pretty sure Cattman's headers have all the O2 ports so you can hook up your primary and secondaries. If your secondaries are plugged in and throw a code, a spark plug anti-fouler on each one will fix things right up.
I would love a set of cattman's . The only thing I am worried about is passing a emissions test without precats . I have a local guy to me that does fab work, I was thinking about making a y pipe with some high flow cats. But I cannot find shorty headers except for the fleabay ones...
Where do you live? Emissions here requires a cat on your car. I have my main cat, but my precats are gone, so I can still sneak through. They just slide a mirror under the car and look for the main one. So unless they open your hood and look, they'll never see your headers.
@datsunzcar84 Yeah, that's normal for this car...unfortunately. =[
Grab yourself a set of OBX V2s. They're about $300. Or, if you want a set of high-quality headers, you can get in touch with Brian Catts of Cattman Performance.
I put mine on and had a high flow rear converter welded in . I need to cut out the resonator it's just a bit too quiet for my tastes. Thanks for the video!!!
How well does this exhaust fit? I bought an Option Racing exhaust for my Celica before, and the fit was terrible. I had to get it redone at an exhaust shop to get rid of all the leaks.
It fits pretty well. I had to do a little MacGyvering because the b-pipe came in two parts, and there was a flange bumping up against the exhaust shield by the fuel tank. I just bent the shield, and no more problems.
I had to get new rubber hangers, too. The exhaust was snug up against the bumper with the OEM rubber hangers, and I had to drop it a bit because I'd rather not warp my bumper.
Alright, that's good to hear. Did you notice any gains with the exhaust? And does it sound anything like a 350Z or G35 in real life? I have crappy speakers. And how loud is it? Thanks.
It sounds really good man! I need a new exhaust asap. Im tempted to pick up one of these for less than $200 on ebay. How do you like it so far? Any drone?
It sounds good, and the 2.5 inch piping keeps a bit of back pressure on the engine, so it's not too horribly free-flowing. The downfall: there's quite a bit of drone at highway speeds (2500+ RPM)... I usually drown it out with my system, but it's there. I figure I'll eventually run a 22" or longer res vs. the stock 16, to see if it'll eliminate some of it.

@datsunzcar84
It was fair enough. Banged on the rear axle now and then, but I fixed that with some c-clamps. ;)
