There are still tons of car that hand its ass to it in a straight line out there roaming the streets. Sure its great in corners but you'll never have that unless you're constantly out on the track.

@zorkor That's a silly statement ... Nissan have made no attempt to hide that they made the GT-R to compete with the 911 Turbo S, they have done a good job, but that extra weight still make it slower. GT-R, 911 TS are both in the same league (with a few other cars - R8 V10 and Lambo 'LP-580').

@bigkckrva Way different in that the new turbos produce 530 instead of 485... Instead of bus lengths with this car, it would be a couple car lengths against the new one. The GTR is fast, but it's way too heavy and that's why Porsche turbos are faster from highway pulls, from launches, and in the quarter mile. Not to mention how much faster the PDK shifts, but that's a whole different argument lol.

@bigkckrva The new 2012 GTR runs an 11.0 at almost 123 mph... That's some great traction, but a terrible trap. The new GT-R will get walked easily by the baseline turbo (The 2010 manual trapped at 126, let alone the new pdk, which traps higher), and even more easily by the Turbo S (Traps at 129). The GTR's transmission doesn't shift as quick as the pdk, it has less horsepower, and it weighs 300lbs more than the turbo S. If you can give me some evidence suggesting a GTR victory, please tell me.

@bigkckrva Clearly you don't read very well. The baseline turbo has 500 hp (and a pdk), the new GTR has 530. You don't know how fast Porsche's and GTR's are because you've never been in them before. This GTR is now a Stage II Cobb with a 90 whp gain. Guess what, the Porsche still walks by it completely stock. GTRs are great track cars, however they are no match for Porsches on everyday highway races. I hope Nissan gives the GTR 600 hp. About time they give Porsche some competition on the highway

@camirocz At least one car... The Turbo S is lighter and has a quicker tranny than the new GT-R. Watch the video to the right, second from the top, showing a stock 530 hp Turbo S not only beating a 550 hp stage 2 Tuned GT-R in the Quarter Mile and Mile, but also having higher trap speeds for both. From rolls and stops, the Turbo S will always win unless the GT-R has a significant hp advantage.

@camirocz Who said anything about bang for the buck? I got my Turbo S because its one of the fastest stock cars you can buy and b/c I wanted an all around good car. I could have gotten a ZR1 and a Switzer P800 for the same price as my Porsche, but neither of those cars as as luxurious or as daily drivable. GTR is faster around a track, but how many times do you race on a track every day? I'll walk by you on the highway and burn you from every light on the way to and from the track in the Porsche

@eduardelric now with the more aggressive cobb stage 2 tune the GT-R beats the porsche and the porsche has full exhaust and a bad tune from fabspeed, basically no tune at all its basically now a 997 turbo with a tune and exhaust and the race is still close GT-R only wins by half a car length. To address your comment a 2012 would lose to both cars from any role.
