This is first time I heard of this band. Heard them on a local college radio station, song they played on there was haunting the obscure. station is 91.1 wruw, ever since i heard this band, instantly got hooked. love the songs, intense but at same time it is mellow, perfect. So Solitude Aeturnus, add another fan to the list!

i liked the bond between solitude aeturnus and candlemass. they dont hate eachother like megadeth and metallica. I liked Lowes vocals better cuz messiah is kinda weid singing cuz its like oprah. Messiah is so badass though.

Texas Metal definitely Pffffft. I mean the guys in Pantera didn't do anything for the Metal genre. or did they? Not to mention Helstar with James Rivera, who is among the best metal singers I have seen live.

I think Lowe did a better job than Messiah on At the Gallows End, his vocal inflection and expressive delivery bought great passion to that track.  Overall, I do think Messiah was the best candlemass singer. I also like the first candlemass singer Johan Langqvist and Thomas Vikstrom from chapter VI. Lowe fits very well with candlemass.

wow this brings back memories, i believe i still have their first few albums on cassette tape somewhere still. doesn't get old! great use of double-bass drums in this doom metal. i remember listening to this band when my friends were like "who the F are they?" very underrated band. As a musician they have been huge inspiration to me.

SomoN, I didn't know there was a difference between EPIC doom metal like Candlemass and regular ol' doom like Sabbath/Vitus. I thought all three played classic doom metal and all three are incredibly epic in their own way, but you seem to know so much. Cue sarcastic laughter. I used to go see these guys at a club called "Joe's Garage" in Fort Worth, Texas back in the late 80's and early 90's. I get chills listening to them still today!!
