Miles lucked out on this play. This was really a horrible play call. It just somehow worked out in his favor. The pass defense was near perfect, the throw was just a tiny bit better. But I still can't get over how bad that call was! Why not go for a field goal? If their receiver tips the ball incomplete, the game is over and Auburn wins. I just remember how bad this one hurt. I didn't even want to get out of bed the next morning.

Miss State blows the whistle on Cecil's attempt to extort money in exchange for Cam's commitment to the university. Boom! The only question remaining, fortunately for me, answers itself.......Why would Cam sign with Auburn? Was it money, or did Cecil suddenly develop a conscience?

Why would they sign with Auburn, and not Mississippi State. Besides, Miss St was the first school they approached, and were now equipped with knowledge of their agenda, and the power to expose it to the NCAA. If at this juncture they decided to forget the cash, wouldn't Miss St. still be the way to go to stay safe?

The reason Cam didn't get into trouble with the NCAA for his dad soliciting money from MSU is because he did not end up at MSU in the end. If he had gone to MSU, he would have been declared ineligible. And if you are so concerned with the integrity of college football, then wouldn't you want AU to be innocent rather than guilty of cheating?

I'm not rooting for anything to happen, but I have plenty of reason to be suspicious of what happened, so while I won't be surprised if something does surface, I'm in no way encourging or hoping it does happen. I just find it hard to believe that he left a team for non payment, and signed with another program for Free???? From what I understand, Cecil was a very shrewd negotiator, and certainly not the type of person to just give up.

If Mississippi State disregarded the extortion, and Cam still wanted to make a commitment to their program, do you really think they would have exposed him? Miss St. didn't even blow the whistle until mid November anyway. Cheating and dishonesty have become a necessary evil due to these chicken hawk boosters, and the BCS. If a playoff existed, cheating would suffer.

@DigitalDyk But Mississippi state did blow the whistle. They reported their findings to the NCAA in January of 2010, not in November. They even stated that they were not trying to turn in Auburn, but to show the NCAA the violations that could possibly have happened with Cam's recruitment. That is not a safe bet at all to not report yourself, because if the NCAA finds out, then you are in as much trouble as OSU is in. More trouble if your Athletic Department knows, not just your head coach.
