i think its fair to say that the first five albums are bollocks, even the members of floyd dont like their early stuff but i listen to meddle and onwards, i think they managed to get their creative wrinting right then, im a massive fan of pink floyd but meddle and onwards is awesome!

@MrAguy645 to be fair, dark side of the moon is one of those albums that needs to have time set aside for it, in order to truly appreciate it. You can't really have it as background music. It's also no good for just listening to individual songs... as an album, it truly is one of the best though.

division bell is much better for background-ness. the individual songs stand alone very well, whereas dark side of the moon needs to be complete in order to properly shine.
