  • This game was pretty good, but DQIII is probably 10x better (I still argue that it's the best DQ game ever made).

  • Am I strong enough if my levels are LV30 (Hero), LV28 (Prince) and LV22 (Princess)?

  • it wasn't cuz they sent me the maps with the game LOL......nintendo power baby!!!!!! i still love this game and it was easier when i was a kid i just beat it again recently i was like man!

  • "Thou has defeated the atlas, now your entire crew will get lost at sea and die. Great job dickhead"

  • oh man, i remember getting to rhone when i was around level 30 (after training in that stupid cave...) and thinking it was gonna be easy, until the monkeys decided to start wiping out my entire party with sacrifice

  • There ought to be a stat-growth mod patch that redistributes some of the Prince's strength boosts down toward the lower levels - say, one that increases his level-25 Strength rating by about 20 points, but still maxes out at 140 points by level 45.

  • I just love (sarcasm) the way the Prince of Cannock hits two different enemies when he could kill one by hitting it twice.

  • lol at Giant.

  • 5:33, I could hear the programmers laughing, saying, "April Fool."

  • It would be cool to see the earlier Dragon Warrior/ Quest games on the DS since I don't have an NES or anything. I would definitely buy them because I discovered this series last year and it is awesome!

  • I forgot how brutal this game was. So awesome.

  • Wow, talk about memories, I remember watching my brother playing this when we were kids, and he realized fully that he was in the endgame segment when he saw that he encountered Atlas, he was like "Oh shit! Atlas!" and immediately phoned a friend who helped him out.

Needless to say, we not only got to Malroth that night, we also managed to beat the game and enjoy the ending. To say we were overjoyed would be an understatement. Damn, this definitely brought back memories, thanks for posting.

  • I just wish I could find a way to get the Water Flying Cloth in the online flash versions of the game.

I can't "turn off my game" and hold the reset button, because there's no lithium battery saving my progress.... : /

  • I forgot the pitiful stats they give you. Great game, though.

  • You say you have a mysterious hat.... and yet MANY sources say that the item is in fact NOT in the game normally. Magic Vampirus is supposed to drop it... but he doesn't. So how exactly did you get this item if you are not cheating?

  • Some versions of the game have it. Some don't.

    tinyurl(.)com/knfx56

  • Actually they do drop, but it's extremely rare.

  • very good game bro im getting all of then now thank you for reminding me bro

  • I stilll have this game!!! original NES and the game too. but i bet the games i save on it probably got deleted since the battery is long dead

  • Gold batboons... They've ruined so many lives over the years.

  • this brings me back...thanks for posting!

  • PoC is my best character He is strong and he has awsome spells

  • how long does it take to beat this game and DWIII

  • Beats me, they don't have timers :P They're decently long for 8-bit RPGs, I'd guess 25-30 hours each...

  • @c0ldsurg3 I remember beating 2 quicker than 3. I try not to rush the Dragon Warrior Games. I wish they took years to beat. I beat Ultima, Quest Of The Avatar, the fastest of any NES RPG.

  • i never hated or liked Poc

I always have him with a

    Falcon Sword people are always

Sayin' that Iron Spear is the

best for him but Some 1 Had !

and only did 3 Dmg 2 malroth

    Iron Spear is LAME!

  • no it don't... but you do

  • Great game, but definitely the toughest of the 4 made for the NES.

  • Absolutely, it's one of the hardest RPGs I've ever played in fact. Of course it's not half as bad as Ultima III though, that game is downright sadistic.

  • Sad part is, the only reason it is so difficult is cuz of the HP/Defense power deficiencies of your team and the Firebane bug. They took those away in the GBA remake and made the game much easier. That and Cannock can equip the Light sword in the remake...

IMO the GBC remake is easier but more enjoyable.

  • I hated, hated, hated Those sacrifice/defeat like moves.

  • @WillBFugly ....

    did you

HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Them?

  • This game doesn't "share" experience points for characters, so for leveling, it's best to get all 3 characters as soon as possible. Using an emulator and savesstates can let you do this easily. As for leveling, just pick a spot with weaker enemies, and speed up the emulator for quick leveling with turbo fights. The ocean is a great leveling area for mid level characters.

  • Are your characters completely legit? If so, Jesus, that took a loooooooooooooong time.

  • Yep they're legit. And yep, it took a hell of a long time, but it was worth it I think...

  • Oh the memories...
