  • 1:12 wtf joshua gomez ?

  • @Ruger1000fps hahahahaah

  • @Ruger1000fps Dude why the hate? i mean everyone is entitled to there own opinion

    but what the fuck?

  • This was sooooo official. I am definitely gonna take you advice. You know it all!!!!

  • motions are the way forward because casuals simply can't use joypads very well. GIve a controller to your wife or gf and you'll see what I'm saying. They can't use the analogs as camera control or even to move a character in the right direction (without great effort). For core gamers though yes of course joypad will still prevail for many years yet to come.

  • No games for the hardcore gamer? I sure as hell enjoyed Killzone 3 with my PS Move.

  • Yes I agree with this video all the way

  • I concure on this heartilly. The only useful thing I've ever used by Kinect for is the scanning feature on Halo CEA...and even that really isn't worth it if your a big a fan of the series as I am.

  • i think the gunstinger is the best motion control game in between ps3 and xbox

  • @Sharpshooter932 I love them

  • Number 1 should be motion controls, fucking hate them

  • this should have been number one imo

  • I wasted my money on PS move. It sucks ass and has no games!

  • @Ronldbx6 the PS move is fun with killzone once you get the learning curve. if you have the sharpshooter.

  • @jjd721 I actually just bought a dancing game for the ps move after Christmas and it's fun! I love it! It's called Every Dance. Gets you moving and really works you out. I was actually doing it with my family last night. So I had a change of heart towards the ps move right now. Just wish they had more of a selection of games.

  • @Ronldbx6 By the way I bought the ps move last December. So I had it for a year now.

  • @HypersonicX7 They also spent a good percentage of time talking about the WiiU.

  • I don't agree with the Kinect sometimes and I have it. I really don't give a fuck about motion controls like that. Its really irritating

  • You could hardly roll a bomb in Skyward Sword, seriously?? -_-

And at Nintendo's E3 2010 Press Conference, they had technical difficulties. Anyone who's played the Wii (with Motion Plus) for long enough knows this...

  • ps move...meh -_-

    kinect...eewww

  • the only thing these games are good for is when phil makes picture-in-picture videos of them and we can laugh xD

  • it would be awesome to play games with motion controls that actually WORK

  • WAIT. Are they making a God of War game for motion controls?...

  • oh come on phil you think its easy to make a game good with motion cotrols

there going for an almost impossle task

  • @got2lovepizza YOU NEED TO LEARN TO SPELL!!! YOU DUMBASS FUCKER!

  • I REALLY love the pictures from 0 : 00 to 1 : 17 they are hilarious

  • still games like time crisis is good for the move XD

  • The ad before this video was for the Kinect.....

  • Phil, the motion controls don't suck. You just stink at video games...

  • 1:11 Morgan Grimes?

  • Phil I swear you are mentally challenge if you can't roll a fucking bomb.

    1. Pick up bomb.

    2. Point wiimote directly at the floor.

    3. Flick wiimote forward.

I never even once rolling objects was difficult in Skyward Sword. The only "hard" thing in it is the Free-Falling controls... and after some practice you can master that too.

  • @hoboX10 TAKE NINTENDO'S COCK OUTTA YOUR ASSHOLE!!! YOU RAINBOW FAG!!!

  • @BeautifulKurumi You are such a fucking idiot that it physically hurts.

  • I always thought of the wii remote as the great great grandchild of nintendos power glove. the kinect and the move are in the same boat. the power glove was a gimmick and so are the new generation of motion controls.

  • @zigwardScissorhands well the move is the king of all motion controlers cuz its both cam & remote making it more responsive & quick Wii & Kinect has either one of em

  • How ironic that the ad I saw for this video was for the PS Move.

  • Motion control gaming was pretty interesting during it's infancy, but after that it merely became a goddamned gimmick.

  • Knicket or how you spell it and the move is just ripoff off the wii in my opinon.

  • I have a feeling that Conduit 2 will be in the 1st/2nd/3rd videos for the worst gaming trends of 2011.

  • It's Weird, Nintendo started the whole Motion Control thing back in 06, but now their new console The Wii-U will be Controller based xD

  • @SideShowShayne1 It will actually be dual Motion and Controller. Under normal circumstances it will apparently user a controller similar to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, however it can also use the "Pad" controller when the TV is in use for other things

  • Phil, I have to agree over all, Motion Control is a work in progress, however some games, like Skyward Sword, is a major step in the right direction. Though...I'm not sure how you (and apparently so many others) have trouble with rolling stuff...I figured it out near instantly

  • Motion controls are good, but at the same time bad. The fact that it was created was a good idea for the most part, it's just how they implemented them into certain games that's the main problem. ! note: I feel very, VERY sad for anyone who owns the Fail-nect

  • They should just remove motion controls and the controller completely.

  • I bet the next one will be 3D.

It's fucking pointless and only sucks up your money and damages your eyes.

  • I thought this was going to be number 1...

  • Motion controls are not a complete gimmick, they work in Skyward Sword and the Gunstringer, but they should never be able to replace a good old fashioned gamepad.

  • FORZA 4

  • One day motion controls will be good but probably not for a while. At least technology needs to be pushed forward so in future it isn't shit. Was failure to focus on motion controllers over traditional controls.

  • Microsoft and Sony need to get off tehir lazy asses and make good games for us hardcore gamers not with motion controls what so ever nobody want to play a game with motion controls especially when you get home from work or school and youre tired as hell nobody is guoing to want to start flailing around they are probably going to use a game pad

  • Maybe next year motion control will be consistently good.

  • only reason i own a wii is Smash bros Brawl =)

  • This is an odd thing, I hate motion controls too, but Microsoft made a killing in terms of profit when it came to the Kinect and all the new xboxs and games they sold from it. So its not a fail if you like money and work for Microsoft.

  • 1:15 guy from Heroes??

  • 1:18 WTF It's Morgan from Chuck

  • I think we're seeing the natural progression of technology? Don't know how else to word it, lol! What I mean is, look at cell phones. They were only meant to make phone calls, now they have all sorts of features to make them act like portable computers. It seems like the gaming industry is doing almost the same thing (adding on features that have nothing to do with gaming) to sell more consoles and make more money.

  • one of them is gonna be movie games;)

    except arkham city!

  • @TheDano77 Arkham City isn't a movie.

  • if this is # 4 then what the fuck is 3,2,1 i bet one of them is sequels!

  • I'll tell you though, the money made from these stupid bullshit peripherals enable studios to have to budget to make the unbelievable games that we saw this past fall. However, I dont think motion controls are a total waste. I absolutely love the head-tracking in Forza 4. The key is to find a way like Turn 10 did to implement motion controls with traditional controls instead of replacing them.

  • 1:47 what was the boxing game he was playing

  • @ThePlasticBowl It's not boxing. Hulk Hogan's Main Event or something. Shit game.

  • (AVGN Voice)

    WHAT WERE THEY THIIIINKIIIIING??!?!

  • Number 1 or 2 is going to be Online Passes.

  • Gunstringer was dope though

  • I was so close to buying that kill zone 3 sharp shooter!! Whew!! More $ :)

  • I can't wait for Top 5 Racist Moments of 2011

  • i know what the last 3 will be:

    #3: in-game passes

    #2: 3ds

#1: sopa, s.978, and protect ip

  • question: were you standing up when playing? it works like 10x better.

  • @athan1214 ya, but he has a back problem so y does he have to be inconenienced because of a dumbass gimic

  • @TheGawd100 because, if we allow it, it can become more than a gimmick. motion control has the ability to become the future of gaming, we just need more skyward swords and less dance games.

  • the sharpshooter is great with killzone 3 WHEN YOU SET IT UP RIGHT that is, which i highly doubt he did,

  • I think phil fell asleep making these which is why there is no part 3 poor phil haha

  • I agree with you 100% Phil, motion controls are complete shite (except for a very few amount of exceptions) and the only reason they have become so saturated recently is because Game studios want to make more money.

  • @sqweebel1 It's obviously not game studios wanting to make more money, It's the hardware companies.

  • @LolFishFail ya, Game studios, which includes but is not limited to hardware companies

  • @sqweebel1 Game companies write software and develop the games, I hardly think that their opinions would differ from that of their customers. Otherwise their games wouldn't sell.

If anything it's Microsoft and Sony "putting muscle" on their in-house developers to make sure that at least a few games are released. Otherwise we'd be flooded with "hardcore" motion control games. It's a gimmick and game studios know this, they aren't stupid. It's the marketers and "corporates" that are behind it.

  • @LolFishFail You know what I meant, let it go.

  • @sqweebel1 Let what go? I was only acknowledging your comment... If you didn't want that then don't post, simple really. :)

  • @sqweebel1 of course game studios want to make money, they are businesses after all.

  • The only games in my opinion that used motion control pretty good this year are: Skyward Sword, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Dance Central o.O I am mainly with LBP2 because the game still focused on its controller aspect, but just added the feature of being able to use the Move controller for different user generated levels/mini games.

  • Dance Central for the Kinect should be one of the exceptions.

  • top 5 gameing moments of 2011

  • I thought killzone 3 was fun with motion controller. Thats about it.

  • i thought this would be much higher on the list... as well as the hacker strikes.. i dont even wanna know what DSP has as 3, 2, and 1 xD

  • @RedHeadedKillah Let's just say, COD COD and COD.

  • @RedHeadedKillah He said at the end for number 3 he was going to do the shittiest games of 2011. I suspect Conduit 2.

  • @RedHeadedKillah I think it's pretty obvious that #1 will be Internet government censorship.

  • DSP, everytime i see you or john play kinnect games or ps move games - you are either sitting or are not very physically lively at all. Plus, i have heard you mention that you're camera set-up does not calibrate properly - so look into that.

Motion controls are the obvious future of gaming and controllers will be a thing of the past in the next 10 years - why? because it sells. Companies care what sells, they don't give a fuck about the hardcore gamer. Gaming is going to becoming more physical

  • @KingDarkling Actually the way motion controls are there will most likley be a decline in sales for the kinect or PSmove and will stick with the controller as the main way of playing games with motion controlls either being forgotten because they were made to be perfect but in all reality when someone buys them they dont work properly in one way or another

Plus if you think about the games and how you play them motion controls cant support something like Elder scrolls or Cod type games

  • @KingDarkling - Well gaming will die then, because motion controls are the single worst thing ever invented. They suck.

  • Phil motion controles do work but u don't use them correct. Ur sitting down from to far from a distance to play the wii and u don't have enough space to play the kinect

  • thank god he reverted back to his original and lively voice here. That uppity 'professional' calm voice from the last vid he uses is annoying imo

  • Kinect is destroying the xbox 360.

  • @Joaommf01

    Kinnect sales: 10 million

    Xbox 360 sales: 57.6 million

    ps3 sales: 55.5 million

Plus, shitty kinnect games that do not work well.

Kinnect is a fail in terms of there target sales AND their available games.

  • agreed

  • well done video

  • I dont quite understand, i mean i dont love motion controls, but the odd wii game does use motion controls with success, which shows its not just a gimmick, it can work. In your skyward sword review, you first said you liked the combat, but then you went on to say motion controls hindered the experience.........how could they have done the combat any other way, how else would you of been able to strike an enemy on a certain side of their body?. Skyward Sword if anything proves its not a gimmick

  • @SamHain1031666

as a long time wii lover, somebody who enjoys motion controls (when used properly) and DSP fan, i learn, u shouldnt take phil too seriously with motion controls its his opinion and its really not worth stressing over like i never had a problem rolling a bomb and i had rare problems with skyward sword

  • So long as PC is unaffected I could care less.

  • I mean gaming pad

  • I don't mind motion controls, but I prefer a controller

  • WTF is this music

  • your still bitching about rolling bombs?? it works for me.

  • @acidtripz1 It's not about working. We are comparing effectiveness with efficiency. Motion controls make what should be simple gameplay into something you have to put effort in, what I mean by that is, instead of making deep, easy to learn hard to master games, they are making games that are not even challenging anymore and the only challenge is learning the motion controls. That's one of the main reasons you will never ever see a serious fighting game like Street Fighter using motion controls.

  • @biggestmario you can play street fighter 4 on kinect you tard

  • @HogiesHobbies well.... fuck

  • @biggestmario type in streetfighter4 on kinect bro - there a dude sweatin his ass off Hyduking all over the place - its a hack for the PC - :)

  • Controllers will be around for quite a while.

  • lol professional kinect gamer

  • Dsp i acually found it a lot harder to play shooting games with a controller then motion controlls only to the fact that i suck at the sensitivity and i lik using my arms

  • OMG YES, DSP THANK YOU, I THOUGHT MY DAY COULDN'T GET BETTER!

  • @kinectaddict Screw that....

  • @kinectaddict I quit then, the Microsoft camera is shit, and that's what it fucking is a camera, keep that shit of PC.

  • The Kinect will be much improved in 2012 - i agree with your opinion as it is your own, however you must understand if your playing the kinect you must be a good athletic person to do well and make it work right - if your uncoordinated and fat your gona suck at kinect - I am a professional kinect gamer and the first ever partnered kinect channel - so i do know what im talking about - also i am a huge DSP supporter - great vid bro - i hope Ghost Recon will change the kinect gaming experience!

  • @kinectaddict "I am a professional kinect gamer" XD That sounds hilraious XD You ould just as well have said "I am a professional Kirby's Epic Yarn gamer".

  • @4evil2me are you mad at what i wrote - professional means you get paid to do something - i dont get paid to play kirby's adventure - i get paid to play kinect - prob alot more than you do at whatever your job may be - but im not here to argue

  • @kinectaddict So what your saying is your a video game tester for the kinect and its uses? Sounds like an interesting profession.

  • @gokuUchiha47 full time kinect player - 16 hours a day i spend playing or editing film for kinect reviews and websites - thanks alot

  • @kinectaddict 16 hours a day? oh yea your a loser and i mean that in the nicest way possible.

  • @kinectaddict

    Professional kinnect player ?

Are you for real or is that trolling?

If, in reality, you mean, "youtube partner that plays kinnect games out of my own interest with a side job that actually provides most of my income" than that is not a professional kinnect player for microsoft.

  • @TheGlowingKnight its not a joke or anything - i was a union construction worker in Boston and i was i in the military before that - Vf -213 AD squadron Petty officer an agent for an entertainment company asked me to work for them - i left my job that i made 58$ an hour at to make video game reviews for xbox at a higher pay - im not a troll - or fake i think DSP is one of the hardest working youtubers - he's from the east coast like me and i commented - and also i did partner my ch w xbox

  • @kinectaddict LOL fucking douche XD

  • I agree with you but give it time. New technology will need time to get used to.

  • If I may quote the Angry Video Game Nerd: "WHAT, WERE THEY THINKING?!"

  • Music is just a tad bit loud. Other than that great job! And i totally agree with your opinion on this one.

  • @darksydephilfanboy What are you talking about ?

  • Well i kinda like the psmove, i never played kinect and the wii is half decent but i do want them to go back to the regular controllers. Like nintendo the would be making a lot more progress. ( My opinion! )

  • I'll sum up how bad motion controls can get in just two very powerful words.

    Power. Glove.

  • With PS Move you're playing with a dildo with a glowing dickhead and Kinect makes you look like an idiot with your hands swinging around.

  • I loved Skyward Sword as much as the next person, but I agree. Motion Controls are a gimmick. When I heard that the Zelda(s) on Wii U will, again, use motion controls I was like "seriously? SERIOUSLY?! after all the people saying it wasn't as smooth as predicted?". I mean, ok, fine, if they can perfect, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But if the controls again flop, then please, Nintendo, go back to standard controls. Back to what we all know and love.

  • Who could possibly dislike this video :S lol? IMO I think that all games that require motion controlls should atleast have the alternate normal control feature if you do not want to use them. FUCK motion controls

  • My favourite time of the year - phil's year-end videos :D

  • @pmcfarlin7 "I don't mind motion controls either as long as the games are made well for it" Yea which is like....NONE so there goes your point dude and that is what Phill is adressing. No offence

  • Motion Controls are for five year olds.

  • MOTION CONTROLLLS?! SUCK MY DICK KINECT AND MOVE!

  • i love ps move. hate kinect. not fanboy here but i hate moving arround like a maniac. i like to feel the controll in my hand but be able to move it, instead of imaginary controlls

  • I'm so glad I pinned DSP I would've missed all of these.

  • MOTION CONTROLS CAN SUCK MY BALLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Why play a game if you can do most of the things in real life that's what its like when people say video games are only for controllers not motion controls. Trust me I have a kinect and used to have wii and yes I admit the standard controller is the best but I don't mind motion controls either as long as the games are made well for it.

  • Motion Controls only kicks ass when you're trying some games that are based on dancing which I believe also...

  • @CMPunkMassaroSVR It's the Internet get over yourself you fucking conceded douchebag.

  • @MrUncorkingAsh So on the internet, you don't need intelligence? No wonder I hate the people online so much

  • Comment removed

  • I guess its a matter of skill or something. Cause I've seen people do better with move on games like Socom 4 and Killzone 3. Mostly with Killzone, getting much better shot. I am, sadly, not one of those people. But motion controls can make games better for some people, if its done right.

  • 1:10 = a bunch of assholes.

  • It should be just controls

  • But

  • Motion controls should be available

  • What about Gunstringer? I thought that was pretty good.

  • finally i agree with something from dsp

  • LBP2 has benefited from PS Move I think, shame the update came out about half a year after the release.

  • Resistance 3 is actually better with the move, you own people without a move on multiplayer an the singleplayer is more fun and comfortable with it. Heavy Rain also works as intended and is really fun with a move. Killzone 3 doesn't feel as good as R3 because they kept the 'weight' that you experience with the DS3, otherwise it wouldn't make sense. I haven't played inFamous 2 with the new move support but I read is pretty good. So basically, Kinect sucks, WiiMote Plus and Move work as advertised

  • i like the motion controls on mario kart but that about it havent played zelda on wii yet

  • What was that comment somebody posted on the last video about the wii not being a console? Then they're the only ones who actually deliver on motion controls nice comment.

  • I thought motion controls worked fine in Zelda. =/

One thing you have to know, though. When you zoom in, it centers to where ever you were pointing at, so you have to push down on the d-pad again after you are done with shooting stuff. That can cause problems.

  • God of War 3 with PSMove could be fucking awesome

  • @evilaj2010 Go troll somewhere else.

You must have last word don't you kid?

    Typical asshole.

You don't know anything about motion controls but you must type something stupid in comments.

    Good luck with your life.

  • do u remeber the time where u heard motion control and u thought who the fuck would buy that.....this is the end result of all the wtf moments now :D

  • Motion Controls suck, yes. But i do like the Wii because it ACTUALLY WORKS!
