Man Im seein a whole nutha side of Whodini that I neva new about... Im not so suprised though that they gave it a shot and its actually a pretty chill concept.
Damn...i used to love this jam even though i didn't hear it much! That's Cherrelle's hit with Trey Lorenz (kat that sang "I'll Be There" with Mariah Carey) jamming on the hook! This joint would be a hit now!
Thge late 1990's was whne Hip-Hop started to suck big time. 1996 was a proper year for hip-hop because of the rejuvenation of East-Coast Hip-Hop returning to the pop charts (thanks to Diddy and Dupri) cuz people were tired of that G Funk s**t. Hip-Hop was still gittin worse, but it wasn't until 1998 or 1999 when it became the worst for the worst!
Whodini didn't get the attention they deserved because they were around for nearly 15 years (at that period) and people didn't like old school rappers performing modern hip-hop music, even with Jermaine Dupri (returing a favor for the classic duo) producing their sixth cd (or lp)
Nah, Bupree just fucked them up when he should have given them a club banger instead. They were known for slow songs too, but when you make the comeback, you rock the house!
Yeah it even sounds like JD, didn't suit them at all. The joint they did with Terminator X("It All Comes down to Money"), now that was a pretty tight joint. If anyone has this album "Six", please upload a few tracks here. Maybe it ain't all that bad(Source Magazine gave it 2 and a half mics) .
@steeltownbrown52 ...they were just too old. This was a simple beat, and they just sounded mad outdated and even off beat. Whoodini are legends, but Im surprised JD even messed with em like that. They were way past their prime.
Pure classic

Yeah, they borrowed, or should I say, their old EMPLOYEE, Jermaine Dupree borrowed this beat and hook from Cherelle - "Everything I miss at home"
